My recruiter just told me, in basic terms, that he's going to drop me from the DEP and he wants me to come into his office to file some discharge forms or whatever, that I betrayed his trust by doing my own research and trusting verified sources over him, and that I am incapable of making my own decisions (I'm 18) and don't know what I want or will be good at and that I should bring my mother with me (she's with me when we come in) when I come in to sign the forms today. He kept on talking about "needs of the Air Force" and shit, and I told him that when I get in, I am the Air Force, so my needs matter as well.
Anyways, is this standard? It doesn't feel like it. He's wasting my time, and he's wasting his time by taking me out of DEP. He's just trying to scare me, right?
Some context: I want to be a 3d1x2 if possible, then a 3d0x2 and 3d1x3 if I can't. Recruiter called me four times about jobs and told me if I declined three times he's gonna drop me out of the DEP. I declined all three offerings, the "third" one today, because all he gave me was flightline shit like 2a5x1, 2w1x1 (that may not be flightline), then a mechanical aptitude area, then today he offered me "five" jobs, 2a931 and 2a832, both shit, and the e67 and m44 aptitude areas (I asked why there weren't five, then he gave me m51 and m55) - still not five, and none of the aptitude areas offer 3d anything. I'm not being a dick, am I? I know I'm probably not, but still. Also, how are the jobs he offered me? Shit? Would I have been stuck on flightline?

Literally any lubricant you use will be fine. You could use olive oil if you wanted to.
Both clp and ballistol evaporate really fast off ars in my experience and anything else is like 600% more expensive

Gun ownership dominating your personal identity
How many of you kommandos are consumed by firearms interest to the point that it has taken over your personal life?
Firearms ownership has come to define who I am as a person. I am 23 years old and have never had a girlfriend. I only have one friend who I see once per week for a few hours. I haven't "gone out" with a group of people in years.
All this being said, I don't really care. Its weird, but as long as I have my kollection everything feels ok. Literally all I do is work, hunt, and go to the range. Sometimes I get the feeling this is excessive, but I don't care or want to change. Any other kommandos with similar experiences? Those who do have a balanced life, how do you do it?

I'm 30 and only have one friend I hang out with.
Being a gun owner does not define me, however. It's normal as a man to not really have a bunch of friends. Life isn't high school.
I do have a family and get out of the house tho. I think maybe get out more, get a gf maybe. I know it's nerve racking, but all they can do is say no.
