Hey k, I have a friend who will be putting his 1911 in storage for 5-6 months. He has the original box that he will store it in under his bed, should he put the gun in one of these too? Think it's worth the 8 bucks? Thanks.

If he makes sure the room isn't humid, puts a light coat of oil on the metal and tosses a desicant packet in there. He should be fine for 5-6 months.
Apply a liberal coat of Renaissance wax to the frame, and barrel.
Use a spary of barricade on internals, and bore.
Then if extra paranoid or if you live in a costal or muggy area, vacuum bag it with a fee desicant packs.
This probably sounds stupid, but has anybody ever made a flintlock black powder paper cartridge rifle?
I'm asking because it sounds like a viable homemade SHTF gun if you don't have access to ammunition or spent cases for reloading. All you need is flint, paper, black powder, and lead. The flint spark presumably would ignite the paper cartridge and fire the round, no need for percussion caps or flashpans making operation as smooth as any other single shot rifle.
Have some operators from Kashmir from a few years ago in advance.

Only if you don't have access to the tools to reload your own rounds for some reason.

Paper cartridges were used to hold sufficient powder for a shot together with the ball, making reload simpler than using a seperate powder flask and bullet box. The sparks from the flintlock are not enough to ignite an unopened cartridge.
The user would bite the cartridge open and pour most of the powder down the barrel, keeping back a pinch for the pan.
They would then drop the ball (and the paper, which acted as wadding) down the barrel before ramming the load home.
Tbey would then put the pinch of powder in the pan, before closing the pan cover and cocking the weapon. It would then be ready to fire.
Due to the closer fit needed by rifles for the ball and patch/wadding to actually engage the rifling, they were slower to reload and took more effort to ram home the load.
tl:dr You can't do it without the flashpan, percussion cap or slowmatch.

Paper shotgun shells where a thing and still are a thing in third world countries.
Just wanted /k/'s opinion on which would be more useful in North Korean terrain, considering any lessons we may have learned during the war.
Neither considering a second Korean War will never happen as long as Kim has WMDs.
Fuck off to back to CNN you misinformed cuck.

Why do guns have the trigger and grip UNDER the barrel?
Surely mechanical advantage can be improved by putting the barrel lower in line with your shoulder?
>put grip+trigger to the right of the barrel+action for balance reasons
>lefty faggots cry about it
i think it would be a neat thing
Because you can present a lower profile in the prime position or foxhole. Plus easier to achieve natural point of aim
Prime = prone

Gay.
Can't say I'm a great fan of the finish he gave the axe head, but I guess that's just a matter of taste. Especially combined with the somewhat soft shaping of it, the result just felt about as crisp as dough.
"Solid" chains tend to be somewhat stylish in appearance, but even when keeping other art pieces in mind, I just can't shake the feeling that this is one chain that won't be stronger than it's weakest weld. Still, I can live with what's most likely far worse when it comes to art pieces, so I probably shouldn't complain too much there. Might just be that the overall look doesn't entice me enough to get over it.
And remember kids, the smoke you get when welding galvanised metal ain't your friend.
NEVA BIN DUN BEFOAH
If you look at any old US army training films back from when men were men they all teach you to shoot with a "chicken wing" stance like in pic related.
The new way teaches you to not use any bone support and be a worse marksman so you can get a little bit of protection from your gear.
WW2 and Vietnam produced millions of fucked up people who organised in biker clubs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wId4VZtgW3M
The new ways produce cuckolds whose wives get fucked by BBC while they're away: https://twitter.com/Tabarius/status/875131503549837312/video/1
It's up to you to choose which one you want to be.
tl;dr not chicken-winging makes you a cuck
it works better for some rifles
others it works like shit
i'd guess it has to do with the length of pull
Does anyone have experience with pic related?
I have a pretty nice No. 4 Mk. I and I don't want to foul the shit out of it or anything. However the price per round is pretty good and I love shooting it.
Should I try some of this stuff or just get some PPU for more money?
The PPU brass is reloadable. If you reload it makes more sense to use PPU
>>34829968
ppu brass sucks

I do reload but currently don't have dies for .303.
What makes the brass shit?
>the 556 is a dangerous mankiller because of its fragmentation and yaw characteristics
Everybody is relying on this fuckin retarded round to frag/yaw, and it does not reliably do so on every shot. (We are talking 16 inches of barrel or greater)
Why was this stupid fuckin meme ammo kept and used for so long by so many people? This shit does nothing but pice pick and leave 22 sized holes.
Anyone here with combat experience that likes this round?
If it were as shitty as you say it is, it wouldn't be as widely adopted.
What is the best gun to snuggle with?

bumping this HIGH quality thread
I'm going to bump.
what's it like to be so high speed and leet that you and your team just dominate the enemy so hard they didn't know what hit 'em?
Why doesn't Taurus get NATO certified? The turks could do it.
This is what I have in silver and black poly.
Got a bad carry gun. Small sleek. I carry .40 so it's not too heavy.
>>34828685
Because they're actually pretty shoddy.
The QC is monumentally worse on products they sell domestically, if you can believe that.
They also have a legally enforced market monopoly in Brazil, which is highly unethical if you ask me.
Two guns coming out of the same factory on the same day can have wildly different specs, that's how shit Taurus is
My daad had it, gave it to me. Never seen another one like it, with open rivets, slightly longer than normal. Never seen blades like these on another either.
Also, what is the brass thing meant to be for?
>>34828455
Closed.
Each piece also sticks out a hit further than normal

And a size comparison with it and a modern spartan SAK.

It's a famas tool used for field striping. I'd date it around 1889.
What are your thoughts on the: Kel-Tec cmr30?(upper gun)
I think it's a pretty solid if i can say a "pistol" that is really compact and perfect to put in a bag or even a backpack..
>>34828431
>held together with plastic and wood screws
Hold one first. I love the idea and the capacity. But holding a triangle in my hand wasn't comfortable. It was better than a hipoint but not by much.
It's a cute idea but rimfire and doubletack mags will never mix well. It's never going to work well unless they go single stack (defeating the purpose) or take the rim off the cartridge (also not happening)
are we going to have another golden era of modern PMC? are those poor retired infantrymen going to get a job in PMC industry?
