I recently removed a wood furniture stock set from my Mossberg 500 and put the factory furniture back on the shotgun. I noticed, however, that the stock has spacing issues now and the stock moves back and forth(pic related). I have all the factory spacers on the stock so that isn't the issue. If I were to shoot this would there be any issues?
>>31851600
Not trying be THAT guy, but did you tighten the bolt down all the way? I've replaced a lot of 500/88 stocks and I've never encountered this.
>>31851600
yes there would be issues. there is probably some crap left from the wood stock you didnt remove. take it off reinstall make sure all the washers are present. are you reusing the same bolt? there may be size differences depending on the age of the old wood stock and the new replacement.
>>31851642
I used the bolt that came with the factory new gun on the wooden stock.
>>31851639
I tightened it fully, yes
Hey /k/, was wondering what the challenges might be in reproducing firearms such as the Gerat 06H Rifle for a civilian market. I don't think I have seen too many reproductions.
How hard is it to find design documents? Does anyone own the rights to any of the mechanisms in the gun? What changes would need to be made to the weapon besides of course removing the fun switch? Would there even be any interest?
Id rather have the mkb 42
they already make civilian mp44 clones, why bother?
>>31850950
my first recomendation would be doing some research maybe via google.
however since you obviously won't do that OP the rifle you have in picture is the earliest part of the design chain that led to the CETME/H&K roller delayed blowback family of weapons. There was a kit out there for a while that would allow you to use an H&K g33 parts kit to make one in 5.56 but I forget who made it and sold it.
Sup /k/ what are you guys running for BOB? What's a good molle compatible pack? I'm torn between these too.
http://www.haleystrategic.com/equipment/packs-and-bags/haley-strategic-flatpack
http://762tactical.com/accessories/molle-compatible-day-pack.html
>>31850698
Don't know anything about the second one but the Flatpack is more of an EDC pack. It's small for a BoB. If you do a search you'll also find some complaints about durability. If you do go that route know that the grey is a different design and has more padded straps.
>>31850743
Hmmmm alright are there any plate carrier compatible packs you'd recommend? Looking for 48-72hr
Justhe get a medium alice and upgrade to a hyena.
Is there any reason the US military should ask for something to replace or add as an addition to the Apache/Longbow? Would there be a point to replacing the Apache in the Army? How about the AH-1W/AH-1Z in the marine corps? I mean, the air force is asking for funding for new planes all the time, we have the F35 nearing full production and a new bomber on the way.

Defiant looks amazing. Valor looks like absolute garbage shit. I wonder how they'll both perform in the future.
Kind of seems unnecessary though, I mean, just throw new tech into the Apache and the platform will probably last another 30 years. Unless someone's making a magic stealth helicopter, there isn't really a point to changing what we have now for a new platform.
>>31850007
The idea is to replace pretty much everything handful of designs. They should also force manufacturers make designs that could be developed into naval variants and force all branches gradually switch to common hardware.
So I'm building an AR. I'm not really sure which one I should go with. I've heard they're pretty comparable. Not like Tapco shit or anything. What's /k/s opinon on AR mags?
>>31849137
get both and see how they work with your bcg. both are great
Most name-brand AR mags are fine. Pmags are so prevalent that they're cheap and they work as well as anything else. The only thing I've seen that beats $10-11 gen 2 Pmags are the $7 PSA metal mags with anti-tilt followers.
>>31849137
I like both. You might hear from some people that the Lancers are bad because the first round pops up when the BCG is pulled back, but that only happens if the bolt comes back slow enough because the Lancer actually has enough room to put a 31st round in it, so that first round on a loaded mag can be depressed further by the bolt near the rim, causing it to "pop" slightly. Even then, it'll still load just fine when the BCG slams home.
Also, you may have to leave your Lancers loaded for a bit before they'll load easily on a closed bolt, but it's kind of a minor thing.
Have you accepted the savior of america as your lord yet /k/?

Just ordered 3 boxes myself. Needed something other than m193 for my HD gun
>>31849164
Same. M193 does the job but I wanted something 'better'
>>31848949
What is the 'better' about this? Should I switch it out for my M855?
I been thinking of picking up a 9mm because cheap ammo but I don't want to bother with it if there is going to be a nation wide tightening on laws and capacity gets regulated.
If 10 rounds total were set as a rule would people be switching from 9's to 38super/40,45,10acp/357/44? If 9 lost popularity for something else those bullets might get a bit cheaper and more plentiful while 9 turns into the redheaded step child and people move from 'modern bullet technology and high capacity' favor for 'stopping power' as the usual talk goes. (I'm not trolling I know hearing the term stopping power is going to send someone running for their medication after slamming the capslock on their keyboard in rage)

/k/ can't tell the future, and we also don't really discuss politics here. If you want to discuss the future of the 2nd ammendment in hillary's america, go to /pol/.
If you think mag size restrictions will make every start buying rounds that cost 2-3x what 9mm costs, you're wrong.
>>31849251
I don't want to talk about politics, I'm just thinking what if 9mm pistols didn't really have their capacity. Partly cause I'm trying to talk myself out of buying more guns.
I don't think it'd cost 2 or 3 times for other bullets if people bought more of other stuff, there is just discounts on 9 because so much of it gets made if other stuff had a higher demand more of it would get made bullets are usually priced more around demand than materials like 40 and 10, the only difference is a few cm of case length, well and the primer but still pretty close.
>>31849543
9mm will still be cheap and in demand for the simple fact that materials costs are less and modern 9mm defensive loads are on par with larger rounds with less recoil for the shooter to deal with.
Hillary's America or not, 9mm will remain where it is in the handgun ammo hierarchy.

Let's have a thread about criminal combat and weaponry. Are there any operators turned /k/riminal hitmen/mercenaries or whatever? I know a lot of cartel hit squads have former spec ops in them, although that isn't saying much with Mexico's military
>>31848552
Well, there was that former marine that shot the president once.
>>31848558
>Unlike the Army and the Navy, the Marines have not yet had a former member become President.
>Also unlike the Army and Navy, the Marines have had a former member shoot and kill the President.
>>31848558
I wouldn't really call Oswald an "operator". He didn't even see combat iirc. I mean more in the terms of turning to criminal ventures, not going schizo
Recently got an offer to buy a smith and wesson model 29-3 with 6 inch for about six hundred.
What I really want to know is how a 4 inch handles vs a 6. Is the 6 worth it or should I hold out for a smaller one.
>>31848481
Only well to tell is to pick it up. Ergonomics is purely subjective,
Me, I like a 5.5" or 6" barrel on any wheelgun. Less bark, less muzzle flash, less muzzle rise. And... this may sound dumb, but it looks menacing as hell.
>>31848481
Six inch is the best barrel length you could possibly get on a model 29 or a 44 mag in my opinion. But that is irrelevant seeing as they are offering you it for a great price. Buy it and if you don't like it sell it. I bet you would even turn a profit on it if you did.
>>31849486
This. There's a reason Dirty Harry's is a 6 inch. It's not laughably short. It's not ridiculously long. It's just right.
Any good /k/ related books you want to share? I'll start with this

Organizes weapons by type: the pistol, the revolver, unusual weapons, rifles and long arms, sporting and combat shotguns, machine guns, and lastly, submachine guns. It then proceeds to organize them by country and manufacturer. Lists the type, origin, caliber, and barrel length of every weapon listed, followed by a brief but interesting synopsis and description.

Coup d'état by Luttwak, or "how to overthrow a third-world country"
Short, simple, gives examples on what to do and not to do. Who to approach for the coup, what targets are important, how to compartmentalize the operation, who to capture vs kill, proper placement of blocking detachments to keep loyalists away from the capital, how to keep the officers involved in the coup from seizing power from you during the process.
im currently reading the french foreign legion by douglas porch. all about the history of them from when they were created up until about the 80s. Its pretty legit so far..im about twelve chapters in.
If Trump wins I'll be 10000$ richer. Now, with that money I want to spend 1000$ and save the rest. I've never owned a pistol.
Would an FNX 45 be a waste?
Are there better threaded pistols for cheaper?

This just flew over my house. Heading south.
Humboldt County, CA. Roughly 1/4 mile inland, 3 miles south of the regional airport (ACV).
Looks like an MH-47, maybe G variant.
Any ideas why it's here?
>>31846313
its the national guard probably just someone getting their hourly minimums, and its not an MH, its an F.
source: army pilot.
>>31846313
because helicopters can fly over stuff and it probably going in a straight line(the fastest way to get somewhere) so it get to its location.
