Oregon fag here. I will try to keep this mostly weapons related and although my second question is more pol related, I hope the mods are cool with it.
First, you guys feel ok about your stash? I don't. I have a thousand rounds of 7.62x39 (all brass). 1300 rounds of m855. Plenty of 12 gauge slugs and buckshot. Plenty of 22lr and magnum to deal with critters so I don't dig into my rifle stash. Only like 500 rounds of 300blk but I have a bolt action and am applying for a suppressor. I'm naked on ammo.
In the event of conflict I have body armor, gas mask, meals, water, tools, ect.
Secondly, is it a realization yet that our country is going to go to hell with Clinton winning? How many of you will actually protest or refuse to comply when we get a second awb ban? As a Republican, I feel democrats/liberals are becoming more violent and threatening towards others who don't share their view point. I won't feel safe under a Clinton presidency. Will you?

Went out a did some fear buying over the weekend, mostly just ammo but I got this CETME 308 FOR 450$. I've shot about 200 rounds with no issue so far, anyone have any experience with these rifles? I've read a lot of bad stuff but it seems like you can really do a lot to this thing.

If it's one of the older construction Century CETME's you should check the bolt face for any evidence of grinding and check the bolt gap to see if it's to large or to small. If it's one way or the other you can buy different rollers to adjust it and just remember to check it occasionally. If you find a good one the CETME can be a serviceable rifle and even a bad one can be used as a parts kit to build a better rifle.

No personal experience but they sound hit or more often miss which is why save $200 more for a ptr is the general advice.
But if you got an entirely functional one for $450 that sounds damn good.

Sup /k/, I'm writing a book. Since Tom Clancy had to be a faggot and die, I've been throwing around ideas for my own books.
Right now my main idea is for a book about a fledgling Ex-Soviet/East Bloc nation.
So let's say hypothetically a fictional nation had some special forces units from Russia operating in it. What would they be called? I've seen MVD, FSB, TsSN, KSO all tossed around but have a hard time really figuring out what they all do.
What I'm looking for is which of these units would most likely be out in other countries (ie; Syria, and other sandboxes) doing any kind of shit. Spooky or otherwise. It's a book for entertainment, not absolute realism, so whatever. Just so I know which units to actually read more into...

Was planning on making NCR ranger armor out of 1/8in steel plate and since i'll have to make a padding layer my self i thought i'd just go all out and give it some actual bullet resistance because this is America and i can.
How many layers of kevlar 29 would i need to stop whatever your average street thug is carrying after passing through 1/8in steel tread plate?

Hello again. A while ago I decided that I wanted a modern general purpose rifle...something that would be useful hunting, target shooting, and if crazy world events should happen. The closest I came to describing what I wanted was Jeff Cooper's scout rifle. But the scout concept had a few very dated concepts...so I came up with this list. The perfect rifle should be:
-Compact. No longer than 39 inches.
-Light. No heavier than 7.7lbs unloaded with optic.
-Well rounded. .308 caliber.
-Easy to feed. Detachable magazine of at least 5 rounds.
-Versatile. Able to mount a 1-6x illuminated AR style optic for a wide range of shooting.
-Prepared. Have a backup sighting system such as iron sights.
-Low profile. Must look like a hunting rifle.
-Accurate. At least an 18 inch barrel.

I'm sharing this in the hope that others can use my legwork to their advantage. I decided to either get a Winchester 70 featherweight compact or a Remington model 7 laminate. Both will need an inlet and bottom metal, but the remington has sights and the shorter barrel already. Which way would you go, /k/?

If you are used to paper you will find this easier.
As far as time. It's cliche as hell but: slow is smooth, smooth is fast.
Don't overthink it. "Sights on target, squeeze trigger, sight picture on same target in case you missed or it didn't fall, assess, next target and repeat"
