I bought some Nosler Trophy Grade 308 ammo. The accuracy was great, but the velocity was anemic. Where can I buy factory ammo that's loaded up hot?

>small indoor range near me
>only allows calibers up to 9x19
>range master is an idiot
>bring my SW 686 and shoot .38s
>range master tells me to go away because my gun is a .357
>come back next day
>bring 9x19
>set 100lbs of tannerite on my firing lane
>shoot
>wake up in a hospital three days later
>range master is next to me telling me that I'm banned from the range
>because I use +P 9x19 rounds
How does it shoot? Is it worth the price? Would you edc it?
I'm considering buying one amd carrying it an urban carry holster
>>31935626
i like it but i'm a little dude and i don't find J-frames particularly comfortable to conceal. the recoil is manageable and the gun is ergonomic. Only five shots that's a bummer.
They make me wet. The ergonomics are nice, and they are built well. If you take care of it, it will take care of you. Tree fiddy 7
Trigger might be a little rough otb compared to some s&w triggers but it will smooth out with use. I replaced the grips on mine because the stock ones were a little too small to hold onto, especially with some of the hotter .357 loads.
That having been said it has become one of my favorite guns to shoot and it's built like a tank.
Is the age of the self propelled assault guns now? Turkey and Indonesia are teaming up for a new mobile gun system.
America wants a new gun under the Mobile Protected Firepower program.
Italy is putting out the Centauro II.
France has been dishing death to hadjis with the AMX-10RC/ERC-90.
Russians giving their paratroopers a new Sprut.
Japan has the MCV program.
A lot of IFV/APC tracked and 8x8 chassis on the market are modular enough to fit guns 90mm and above.

Post self propelled guns. Bonus points for things in service or ordered.
Centauro II with a 120mm gun will give Italian cavalry brigades powerful dakka.
A much less burdening vehicle for Japan to distribute firepower as need be.
So, I've been thinking about getting a sound suppressor for my 22lr. Looking at all the options it's been pretty overwhelming. I've landed on the CGS HYDRA ss. Does /k/ have any insight on 22lr cans? Is the model I've picked worth the 1 year wait?
>>31935186
Just build your own Form 1 can. Vendors sell all the parts you need on Ebay and Amazon. It's way cheaper than buying some "brand" name can and the quality and performance will be just as good if all you're shooting is .22.
>>31935392
Thanks for the tip. I'll start looking into it.
>>31935186
The specs on the model you picked look comparable to most of the high end 22 cans out there. I don't see any problem with it.
Are glass sights on combat rifles a viable option or does the liability of getting them caked in mud make them useful only to snipers?

Election is tomorrow, i rant to the gun store and saw an AKM i like, 619USD, its from a company called I-O Manufacturing. Is the company any good, ive never heard it, should i bail and go for a AR?
>>31934734
IO is shit. Like, your sights will fall off the gun and it might explode on you shit.
Get the AR.
>>31934780
yep.
Nigga, an I.O. will fucking explode on you.
Research this shit before you blow $600.
When are we going to miniaturize this beast and issue them to infantry squads like AT-4's/M72's?
No, I don't mean a Javelin. I mean a small missile that one dude can actually carry around and forget about until he needs it, then just throw away once he's done with it?
>>31934547
Because the AT-4 is already literally that, you fucking retard.
>>31934876
Yes but no wire guidance. I think thats what op was getting at
Missiles are useless in infantry engagements.
Is this an acceptable rifle to keep on hand whenever I want to go down to a range for a fun weekend? Would be my first firearm
I'm in California
>>31934538
ar 7's are pretty neat if you like the gimmick, I think a 10/22 takedown is far more practical though.
ruger 10/22 takedown is a 10x better choice
>>31934573
beat me to it lol
Opinions on carrying with a light? Most bullshitery happens at night, and light in one and pistol in the other feels clunky and awkward
>>31934209
Should carry one on your carry, also Carey a separate edc light.
My EDC (G26) doesn't have a rail, so I really can't comment too much on it.
It's not an option for me, but it seems like a pretty good idea. I'd do it if I had a rail and the extra cash for a light.
I do EDC a pen-light though, on my left front pocket, and feel confident that I would be fine using it in conjuction with my gun if the need arose.
I'm putting together an order for bulk .223 (not 5.56 NATO) for my varmint rifle. (Savage Model 11) I've been shooting Wolf Gold 55gr boat tails and shooting good groups at 300 yards (for my skill) But on a budget and college fag so no reloading.
Do I rebuy gold for 330 per 1000 +shipping or buy WPA(Wolf) 55gr hollow point steel case for 250 per 1000.
gun is dead nuts at 270 yards right now and I'm loving it. 2" high at 100. it's extremely easy to use on gopher sized targets. only fault so far is user error.
>>31933887
get the brass you cheap fuck. A varmint rifle means that 1000rds is going to be sitting for a while and any steel cased shit is going to rust.
>>31933887
id pay more for gold. as a bonus, you can sell your brass to recoup some of the extra cost.
lastly, if its a varmit gun, why would you regularly shoot possibly inaccurate ammo out of it. what you save in initial ammo costs seems to be lost with shitty groups.
>>31934165
Most steel case is lacquered or polymer coated, specifically to prevent rust. Additionally, so long as you store it inside, in a closet or something, there shouldn't be any worry about rust. Toss it in a plastic tub and throw some dessicant inside if you live in a humid area. Either way, this should not be your reason for not buying steel cased.

Hey /k/.
I'm 18 and looking to get a gun. Long guns are pretty much my only option right now. I'm 18 and I live in Maryland.
Only problem is I'm not exactly a full citizen I think.
I have a green card, a social security number and a learner's permit.
Can I get funs like any other true American (read: cucked Marylander) or am I somehow limited/straight up disallowed?
its pretty much deficto disallowed.
>>31933841
drive to baltimore go to the west side and root around in some storm drains i bet you'll find a few pistols
you cannot legally posses a firearm
I've had thoughts about this in the past, but was reminded lately looking at a sort of xray of a working pistol: Magazine springs take up quite a lot of space even when fully compressed. What technology or techniques, if any, have been produced that might change how we normally create magazines so that we can have more capacity without the large spring taking up space at the bottom?
Imagine perhaps a pair of very stretchy but compact pieces of material pulling on both sides of the follower so that there is no spring beneath it, but it is instead pulled upward. I'm not saying that this material exists, but ideas like this one are what I'm getting at.
Are there any past or current efforts similar to this?
>>31933373
Like a rubber band that would gum up the works when you only have a couple of rounds left?
I've heard of guys talking about trying to 3D print magazine bodies then use magnets to provide the force.
>>31933373
Here's a very small example of a different style of magazine that I'm getting at:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_CpGDHv6do
Seems this guy's idea never went anywhere, though, and it actually looks bulkier than just having a spring, but that sort of idea is interesting anyways.
