TONIGHT ON FUTURE WEAPONS, I, FORMER JEWISH NAVY SEAL, WILL WHISPER MENACINGLY NEXT TO AN M-16 CLONE IN A PROPRIETARY CARTRIDGE TO MAKE IT SEEM MORE LETHAL. THEN, I SHOOT A BALLISTIC GEL DUMMY PAINTED BROWN TO SIMULATE TERRORISM.
IF YOU'VE EVER BEEN ON A / IN A (synonym for battlefield/tactical situation) THEN YOU KNOW THAT IN ORDER TO (win/prevail/engage/hostiles/drop tangos on the foh foh) YOU DEFINITELY NEED (something involving FIREPOWER), BUT WHAT IF (your gun jams/LOL 5.56 blows/LOL 7.62 sux/your fighting space unicorns)? IN THIS SITUATION YOU NEED A WEAPON THAT (comes in some shitty expensive as fuck caliber/involves an insane british guy with C4/is a drone/is a refit of an old weapon/can kill space unicorns), THE (H&K/Barret/Accuracy International/Blackwater/Northrop Grumman/IMI) (random number/nasty sounding verb-er) IS THAT WEAPON.
Well done lad, do tank overhaul next. Or top ten.

Feels bad man. I lack the social skills, cleverness, and resources to end up liek this guy.

I've actually never gotten the opportunity to pet a dog or cat before. What do they feel like?
Growing up all my friends and family only had hamsters, snakes, lizards, and even a capybara. Never any dogs though.
One guy did have a cat once but it kept running from everyone.
So I'm in the market for my first gun, now that I'm no longer underage and out of high school I'm looking for a reliable yet cheap(ish) gun. I've heard good things about the Maverick 88, which i could pick up between 180-230 at some LGS in my area. Pros and cons? Convince me to, or to not pick one up.
>>31991279
Maverick 88 is a great gun, go for it OP
great choice OP
It's the one I have and still shoot the most. Everyone I shoot with has been telling me to get a semi auto but I love the pump action. So satisfying. I'd say buy it, its a great gun for an even better price
Hi /K/, I picked up this Daewoo K1A1 today for only $950. I love the thing but I have a few questions. I put 140 rounds through it and had about 10 light primer strikes. I was shooting Tulammo, but I don't think that's the problem. When I looked at how far the firing pin protruded from the bolt face compared to my AR15, it was just a tad bit less. Should I just buy a new firing pin, or will a new one be the same length? My second question is about what is scratched/etched into the side of the receiver. It says Debusk 456768748, i'm not too sure what that is all about. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Anybody. PLS halp.
try different ammo.
tulammo is notoriously crap.
>>31991511
Thanks for the reply. I shot 40 rounds of brass Winchester which functioned fine, but the primer strikes looked a little light on them as well.
hey /k/ i lurked here a bit just got my first assault handgun cause of recent stuff. i gotta admit it's kind of loud and that scares me. i got a cable lock that you can lock it with to disable it, is there any locks like that i can get for my clips?

I don't understand how this guy or anyone thought this made sense, much heavier material for only marginally more protection, assuming you aren't just creating shot traps for bullets to come in through the depression, which you are.
>>31990845
FUCKing genius!
I want to buy a .22LR target pistol. I'm looking a Ruger MK IV Hunter and I would leave it mostly stock.
Should I consider a S&W Victory? It is a lot cheaper, but looks like its got lots of aftermarket for barrels, grips, etc and you could build something pretty impressive. I have no interest in spending more than $800ish total, so could
I out-shoot the MK IV with $350 or so in upgrades to the S&W? Or would it only be worth it if I planned on spending a lot more. I've seen how expensive 10/22 builds can get.
>>31990824
Swap out the fiber optic with a target sight and you will be good to go on the MK 4 Hunter.
>>31990824
Well just my humble opinion the Ruger will have a far and wide aftermarket selection for sure; given how supported were the older models.
I'd take the Ruger over the Victory; while overall a nice gun the Ruger will have more options for customization.
>>31990824
If price is a concern for you why not buy a mkii?
I assume you can find one in excellent condition for 250 or so.
If you have the money, buy th mkiv for the aftermarket support that will be there soon and forever
can someone explain to me the point of shotguns? you can only carry so many guns at the same time.
shotgun is bullshit for home defense, it is long and hard to corner around or clear rooms with. For every other purpose a rifle and a pistol is your ideal loadout.
Shotgun seems like just a useless tool for the aristocracy and rednecks to hunt ducks with.
>>31990813
Skeet shooting is fun
it's the superior home defense option. AR-15 has too much penetration (you don't want to kill your daughter in the next room) and not as much stopping power as a 12ga shotgun. handguns are a bit better but lack the iconic "i'm cocking a shotgun you best gtfo" sound.

Realistically speaking, a hidden safe with a sensor on it connected to a monitoring service like ADT.
I built my safe into a corner in the garage and drywalled it in behind a pegboard panel with tools and stuff hung on it. I had it so if you twisted the right peg and pulled right, the panel would slide and reveal the safe inside.
I sold the house, everyone at the open house thought the safe was excellent. Every offer I got stipulated that I had to leave it there.
>Four ruffians break into my house.
>"What the devil?" as I grab my powdered wig and Kentucky rifle.
>Blow a golf ball sized hole through the first man, he's dead on the spot.
>Draw my pistol on the second man, misses him entirely because it's smoothbore and nails the neighbor's dog.
>I have to resort to the cannon mounted at the top of the stairs loaded with grape shot.
>"Tally ho lads" the grape shot shreds two men in the blast, the sound and extra shrapnel set off car alarms.
>Fix bayonet and charge the last terrified rapscallion.
>Bleeds out waiting on the police to arrive since triangular bayonet wounds are impossible to stitch up.
Just as the founding fathers intended.
Pic related, its me.

reminds me of a nagamaki, but i know that likely isnt the right term.
bet it could fuck somebody up though
What does /k/ think of this design? Obviously based on other auto cocking revolvers however the barrel will make a complete gas seal allowing for suppression. Any other /k/oncept artists?
>>31990326
Apologies for ant image btw, posting off old 3G phone
This looks super gay. Anything much bigger than .22lr will make an eight round cylinder way too fat to ever conceal, so you might as well put a 4-6" barrel on it.
>>31990342
Who said concealment? You are aware that 8 round cylinder 357s already exist right? Blah blah you can add a bigger barrel later and the action will still work. Idiot
so im building my first ar15. already have the stripped lower and im wondering if all that "boutique" stuff like salient arms bcg and crazy barrels and all that is worth it?
I dont want to build a barebones ar15 but im wondering if all that expensive stuff is worth it?
No. Get parts that are mil spec or better and it's hard to go wrong.
>>31990296
Most of it is just for taking pictures of. Get expensive part, brag on /k/.
PSAs stuff is somewhat cheap and decent. There are plenty of others. The thing is, if you're wanting anything non-standard, like non-plastic handguard, decent optics, more convenient charging handle, etc., You're pretty much stuck with overpriced boutique.
>>31990296
Certain parts are worth it. Triggers are nice, a larger charging handle is cool, too. Some fancy BCG's work better when they have less lube on them. IF you get the cheapest pot metal BCG the internet has to offer you can expect shit to rattle loose and break on them. You don't need the most expensive shit out there, but buy from a reputable fabricator/distributor and check reviews on the parts when you do.
Don't forget to tack a lot of cheap, cool-looking airsoft shit on it and list it on Armslist for $1,500 as a custom AR.
