Any of you /k/ommies live in CA?
I wanna buy a cheap hi-point handgun just for fun, target range and stuff and by default some basic home defense.
Do I need a gun safe? Anything I need to do?
Also, recommendation for affordable first gun?
I went shooting the other day and it was fun, so I'd like my own gun to practice with at the range.

You have a few options as far as an affordable first gun. I could give you a pretty big list. However next year you wont be able to get a Normal AR-15 so if you have the cash buy one like Right now.

New attempt (16.11.2016!) by the EU commission to ban specifically:
- Civilian firearms of “AR 15 family”, also derivates
- Civilian firearms of “AK47 family”, also derivates
- ALL detachable magazines above 10 rounds (also for handguns, repeating-firearms, rimfires etc.)
- Strong regulation of magazines and semi-automatic firearms
- Stricest evaluation of exemptions
Immediate decision on bans, since “EU citizens” demand more protection!

I got both of mine just a few years ago for under 600 each. Converted one by hand (308), but the other (5.56) came ready to roll.

How fast should I be able to draw my CCW? Does it matter that much or should I be more concerned about not fucking it up or gripping low or something?
Do i really need to practice it and be quickdraw mcgraw or am I good as long as I get it out in a timely manner? Obviously it takes longer to draw if your hands aren't on your gun

Alright /k/, pick a standard rifle for every U.S. citizen to own based off what would be logical.
1. Ease of use for beginners and adv. users.
2. Availability of rifle in North America, obv.
3. Effective in defensive AND offensive scenarios.
4. Easy to maintain.
5. Cheap and plentiful ammo
6. High quality, accurate, good range, recoil is manageable, ect.
Basically, the best bang for your buck In America.
