Need ideas please. Pepper spray is illegal in Australia. Is there anything else aerosol I can carry in my handbag to at least delay (ideally drop) an assailant?
I do carry knitting needles with halfassed scarf.
Need more.

Anyone know of a way to make my Tokarev mags drop free? I'm really sick of having to pull out every mag to reload.
Some background:
>Don't care about dropping full mags, just empty ones
>Empty mags WILL drop... But only when the slide is forward. And when the hell am I ever going to need to drop a mag if my slide is not locked back?
>As soon as the slide is locked back, it becomes impossible for the mag to drop free, I have to pull it out
>Gun in question is a Polish TT-33, no magazine safety, no added safety whatsoever
>The hammer being back or forward has no bearing on whether or not the mag will drop, ONLY the position of the slide
I've narrowed down the issue to a little button on top of the hammer assembly that gets pushed down when the slide goes over it, this button pushes down a little lever thing that slightly pushes the trigger downward.
I'm not really sure where to go from here
My 1911s mag will drop, if theres a wee bit of pressure on the trigger. Dunno if that helps tho
>>32141814
I've tried this too, doesn't make a difference. I don't know why though. I'm thinking of just filing down all the points on the magazines that show wear and seeing what happens

Do you have multiple mags?
> I am not an FFL so your FFL must be able to receive it from a private party
Why do I see this? Do these motherfuckers think they can just mail guns? I see this shit all the time and I'm like, yeah great let me find an FFL that is fucking retarded enough to accept this. Seems like most FFL wouldn't even if I'm wrong. I am 99% sure you have to do FFL to FFL to mail a gun, so what the fuck.
Its this "west german unfired" walther I was looking at
http://www.gunbroker.com/item/602225961
also this guy has 78 reviews and had has 4 guns for sale, how is this nigga not an FFL. Explain this shit.
My FFL has received guns from individuals. The last gun I bought was shipped from a non-FFL actually.
>>32141638
Perfectly legal to mail a rifle to an FFL if you are unlicensed. For handguns, the only way an individual can do it is UPS or FedEx 1 day. Since this person listing the auction wrote "ground" in the description, he is likely retarded enough to risk the legal consequences. Fortunately, most FFLs don't care enough to report violations to the ATF.
So what exactly does the Green Berets specialize in?
defending mcdonalds when the russian paratroops are deployed on US soil ala Red Dawn
>>32141621
Wearing green berets.
Wtf is going on in this pic lol
Will these ever come back? It's American, and it's sexy, plus dat folding stock. I'll admit i'm kinda a hipster so i would rather have one than a AR-15. Any of you guys know if they are now more expensive than a decent AR? or have they gone to the collecter's side?
>>32141583
Sadly, they probably won't come back. Tooling was destroyed and you'd have to reverse engineer one.
And yea, they're really fucking expensive. I paid $1000 for a my Sterling in 2014. Howas and Costa Mesas are easily worth double.
>>32141583
No they won't come back. The ACR, SCAR, and g36 basically took the gas operating system from it so I guess you could just get one of those if you want a "modern, I'm too cool for ar-15" ar-18.
>>32141603
I paid the same for mine last year.
They're being slowly but surely reverse engineered by a few enthusiasts, but as far as mass production goes, the 180b version armalite put out a few years back was probably the last hurrah.
It's basically lost technology now; they have no clue how they cost effectively secured the barrel extensions to the receiver on the originals
Why don't some gun ranges allow steel case ammo?
I bought some Winchester ammo. I didn't realize it was a steel case initially. Now I'm stuck with 300 rounds.
>>32141487
Because they're too lazy to sort it out of the brass.
>>32141487
because they're cheap faggots who scoop up everyones brass afterwards and sell its for 30 cents a case
>>32141507
>>32141509
well, fuck.
I think there's one range that may allow it. I'm going to try tomorrow. If not, I'm stuck with this.

Whos your favorite gun manufacturer and why?

I've bought many of there guns, the scorpion, cz75, and the 550, easily put 1000 probably more into the scorpion, and I've had the 550 for so long it's hard to remember. I've never had any issues with anything, and i love the quality.
is the FS 550 free floating?
>>32141368
yes it is

Me too. They probably make more shit that I'm actually interested in owning than any other single gun manufacturer. The 75 line of pistols, the Mauser bolt actions, the Bren along with the excellent Dan Wesson 1911s and revolvers...I appreciate that they've stuck with more tradition manufacturing methods and product lines, at least until recently. Little use of MIM, no plastic striker pistols until literally like three days ago...
Ruger would be my second choice. Their stuff is generally tough and well engineered, as well a good value. Especially their revolvers.
Is it just me, or do a lot of servicemen/veterans have a superiority complex when it comes to discussing politics? Like, "I fought for this country, so I'm the final authority on freedom", especially when it comes to 1st amendment stuff, is one I've seen a lot. Has anyone else noticed this?
>>32141343
I've fought for this country, and your thread fucking sucks.
>>32141343
This isn't something unique to the military, but people who have been to college and hold degrees have the same mindset, it's more so that these people have achieved something that you have not that makes them feel superior, now the question is DOES that make them superior to YOU is really up to how you value experiences.
>>32141343
standard militarist delusion is that they fought for "your freedoms", you can't expect logic from anyone stupid enough to believe that
So, how common is it to find guns/gun parts metal detecting?

driving cross country one coast to the other want to take a gun with me.
but here's the catch. ill be leaving the US from my destination
i don't want to take anything i currently own because there's a good chance i wont see whatever i leave behind again. I wont return to the US for up to 5 years once i leave.
what gun do I buy?
should i just go without? i mean is it worth it to buy a gun for what amounts to less than a week of driving. However i will be staying for about a month in a very rural area where i may need a gun, or at least get chance to shoot for fun.
compact is a plus, i drive a small hatchback that will be full of other crap.
also i prefer cheap

i dont think a long gun will be that helpful in a car.
I dont have CCW,
is a handgun my best option?
>>32140879
You want a gun for self defence for a momentary lapse in time?
First you need to figure out what size of weapon you want, I'd get a handgun. It would also be desirable to be able to sell it once you've arrived at your destination. So you'd wan't something easy to sell that would hold its value. I'd recommened buying my great grandfathers Luger from WWII. He was a Nazi Soldier who killed more than a few folks with it from what ive been told. 1.2K
>>32140879
While the nature of the trip is confusing to me, a pump shotgun would be a good choice if you insist on bringing a gun and will maybe be hunting.
In its favor a pump, or at least all common current production, can be taken down by removing the barrel, shortening the gun for transport. A Mossberg or Remington would also be reasonably priced and easily resold. You are also less likely to have issues with local laws with a basic shotgun.
Alternatively, you could just get a handgun, though at the expense of some field utility. People are also more skittish about buying used handguns, at least in my experience.

Inexplicable?
My dad's best friend was a kid during "The Troubles" in Ireland. He remembers being woken up multiple times in the night from car bombings and gunfights down the street. He still doesn't understand what the fuck the whole point of that was, but is a diehard IRA supporter to this day. God bless independence.

Typical.
The new zealand air force scrapped its strike wing in the 90s and can't into expensive planes.
What would you buy if you were in charge? I was thinking AT6s or something like the F20
>>32140833
They're not looking for anything.
But on the market.
There's a dedicated LIFT/light attack/recce like
FA-50, L-159, Scorpion, M346 and Hawk
There are turboprops designed for light attack like
EMB 314 Super Tucano, AT-6 Wolverine and IOMAX's Archangel
