Varies from country to country. American apex was the 80s/90s seals dressed like the guys at the start of Tears of the sun with the green flightsuits. Bongs were either the Iranian embassy black suits or the Gulf war SAS m16a2/desert dpm/shemagh setup. Russians are probably the late 2000s because Gorka suits look SO much slicker than the Flora Ratnik shit set to replace them and before them it was just an unholy unstandardised mess of every pattern under the sun.

Misrepresented reports of active shooter thread?

Obviously, this guy adhered to the "gun free zone". Yet he still managed to do damage.

Go figure

What would cause this on only the last round in an AK pattern rifle? bolt rails aren't too high. Functions well otherwise. Mag spring too weak? Bullet guide too low?

Probably a magazine issue, could be the spring or maybe the it pokes out of the mag after the second to last round is pushed out.
>>
If it only happens on the last round, I would assume it's a problem with the magazine. Spring is probably worn or dirty magazine

Even with the discount, you're probably paying too much for what it is. Aside from the dead bird logo, what does that jacket provide that other jackets do not? If you're never going to use it, why are you spending money on something that's just going to take up space in your closet. If you need a jacket for actual use, you'd be better of buying a jacket from a normie company like Colombia or something and allocating the money you save into something else, like a moving company to get yourself out of California. It's your money, do what you want, but I wouldn't.

This is a study by Airbus for a possible manned replacement of the German Tornados past 2030.

>Airbus believes the operational environment in 2030-2040 could require the use of a combination of manned fighters and unmanned aircraft. Described by the company as “mules”, the latter could perform roles such as reconnaissance, target acquisition, electronic warfare and even air strikes.

>Airbus Defence & Space’s early concept involves the use of a two-seat fighter, with one crew member to be responsible for command and control and manned-unmanned teaming tasks.
>>
>>32144018
Airbus also talks about reusing parts of the Europfighter for that new aircraft to shorten the developement of the aircraft.

A while back I made a thread about side mags and how there doesn't seem to be a good reason why they died out.

Anyway, after further research I think it's safe to say that making a side-magazine military rifle that would still be a good weapon today would be as easy as modernizing the FG42.
And I don't mean turning it into an M60.

To back up some of my statements I'll have video links marked with *

So anyway, here are the benefits of a side magazine as I see them:

- Reduced overall length. Not as much as a bullpup, but still a significant amount*
- Good balance. Also because action is further back. The side mounted magazine doesn't cause discomfort*
- Good reloads. Magwell stays in the LOS of a right-hander at all times. Lefties can tilt the weapon for easier access to the magazine. Making mags drop free is probably not viable, but that's not all too desirable in a military rifle anyway as you want to hang on to your empties.
- Mags don't get in the way when prone. This means that you could theoretically make some ludicrously long mags for specific situations (will be touched on later)

As for the FG42 design itself, here's what's good about it:

- It features open bolt full auto and semi auto with an astoundingly simple action.
- In open bolt mode, reloading is incredibly quick because you're good to go as soon as the fresh mag's in. The follower holds the bolt open, which then drops onto the full auto sear when the magazine is removed. **
- The recoil spring setup actually makes the stock move as well, taming felt recoil a bit.
- There don't seem to be any inherent reliability flaws in the weapon. Other than the charging handle track and ejection port there are no major dirt ingress points.

Source links and what I'd do in the next post.

>>
>>32143816
>>32143816
The gains of easy reloads is negated by a right side charging handle and having the magazine on one side would really screw with an opposite oriented user.
It does not have good balance and will lean to the left or whatever side the magazine is on; especially so if you plan to have longer magazines.
>>
>>32143816
I was under the impression having a weight hanging off the left side of your gun, like a magazine, will lead your grouping to be low and left on a target as your arm is dragged towards the weight?

I forgot one more point:
- Unlike a bullpup it doesn't need some gimmicky system to stop lefties from eating brass

So now for how I think you could make a decent modern gun out of one. Fundamentally the benefit one of these guns would be that they'd very effectively be able to double as both a rifle and perform decently as a SAW.
Things like rails and modern materials kinda go without saying.

Step 1: Put that thing in 5.56 or whatever intermediate cartridge you choose. I don't think I need to explain why.

Step 2: Add a semi auto bolt catch. Ideally it wouldn't interfere with the fantastic system that's already in place when in open bolt mode.

Step 3: Switch to a non-reciprocating charging handle. This would not only be better for comfort reasons, but it would also allow you to seal off the oprod from the elements.

Step 4: Issue two types of mags: 30 rounders and extended RPK style ones. The idea is that 30 rounders are for regular use, while extended magazines would be for use from a supported position with a bipod, when you want to go full LMG mode.

Step 5: Aim for a rather low cyclic rate. The FG42 fires way too quickly. A sub-600RPM rate of fire would be preferable.

So the result would be a relatively light hybrid rifle/SAW. Extremely fast reloads in open bolt mode combined with extended mags would allow the rifle to spit shitloads of lead out at a rate comparable to a beltfed, and the fact that you could theoretically outfit a whole squad with these things means that you could unleash a sort of "mad minute" in a pinch where everyone goes full LMG.
