Just got a free rifle that was stored in a garage for 20 years. How do I clean the junk on the bolt off? There's also surface rust on the barrel, screws and other bits. How would I clean that off?
I mean if you don't mind losing your Finnish you could use a wire grinder brush.
Or just steel wool
>>32170965
Vinegar
>>32171030
This, or electrolysis.
Who here is interested in wildcats? I am trying to find a few interesting pistol wildcat cartridges. So, that being said, if you could choose on wildcat that you think would make the ultimate full size combat pistol cartridge, what would you choose? I'm looking (hopefully) for something thatd work well for someone with smaller hands, but I'm interested in all suggestions.
Get a 38 super. Everyone likes them if you can afford it.
Necking a .50AE to 9mm would probably make it capable of piercing iiia armor.
Plus, its the practical limit of how big a single-stack magazine could comfortably fit in a hand.

Not relevant at all to the thread, but a cool concept none the less. Thanks for sharing, faggot.
Occasionally I have nightmares when I need to fire my revolver at shit
it either ends up as a light primer strike or an off center hit.
all because some asshole fucked up their Glock, lied and sold it to me.
anyone else have weapon related nightmares
>>32170280
>strip slide completely down
>send to Glock HQ to install $60 night sights
>they do a complete slide rebuild with $100+ worth of internal parts included for free
I'm surprised people tolerate fucked up Glocks.
Unless he sold you a used Glocknade... that could explain it too
>>32170280
Whats fucked up bout yo glock?

There is a kind of dream not associated with any real world event. I
call it the Universal Warrior Nightmare. The most common version of the
universal nightmare is to dream that you cannot get your gun to fire. The gun
jams, the bullets dribble out the end of the barrel, or they bounce
impotently off the bad guy's chest. The puppy, your midbrain, your
unconscious mind, sends a message into your dreams that says, "Boss, I'm
worried. I'm afraid it might not work." Well, who would not be worried?
Many of your brother and sister warriors have such nightmares and there is
nothing wrong if you are having them now or you get them in the future. But
there is one thing you can do that has helped many warriors to make the
dreams go away: train. The puppy is worried, so to calm him you teach him a
few new tricks or polish the old ones. Train hard so that he feels confident.
Lt. Col. Dave Grossman, On Combat
I had one where I was full on hitting a dude in the head with my machete and it just wasn't having any effect. It's a subconscious reminder to train more.
I know a lot of people on /k/ have rare guns but does anyone else have a Glock? I like Glock. Has anyone buried their Glock? I was thinking of torture testing my Glock but I don't want to damage it. I'm sure it will still work if I bury it but will it damage the resale value? I would never sell my Glock. It looks good with oil on it. I don't want to ruin that.
>>32170097
you're a special kind of fucking stupid huh bud?
>>32170123
Is there a way to torture test Glock without damaging it?
>>32170097
I personally would say the FAL is my favorite of cold war era battle rifles, however I have one large gripe with it
>Accuracy
Why are they so much less accurate than a M14 or G3 (or their respective civilian equivalents)
Shitty Belgian engineering, just kidding...
>>32170029

Get a Steyr barrel
Would /k/ choose a Vepr in .308 or an M&P 10?
I'd choose a Vepr. I love my Vepr-12.

So what exactly is going on in California that people are in a frenzy to buy guns? Should I convert my AR I want to sell to CA compliance and send it down there? How do I get in on this? I don't mind profiting off of Calicucks.
>>32169443
yes pack up right now and head down there ASAP
>>32169443
i wasnt aware of any frenzy here for guns. people are just stocking up on ammo like crazy, because they are dumb and think the new law on mail order ammo kicks in at the 1st of the year, when in reality its not until next july

Yeah I saw in the AR-general a few days ago, people were talking about SCAR prices in Cali skyrocketing, citing the assault weapons ban that'll see enforcement come January
Hey, /k/. I'm not much of a sword guy, so I come here to ask what is the difference between a cutlass and a sabre? Thinking about it, they are generally used in the same time period and the same part of the world (Europe around 1600s?) but I could be wrong.
>>32169292
A cutlass is shorter and used in shipboard action.
A saber is primarily a cavalry weapon meant to be used against people on foot. As such, they need to be fairly long.
Cutlasses are generally shorter
Sabre is generally longer. Cutlass seems more of a sword used nautically wear as a sabre seems more something an officer or someone on horseback uses.
I just screwed up really bad at the range today. Probably going to sell my guns and quit.
I was at the range by myself, at a range that doesn't have a range officer. Two other guys show up and take positions on the other side of the range. They reverse their truck up next to the shooting benches so they can lay down in it's bed and shoot prone. It's a 200 yard range, it's dark and raining; they are wearing dark clothes.
They keep running out on to the range while I'm reloading to change targets without telling me, almost gave me a heart attack when I go to start shooting again and see one of them went onto the range without saying. I can't even see them half the time they go onto the range because of their clothes and the weather.
They're shooting from the bed of the truck where I can't even see them to know where they are. When I call a cease fire and return to the line they don't even always respond when I ask if the range is clear.
I call a cease fire and go to change my target. Return to the line, one of the guys is at the shooting bench with his guns like he's good to go. Don't see the other guy on the range. Didn't bother to ask if the range was clear because of them not responding. The other guy had just been shooting from the bed of the truck where I couldn't see him so I thought he was there. The guy had decided to go and run down to the end of the range and I couldn't see him. I could've killed the guy. Knowing that they had been running out without telling me before I should have been looking out. I should have kept asking if they were good to go even if they didn't always respond.
I've been shooting for years and have never made a mistake like this before and never thought I would screw up this badly. I'm absolutely mortified with myself and I think I'm just going to sell my guns and quit, that is way too serious of a mistake. Does anyone have any suggestions on the best place to sell guns?
>Going to a range to shoot
Theres your problem
>>32169186
I don't have any land to shoot on.
>>32169176
Yes you should have kept pestering them so you're partly to blame, but If some dude is not following the safe range procedures, not keeping up good communication with the other shooters, then they are the ones being dickheads not you. Think about what happened, use it to remind yourself that you can't always count on others to follow the rules. Its the same as driving. Are you going to quit driving and sell your car because somebody ran a red light and you t-boned them? Nah bro, you're ok.
A customer of mine entrusted me with his grandfather's m1911 he carried in Europe, and again in the Korean conflict... she was a dirty bird she I got her, and the slide release wasn't working. After a fun evening of enjoying this national treasure she's 100% ready to rock. I didn't even charge the guy to do it. The honor was payment enough. Pic very related.
Here's the other side
Can it fire normal 9mm NATO or do you have to buy old ammo

Just got this Remington 870 Wingmaster and want to configure it for home defense. Any suggestions?
Load #00 buck
Boom, done
>>32168870
This. But If you must do more get a mag extension and a forend with a rail to mount a flashlight.
>>32168857
>defense? you've modified it to kill effectively proving you wanted your neighbor jamal toenter your home when you taunted him and left your window open and your vehicle in another location!
they will string anything together, only modify "because it wasn't useful before" like if you're really fucking small or expect a small wife to use the shotgun, you can then put on a pistol grip and argue that in court
https://youtu.be/Y62aUKbD5yI
M&P pistols vindicated, haters can hate all they want, but macs failures in water were clearly not the gun.
>>32168460
It's still a gun that feels like crap in hand. For that alone I won't carry or use one.
>>32168460
So, dunking it in water = MACs torture test.
No, I don't think so.
>>32168631
The issues only happened after the water bath... I still think it was crap ammo with hard primers... Mine would have a bad time with hard primers before I got an extra power striker spring.
Thoughts on this keyboard warrior?

Other than the question that begs to be asked... as in literally who and why would anyone fucking care about some faggot's Instagram
