Sup /k/,
I normally shitpost on /g/ and /o/ but I came here to ask about knives.
What, in your opinion, is the Thinkpad of knives
>durable as fuck
>stylish design
>spillproof
Need a knife for general use. Can be fixed or folding.
Buck 110.
Best.
Anything that doesn't have a clip.
FUCK CLIP KNIVES
>>32195851
also this
We have an admittedly slow Knife General here, which would be a better place for this. >>32180671
That aside, if you're talking about a used Thinkpad kind of budget, I'd vote for the Kershaw Skyline. Something about its looks just reminds me of the Thinkpad.
Other options under $100 or so could be a Spyderco Delica or Endura, or maybe a Benchmade Griptilian or Mini-Grip.
I'm not exactly from here, so I'll just drop this there and go.

This isnt that much different than what /k/ really is
So why aren't Americans able to watch it?

I want to get a 9mm pistol. What should I get? Considering pic related or CZ 75 SP-01
9mm general discussion.
>>32232501
Have you considered the CZ P10 C?
Everyone I've seen had nothing but rave reviews so far.
Also what's your budget, that really determines a lot.
>>32232501
Go to a gun store and handle every gun you are thinking about. A lot of people will tell you "X" gun is so great but a lot of times the best gun is the one that feels best in your hands and has controls you are comfortable with.
That being said I dislike the CZ75. I find the M92FS or Glock 19 better.
you can get M9's kinda cheap now. from what i hear the marines r readopting the 1911 so there r a bunch of surplus M9's on the market now
What do you guys think about John Wick? I've seen it here before as a /k/ approved movie, so lets talk about it. What do you think about the choreography for the gunfights, and the actual guns themselves?
http://www.imfdb.org/wiki/John_Wick
I've seen it four times now... so, I guess I liked it alright.
>>32195638
Good but a little too much bad guy waiting to be punched and it had one of those scenes where the character is sitting in a car and people shoot the car up but he's fine because lol car. I hate that but the blind sniper shot through stain glass at an impromptu location really took me out of the illusion. So I'm saying some of the action tried to go over the top too much but other scenes were great. That's my "gun owning" perspective but..
Good acting and movie.
>>32195638
It was okay. The gunplay was great but really lost me at parts.
What is the best aftermarket trigger for a Glock 17?
I am going to replace the sights and trigger only, none of that ZEV/Agency Arms bullshit.
Maybe you should have bought another pistol instead of one renowned for it's cheap plastic construction and water-gun plunger trigger.
>>32195613
This.
Should have went with a cz, buddy.

Ask Lenny Magill on Glockstore.com
Is it a bad idea to clone the M16a4 as your first AR15?
I read that the full 20" rifle with stock is too long to be used indoors, but some other people also said that its okay if you're not wearing armor or a bulky chest rig.
Conscripted retards in Vietnam could figure out how to use a full size M16. You can too.
Nah man. Im gonna buy a nationalmatch ar for my first one. I kind of want the a4 from fn but i dont think you can compete with it.
>>32195499
It's not that I can't figure out how to use it. If I'm going to be using this AR for HD, it would be a lot easier to have a shorter 16" barrel with a collapsible stock. I want an a4 clone for the aesthetics, and it's also been said that the rifle length gas system is the most reliable, and a 20" barrel gives the best velocity.
I know mine.

Anyone here a former legionaire? How was it? Is it true that recruits get raped as a form of "punishment"?
>>32195336
Is that true? Sign me up haha
>>32195336
There has been a few ex-legionairres on here in the past. Don't know about recently.
From what I can tell it is super low-budget, very abusive toward recruits, and the end of the line for a lot of these guys. I've read a bit about it, and it doesn't sound great at all. Striking uniforms, though.

I was watching some old docs on tank battles and it got me wondering about modern warfare.
Tanks have effective ranges of approx 3,500 meters, rockets don't need clear lines of sight, artillery is much more advanced, and air superiority completely removes the need for ground support.
The last statement might not be entirely true, but I'm confused as to how infantry won't be blown to bits the moment they enter the battlefield against a modern enemy. Will large scale tank battles ever exist? Will infantry be used for anything but clearing "fragile" areas (I assume no one wants to completely demolish certain buildings to kill an enemy).
What will modern war look like (barring nukes), will it just be 20 minutes of rockets and the battle is won?
If you're talking about two equal foes, most of the time I imagine that the things you listed would be first focused on taking out eachother, before going after enemy infantry, because your infantry can deal with them, right? Second, footsoliders are a very versitile element, that are capable of knocking out a multitude of very dangerous enemy equipment with A. The appropriate gear, and B. a bit of planning and a dash of luck. And Third, probably the most important, is the fact a tank or jet cant clear a strategic zone/basement/bunker/building without leveling it, thus leaving the good ole' grunts to go get their hands dirty doing whatever is needed of them. Granted, I'm no expert, but thats just how I imagine it playing out.
>>32195246
The soldiers will be fine. They just need the protection of Zodd the Immortal
>>32195384
The problem i'm seeing is that one can't guarantee that the enemy rockets will focus 100% on one's own rockets.
Can I not assume that both forces are going to know where their enemies equipment is located?
Again I know essentially nothing about modern tactics.
>>32195394
We're going to assume Zodd isn't in the scenario or even an A-10 isn't going to help
How hard is it to apply for a NFA Tax Stamp to purchase SBRs and SBSs. Does the ATF easily give them out if you apply?
All I know there is a one time fee of $200
OK, you need a tax stamp for every SBR or SBS you buy, plus $200 for each one
if you aren't a criminal/illegal alien/nutjob/live in shitty state, youre pretty much guaranteed to be approved
takes several months, but may have been sped up recently
>>32195296
Does that apply to the whole gun? Or only to the upper?
>>32195430
Whole gun, tard. An upper alone isn't an SBR.

So I've found a lot of contradictory definitions and opinions online and even asking legit historians, blacksmiths, and fans.
What is the distinction between the assorted reach weapons and how is it determined? Partly for research, partly for curiosity.
The main ones I see coming up are the glaive, halberd, spear, battlehammer/axe (tiny blade head atop a long shaft), etc.
Hoping someone can put this straight. Please feel free to include others, these are just the ones I keep running across.
>>32195127
What are you asking? How to tell a halberd from a spear? Or wut polearm is gud?
>>32195157
How to tell the difference, whether making or purchasing? Telltale signs, unique attributes, whatever sets one apart for the other aside from "what locals call it"
>>32195127
They're called polearms, there's literal hundreds of variations and sometimes not even the experts agree, so do the research yourself.
