Hey /k/, gun illiterate pleb here. I'm turning 21 on Wednesday and I'm looking to get my CHL ASAP. What handgun would you guys recommend I get? I'm looking for something easily concealable but still packing enough punch that I'm not gonna have to shoot someone five times to put them down.
>>32199261
Hahahaha
Ok, Google is your friend. Go to a gunstore and ask to fingerfuck the 9mms to see what best fits in your hand. Go from there.
>>32199261
>gun illiterate
>as soon as I turn 21 I want to start "packing"
And wiggity why is thiggity that?
>>32199298
Because my job involves driving all around Houston, mostly in the poorer blacker areas, and digging holes in people's front yards. I've already been threatened with guns three times and I've only done this job for a year. I don't wanna risk the fourth asshole being the one that's actually crazy enough to pull the trigger.
Why does this rifle exist? Who's idea was this for Mossberg to tacticool up a lever action?
>>32199068
freedom
I've seen tactical overunder shotguns.
zombiefags
My wife took the kids to see her parents for the weekend. What should I do tonight? inb4 hookers and blow.
To keep it /k/, I'll post .380's.

What should I drink while I clean my guns? I have pork ribs.

Okay.

Maybe later.
Newbie question:
I'm a translator and I'm translating the following phrase,
"There's a round in the chamber, so just pull the hammer back and it's ready to fire."
A character is teaching another character to fire a gun. My question: are "rounds" and "bullets" are the same thing here? Can I translate "round" as a "bullet"?
Thanks, guys.

Yes.

Thanks, guys!
We haven't had one of these in a while, most the best/funniest /k/ related stuff you've got.
hey /k/, looking to get my CHL soon. I don't know a fuckton about guns so I'm wondering what the general consensus is here on what the best defensive carry is
looking for something medium sized.

pls respond
RESPOND
Most of these threads belong to /QTDDTT/
Anyways, the usual here as far as I recall is something slim, lenght doesn't matter much. Revolvers are garbage CC unless you want a HD then anything goes as long as its not a .22
Look for something .380 and get the right ammo, or 9mm.
The war starts tomorrow.
No nukes, biological, or chemical weapons
Who wins?
everyone else
>>32198701
The rest of the world.
US vs any other single country alone is an obvious win for America though.
America is severely outnumbered and outgunned.
If the US had a decade to prepare maybe it'd have a chance.
Guy at work wants to sell me this Security Six with "a couple boxes" ammo and a case for $180, what do you think? Should I take him up on it? Pic related
He assured me it's not really upside down irl
>>32198673
Really shitty pic
Doesn't even have the whole gun in frame.
The grip is banged up but that's cheap and easy, the finish is a bit fucked too. Only two pictures I have, I was gonna go meet up with him in a couple hours and take a look
How many of you fucks even own a firearm?
None
Thats why we have to pretend we do on a vietnamese oil painting web page
>>32198536
I own some guns
I'm not really sure where I left them though
>>32198536
I own literally none. I want to and I'm planning to, but you can sum up pretty much my entire life outside of shitposting with those words, so it's still a work in progress.
Just think about it, an AWACS plane that launches a stealth cruise missile that carries bvr missiles and have radar and controlled by the AWACS
Why no one thought about this before? Am I a genius?
>>32198175
What problem is this meant to solve?
>>32198186
Oh...didn't think about this
>>32198186
Well after deep thinking, it increases the range of the missiles so much and it can shoot down the hostile aircrafts without them knowing where the missiles came from.
It's a brilliant idea, if you think about it
why modern battles never get as crazy as the battles 2000 years ago?

Most of the historical accounts were most likely exaggerated.
Anything over 500 yrs ago assume is mostly hype.

It really kind of makes sense for a clip to be shaped like that since it does lay flat.
Please debate this one for me /k/. Is 9mm an ideal bear stopping round?
Ballistics by the inch shows that 125 gr. +p 9mm out of a 16 inch barrel travels at 1430 fps. It also shows that a very similar 125 gr. 357 round has a velocity of 1496 fps out of a 4 inch 357 mag barrel.
If a 4 inch 357 magnum is what many use to take down bear in a survival situation, wouldn't a 16 inch 9mm carbine be nearly equivalent but with faster and many more follow up shots?

Capacity. The bear cannot breathe if you remove his lungs.

Thought about replying. Fucking blondes, what are you a nig? Brunettes man.
Is it just me or does looting and hunting sound like the dumbest thing to do post shtf. Everyone without proper food stores will be dead within a month or two regardless of how much they can loot or hunt, these resources are very finite. Why don't most preppers advise homesteading / growing your own food? There will come a time afterward that society will need to rebuild itself, plant crops , build housing or infrastructure and bring back the rule of law. Why don't most peppers think of the long term is it just a masturbation fantasy for them? How would you defend your homestead /k/? Who would you let in and why, society cannot be rebuilt by only a few people on one farm.
>>32197637
If you homestead you better live somewhere remote or make sure you are the biggest and baddest motherfucker around. Nothing says "Come rape my asshole" Like a house with a big ass garden out front.
>>32197637
Preppers advise storage because it makes a lot more sense than either looting or homesteading. Unless you already are a farmer, in which case the point is moot.
SHTF scenarios are fantasies for people mostly. Most of the "prepping" people I've met are also on blood pressure medicine and would probably end up having a heart attack or stroke within a year anyway.
Is quiet .22LR in a CCW viable? They make it in HP and it costs just as much as any .22LR. I don't want to ruin my hearing. You could basically shoot this stuff in your backyard in the suburb and tell people it's your BB gun from how quiet it is.
>>32197502
Against squirrels and rabbits maybe
Quiet .22s wont cycle most semi autos reliably.
>>32197502
>Is quiet .22LR in a CCW viable?
>>32197554
A .22LR revolver with subsonic hollow points is still a deadly weapon.
Supposedly the majority of defensive gun uses involve just drawing your weapon and having the aggressor run off, or firing under 3 shots.
Just don't expect it to drop a grown man as easily as a larger cartridge if you actually need it to.
9mm is not going to ruin your hearing.
I have had much louder go off without hearing protection in and only have minor tinnitus.
