Anyone here also do archery?
>>32240468
I use a Barnett Ghost OP and can stack a group within a fist sized target at 80 yards.
I want to paint my bow black and get rid of the FUDDPAT camo.
>>32240468
I'm in MA, so when I turned 18 I got one for my birthday, since I saw getting guns here as impossible.
It isn't, but it's a pain.
Parker Enforcer's a fun little thing, pulling bolts out of targets chafed my hands, though. Shooting it was fun when I could, but few archery ranges have crossbow targets, so I have to drive a while every time I wanted to use it.
If SHTF I'll probably keep it on me because why not. I have memories with it.

Yesterday, December 7, 1941 — a date which will live in infamy — the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan.
The United States was at peace with that nation, and, at the solicitation of Japan, was still in conversation with its government and its Emperor looking toward the maintenance of peace in the Pacific.
Indeed, one hour after Japanese air squadrons had commenced bombing in the American island of Oahu, the Japanese Ambassador to the United States and his colleague delivered to our Secretary of State a formal reply to a recent American message. And, while this reply stated that it seemed useless to continue the existing diplomatic negotiations, it contained no threat or hint of war or of armed attack.
It will be recorded that the distance of Hawaii from Japan makes it obvious that the attack was deliberately planned many days or even weeks ago. During the intervening time the Japanese Government has deliberately sought to deceive the United States by false statements and expressions of hope for continued peace.
The attack yesterday on the Hawaiian Islands has caused severe damage to American naval and military forces. I regret to tell you that very many American lives have been lost. In addition, American ships have been reported torpedoed on the high seas between San Francisco and Honolulu.
Yesterday the Japanese Government also launched an attack against Malaya.
Last night Japanese forces attacked Hong Kong.
Last night Japanese forces attacked Guam.
Last night Japanese forces attacked the Philippine Islands.
Last night the Japanese attacked Wake Island.
And this morning the Japanese attacked Midway Island.
Japan has therefore undertaken a surprise offensive extending throughout the Pacific area. The facts of yesterday and today speak for themselves. The people of the United States have already formed their opinions and well understand the implications to the very life and safety of our nation.
As Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Navy I have directed that all measures be taken for our defense, that always will our whole nation remember the character of the onslaught against us.
No matter how long it may take us to overcome this premeditated invasion, the American people, in their righteous might, will win through to absolute victory.
I believe that I interpret the will of the Congress and of the people when I assert that we will not only defend ourselves to the uttermost but will make it very certain that this form of treachery shall never again endanger us.
Hostilities exist. There is no blinking at the fact that our people, our territory and our interests are in grave danger.
With confidence in our armed forces, with the unbounding determination of our people, we will gain the inevitable triumph, so help us God.
I ask that the Congress declare that since the unprovoked and dastardly attack by Japan on Sunday, December 7, 1941, a state of war has existed between the United States and the Japanese Empire.

Alright, /k/; time for another one these. It doesn't matter if you like to yell 1312 or 1488, you need to know what you're gonna wear when the day of the rope comes.
for cold weather
what is the point of striker fired guns? What is wrong with cocked and locked single action?
>>32239796
>hammer vs no hammer
there you go OP its a matter of preference, now go kys.
>>32239796
Look at the gross high bore axis of the sig and HK vs the glock. That's the fuckin benefit of not having a fuckhuge gay ass exposed exterior hammer system on your gun.
>>32239976
Bitchwrists detected.
What 1-4 optic do you use, /k/? I'm in the market for one to put on my 16" AR and can't decide.
Budget is $1,500 for the optic with pic related being the front runner
that exact one but with a bdc reticle.
i love the thing. super duper clear. the illumination isn't quite noticeable on sunny days though.
got a bangin deal on mine and it was worth every shekel.
For a 1-4 you want a reticle like the Primary Arms ACSS or similar. Mildot reticles are typically for long range uses and first focal plane scopes. I'd do an ACOG/RMR, Razor Gen ii 1-6, or accupoint.

vortex strike eagle and spend the rest on other shit
I'm a trijicon dealer and I don't even like their stuff.
Here is a weird question. I was asked to go out and harvest mistletoe tomorrow. Apparently people in the South hunt for mistletoe with shotguns growing in oak trees. I live in Southern Illinois. Is it here and can you blast it out of the tree with a shotgun?
>>32238873
>can shotgun
Yes
>is it here?
Yes
>how find?
Go into the wilderness and keep your head skywards. It likes oak, but takes to almost anything. Look for trees that look somewhat sickly as that could be an easy indicator of its presence.
If you feel like coming to Denton, Maryland then I know a big patch of trees that is just fucking infested with it.
>>32238919
So, is mistletoe an epiphyte, like an orchid?
>>32238959
it's more like a vine or creeper
Is it wise to carry pocket sand as a self defense mechanism?
For example, if a mugger asks for your wallet, you reach into your pocket (as he expects) and then pocket sand him
Post your pocket sand experiences ITT
>>32238822
Sure, but what if that sand were a pistol instead?
>>32238822
All the guys in my squad used helmet sand. We kinda looked down on pocket sand folk.
>>32238822
Seems like a viable idea. Probably wouldn't work for a mugging as one could recover from a good sanding pretty easily. But if you were wrestling over something and you had the upper hand enough to draw your pocket sand, that would probably be the best use.
>how am I supposed to carry it without ruining my clothes when they get washed?
I'm gonna be shooting a gun for the first time tomorrow, /k/. What do I need to remember?
>>32238538
Don't be a faggot
Make sure the gun is properly unloaded before you fuck around with it.
Finger on the trigger only when actually shooting.
Keep it aimed at the target.
Have fun
>>32238538
Don't point the gun at anything you don't want to shoot, and don't touch the trigger unless you plan on pulling it. Look up the basic gun safety rules.

How do murifats continue to justify getting ripped off by lockmart?
>>32238250
Because America can afford it.
The 052D would be stealthier than the Burke due to all the flat faces, VLO shaped gun and general smaller size right?
>>32238250
The zumwalt looks so cool desu, like something out of Homeworld
Why do japs complain about nukes when the nukes that got dropped there were tiny? I mean what are THEY to complain.
>>32237892
I've never heard of a Japanese person complaining about nukes. They more of pretend that WWII didn't happen
>>32237892
Japs aren't the ones complaining, it's usually the white americans, it's quite funny.
>>32237892
I've never even read online of Japs complaning. Now I have seen a good bit of americans and euros complaining.
iirc theres even a person outside the white house 24/7 protesting the nukes in a tent.
My only .22 rifle has been a single shot Remington target master
What quality can I expect if I buy a new Ruger 10/22?
>>32237692
two times the firing speed.
>>32237714
no it would be 10/22ths of the normal firing spead, so almost 1/2 as fast
>>32237692
To be laughed at as a pleb by the m60 masterrace
Grandpas just handed me his old Remington sportsman 3 shot autoloader just has a screw missing on 1 side and the huge screw that holds the handguard is also a little flushed now takes a couple turns to get it tight, do they still sell the small parts? I tried checking browning website but couldn't find shit, anyone else had one handed down?
Looks like an a5.
Claoms it a remington.
Wants browning parts.
????
>>32237662
Grandpa's gun thread?
Anybody got a good sling/stock wrap combo for a lever gun with no sling points on it, and doesn't drill in?
>>32237775
I seem to remember years ago seeing a sling/slip on butt pad that tried? or something to the tube magazine.
anyone else think having anything more than a .380 for ccw is overrated?
Chances are you'll never need to use your gun ever, but unless you are a lardass, it is a pain to carry a 9mm day in and day out even with a $100 good iwb holster. It will also print like mad if you lift and have large quads and gluts. a 380 is so much easier to carry, heck you can even dump it in a wallet holster and stuff it into a pocket if you want.
Dress in layers.
Problem solved.
>>32237221
yeah some of us lift and prefer tighter fitted clothing
People over - worry about printing. Get a single stack 9. Wear loose clothing in summer. It's more comfortable, anyway. Nobody is eye fucking your waist. People still live their lives when you carry. The only people that might notice it are other carriers and police. You really only have to worry about the ladder, because they'll shoot you, first chance they get. Since dead men don't tell tales, the cop will be a hero, and you'll be another dead asshole. Either way, you'll further the cause. I know I enjoy a good guy with a gun story. Brings the left to our side.
