Got a paper due on Wednesday for my speech class in which we have "been given the power to establish, repeal, or change one law" .For my paper i am thinking about removing the National Firearms Act of 1934.
Here are my key points so far:
> unconstitutional regulation of 2nd amendment rights
> criminals have no trouble whatsoever acquiring actual handguns and use them for almost all crimes where they use a firearm for their weapon
>law only hurts law-abiding citizens
>criminals have no trouble acquiring semi-automatic firearms and can fire nearly as many shots in the same amount of time as a fully automatic firearm
>people should have the weapons needed to defend the nation in case of a foreign invasion
>people should have access to weapons needed to defend the democratic institutions of this nation in the event of a tyrannical government
>militias had the same weapons the British had during the Revolutionary war
>rifles and shotguns are rarely used in homicides, being involved in 248 homicides out of 15,000 in 2015
Got any other good points or corrections i should make? I just wrote the above down as I went.

case for suppressors is obvious, case for SBR is that well people can already create an illegal short barreled rifle with just a hacksaw, while simultaneously some rifles have to be unnecessary long and clunky just to conform to the law. (like pistol caliber carbines, or pistols with shoulder stocks.
I can't really think of a *genuine reason* you'd want a short barreled shotgun other than fun though, but hell if someone wants something shorter and lighter for lawful purposes why not, when SBS laws don't really stop criminals.
machine guns are not much more dangerous than semi automatic rifles because the latter, in the hands of an experienced shooter, can easily achieve 200-300 rounds per minute versus the 600-900 rounds per minute cyclic rate most machine guns have. and to me, fire rate is really not that important of a factor in lethality, when often one bullet is enough to kill a person anyway.
(be sure to not make that sound like an argument against machine guns AND semi autos lmao)

Provided the heat treat is alright, even "shitty" knives are good.
But it's true to an extent that you get what you pay for. but the fact that most of the "custom" commercial bowies out there are chinese stainless knives made to sit on a wall. But knives with a bowie profile are good.

Brass 9mm (perfecta) for 9.78 a box all day every day.
12 gauge target loads for .20-30 a round too.
Otherwise LGS for 5.45 (30 rounds of wolf for 7.99) and 7.62x54 (9.95/10.95 a box).
I haven't done anything online yet just because shipping ruins the benefit.

I really want to get another gun. I dont really need it honestly, probably would be wise not to, but shit, I want another gun. I have an sks which is fun and cheap enough, and a marlin 70 which i kinda dislike because of the tube magazine but its fun to plink with the scope I have on it. The SKS gets waaay more of my attention, and I love it to death - but I kind of want to get something more accurate and perhaps with a bit more punch.
That all being said, Im not really sure what to get. If they were legal here in the Peoples Democratic Free Republic of New York, I would get myself a super VEPR in .308. Really is up my alley, idk why but that gun really speaks to me. Unfortunately they are banned here because of the thumbhole grips - and the "hunter" stock is impossible to find now. The gun also has barrel ports which may or may not be considered a "muzzle device" depending which government hotline worker you speak to, so no FFL will import them because they dont want to get fucked trying to determine the law for the government.
Since my semi auto options are severely limited, I started looking into bolt guns. However, I DO NOT want some hunk of shit like a mosin. Sure, they are ok - but im not going to drop $250 on a commie gun that isnt even all that great. If im going to get a bolt gun, it needs to be fucking tits. So here is where Im looking for some pointers.
Right now, I've been seeing a lot of good stuff about a Tikka TX3 in .308. 1 MOA right out of the box, really cant find a single bad note about them. The downside is that the variant I want is going to cost just over $1000 (pic related). I would also need to buy a scope for it, which Im assuming will cost me at the very least a few hundred more - I dont know shit about scope but I would want something to match the quality of the rifle rather than buying something "meh" and always yearning to drop even more on another scope in the end.

the tikka is an excellent and beautiful gun.if you want to spend around 2k for a rifle I would highy suggest a colt sauer the action is unlike any ive ever felt.

Well 22 soldiers/ vets kill themselves daily, and sometimes it's really hard not to be a member of that particular statistic. Another issue with the homelessness aspect is that (particularly in combat arms) you become institutionalized, leave with no real skills, and have emotional/ physical instabilities that need treatment you are trained to never accept
