Hey /k/ my 19th birthdays coming up and my dads getting me my first battle rifle. Im torn between the armalite ar10 carbine and the ketlec rfb 24 right now. I also considered a ptr91 and slr107 but pops upped the budget to $2000 for gun, scope, and everything else. What do you think?
>>32311887
What type of shooting are you most interested in? Besides school

>>32311898
lmao, i hunt deer and hog every now in then but mostly i hang out at my buddies dad's range and shoot on the 50, 100, and 200 yd ranges with his ar15, but I like 308 more.
Thinking of buying the Cold Steel Ti-Lite 6" Aluminum for EDC. Right decision?
The 6" is a bit big for EDC
4" is a lot better, and I carry it sometimes
Too big and with too poor a belly profile to be a good EDC, but the pocket catch opening is pretty great. AUS8A is okay at best. Wouldn't recommend one but you could do worse.
t. plebe who carried one for three years until the TSA stole it
>>32311897
Yeah I considered the 4" but my pockets are about 10" long so it shouldn't be a problem

So from what I've gathered, they're a media group based on airsoft, but would travel to Guam to shoot real firearms?

rookie mistake 01
You answered yourself.
But for reference, it's a lot cheaper and a lot easier to fly to Guam, Cambodia, etc than to get a gun license in Japan. so many who are interested in that sort of thing just do that.
Here's a Jap who made a youtube channel related to it.

Is there a market for "Foreign" gun channels? I speak a second Asian language, and can probably pull something off.
What do urbanite apartment dwelling /k/ommandos do for gun storage?
I bought pic related intending to loop the security cable around the closet rack. However the cable doesn't stay in place on the safe and it's become very apparent that the safe is primarily meant to be bolted to the floor, which I can't really do in a carpeted apartment.
I'm going to be buying some longguns soon so this will become even more of an issue.
At this point I'm seriously considering just leaving my pistols hidden but not really secured and hoping nobody burglarizes the place or the maintenance workers don't get too nosy.
Can't you bolt it to the wall, or get a bigger safe with a bolt-on weight plate to make it too heavy to bother with?
Also for long guns, take out a vital part and lock that in the safe and lock the gun (cable through mag well) to something heavy.

A nice video on what not to buy. Basically anything that doesn't weight as much as a small car is only good to hide your guns from babies and to tick of the insurance checkbox and or legal requirements:

Help your HD/CCW with you at all times. Keep the rest in off site storage at a police department armory? I dono man
Hey /k/. I need a rifle for SHTF. I was looking around but have been inconclusive. I need a semi-automatic in .308. Preferably with a 16 inch barrel but I wouldn't mind an 18. I will be using this for CQB, hunting, and plinking to around 600 yards. I was considering a Smith & Wesson M&P 10, a SCAR-17, or a M1A Socom/Scout. Out of those which would you choose? If you wouldn't choose one of those tell me what you would use. Pic unrelated
>>32311425
If money was no object, a SCAR-17 would be fine. Personally, I'd probably pick a DPMS GII Recon or Compact Hunter.
Price isn't an issue? SCAR 17.
M1A would be pretty shitty to use in cqb, MP is a good choice too but as far I know it's just an AR in 308. SCAR 17 is constructed better than an M&P
>>32311425
Of those? anything but the scar.
Have you looked at any g3 pattern rifles?
What weapon is using this ISIS sniper?
''Homemade'' 50 cal.
Looks like it was milled and welded in some repair shop. I swear Syria puts Mad Max to shame.
>>32311387
I suspect it is not the same exact weapon.
Shhhhhhhhhhh...

Gonna be 21 in a few months, time for a NY pistol permit. What should I get as an EDC? I'm attached to 1911 style platforms.

How would you even prepare for this? Iraq just can't catch a fucking break.
On the flip side, imagine the ops that would go down.

Well, they could drain the lake.

I don't believe them but we should test this theory by dropping a nuclear bomb on Mosul.
"Reportedly, the B-2 Spirit has a radar cross-section (RCS) of about 0.1 m2 (1.1 sq ft).[100] The bomber does not always fly stealthily; when nearing air defenses pilots "stealth up" the B-2, the details of which are secret."
How would this work?
Also, it got me thinking. Is it possible for an aircraft to change shape (through movable surfaces, like a swing wing) in flight to make it more stealthy?
pic somewhat related
Entirely possible its simple things like not using certain control surfaces, or closing inlets for ram air intakes.
>>32310865
Think of it like retracting landing gear, except it's retracting all antennas and other protruberances. It's also going to strict emissions control, which may or may not now involve:
>going from omnidirectional to very tight beam directional comms or receive only comms status
>all active sensors secured
>radiated heat redirected to internal reservoirs and engine power reduced to cut IR signature to minimum levels, all radiated heat redirected aft and up where possible
>all nav and external lights secured
>>32310899
I'm thinking this, lock some moving performance-related part to trade performance for stealth

what the hell did you do to your baseplate?
Europoor here, for some time I have been wondering; I keep hearing/reading about Curio and Relic licenses, why does it even exist? I read an article saying more or less "it's great for getting cheap guns", does that mean something like I go to a store, see a $1000 Garand, show my license and the price magically drops to $300?
Before you go calling me a retard, that's what the explanations I have gotten so far sound like.
>>32310752
The reason for the "price drop" is because C&R holders can buy direct from wholesalers, middleman (think like Gander) gets cut out.
>>32310761
that was fast, and exactly zero "retard"s and/or "shouldn't you be at school?"s, my faith in 4chan is returning...
>>32310752
>>32310761
can also get C&R weapons sent to your house without being an FFL i believe
Help me spend money. I have about $2500 burning a hole in my pocket. Pic related is my current fun collection. I was thinking about getting a Ruger Precision Rifle in 6.5 mememoor, or a rifle dynamics AKS74U build.
Please tell me how you would add to this collection.
Oh, and no ARs please. I already have 3 in the works.
