I got one of the VZ2008s when they were $400 for a package deal. Traded it for an A1 build some vietnam vet put together. Slightly wish I could've just bought it outright so I'd still have the VZ

They're nice little rifles. Very light, despite a milled receiver. Very similar operation to an AK except with standard BHO, and a safety that doesn't go thump in the night.

Aftermarket leaves something to be desired. Duh. But honestly the only change I'd make is changing the slant muzzle break for a Czech one. Putting optics on properly is a bitch and have your choice of black or beaver barf furniture, but that's all your opinion as I thought irons were fine.

Basically, if you want a handy, light rifle that you won't change much and is a good conversation piece (as long as you don't get offended over people calling it an AK), Sure go ahead.

I love my vz. It was the first centerfire semiauto rifle I went and bought with my own money and eight years later I still prefer it to my AKs in the same caliber.
>>
Get it. Basically a slav SKS with a pistol grip and higher capacity.

With the recent truck killings, I was wondering.

What's the best way to defend yourself and others, when faced with a truck about to run you over.

Let's assume we would be carrying.

I've seen a weapons platoon unload into a semi and it still took 100 yards before it finally jack knifed over.

Best bet is to get the fuck out of the way or have an rpg on hand

>Let's assume we would be carrying.
Doesn't really matter.
The only thing you can do is get out of the way. Even if you shot out the tires it won't stop the truck in time to save you.

Obligatory

Bought 1917 Eddystone enfield for $650 at a gun show in Denver two days ago. Just got it back home to take a look at it. As the seller said, it's in great condition. Wood has some rough ups on it, but the bore looks great. He said he's never fired it, that it just sat in his closet because he had four others.

Only thing I've come across, is that it doesn't cycle when empty. I don't have any rounds to test it with because this is my first 30-06 rifle I've bought. But is that normal for the M1917 to not cycle on empty? However when I push the feeding platform down a bit, it will fully cycle. I've never had or seen a bolt action do that, so this just might be some design thing I've never heard of before.

>>32379493
Some old bolts do that. The feed ramp gets caught on the bolt. My mauser and mosin do this. My enfield and 1903 don't though. Just push down on it and close the bolt.
>>
>>32379493
Yes, m1917, mauser, 1903 all had followers that would hold bolts open.
>>
>>32379493
Yes that's normal. The following blocks the bolt. A lot of rifles from that era have the same feature.

What would a Scottish military look like? Considering they have all those Islands and a population of only 5m. England has 55m by comparison.

in this hypothetical situation has scotland left the UK? if it did and this is the best situation then it would probably be a small but expensive and well trained army.
realistically scotland would be poor as fuck so it would be a small shitty army.

The White Paper, produced by the Holyrood administration, says it would have an annual defence budget of £2.5bn and at the point of independence it would have a land force of 3,500 troops and 1,200 reservists.

As well as artillery, engineering and medical capabilities, it would also include an aviation unit with six helicopters.

The maritime forces would include two frigates from the Royal Navy's current fleet, four mine counter measure vessels and two offshore patrol vessels.

It would also have other patrol boats and support ships and it would need 2,000 personnel and 200 reservists.

For the air force, it would have a quick reaction alert squadron of 12 Typhoon jets; a tactical transport squadron of six Hercules aircraft and a helicopter squadron. That section of the defence set up would need 2,000 personnel and 300 reservists.

The aim would be to have a total force of 15,000 personnel with 5,000 reservists across the three services after 10 years of independence.
