I'd love to find a heavy-ass solid brass or solid steel mini maglite, but I doubt anyone has ever made such a thing. Or at least I doubt there's anything fitting that description commercially available. But can anyone recommend a particularly good weapon flashlight? One that ran on AA batteries would be best. I'm mainly looking for something that's a good fist load or gouging device, but just has ordinary, regular flashlight capabilities. It doesn't have to be blindingly bright or anything, just a vicious improvised weapon that I can legally carry.

I like my Dark Energy 06 by SOG. Extremely sturdy and feels really solid. Its aluminum and I'd definitely use it as a weapon if i had to. I'm sure the cheaper models are similarly sturdy though

I need help with protective gear, and have no idea what kind of 3M mask, filter cans, gloves, etc I should get.

Can someone please tell me what gun this is
My grandmother wanted to get rid of my grandfathers WW2 memorabilia so i happily took it off her hands.
The rifle seems old but my grandfather was a hunter so i have doubts this was his service rifle.
I also can barley read a serial number but besides that is has no other manufacturer markings on it.
Grand dad was a royal Canadian engineer if that helps at all.

So I'm buying a pvs-14 housing kit tomorrow off craigslist. I'm not too familiar with the system more so with the pvs-7 as I've built them from kits and tubes before. I'm going to test the electonics board by powering it on and putting a volt meter set for 3 volts dc to the positive and negative leads to make sure it's out putting power to where the tube would go. I'm also going to check the objective and ocular lens for damage. Any other tips?

For testing functionality, you seem to have it down. I'm not familiar with the system, but from an electrical standpoint that would more or less cover it. Button functionality and checking that it's not drawing too much power are other key points.
