Should I order one of these for $300?
Pros and cons?
>>32511722
That's $300 you can spend towards it's big brother the AK. If you're just starting out and don't have many, save the money and into AK, later when you've got enough pocket change you won't sweat $300 then pick one up to add to your collection.
>>32511813
Strongly second this. Ak is still relevant, sks was obsolete when they were still designing it.
>pro
you can sell it for $600 in a few years
>con
unless you have a boner for the SKS, you could have just gotten an AK
Hello /k/
The running joke for 2017 between my friends and me is I will finally get my gun rights back. I am currently in motion to push for a pardon. I am looking for some advice.
15 years ago I stole a password on AOL. It was dumb and retarded. At the time it was lulzy and what seemed fun, landed me into a federal case. I spent a little time in a detention where I was released on supervise probation. Nothing about what I did was drug related, violent or hostile. Since my last visit and release with my officer I have completed highschool, got my comunity college credits, held down two jobs, both 5+ years. got my license and even donate my time when I have it. I am not like some perfect role model , Just looking for advice or info on any cases or anything someone may have on mine. Happy new year
>>32511651
have you gotten your voting rights back yet? No? start there. one step at a time. Also, go google "how to restore your gun rights" you get pages like this http://www.vsp.state.va.us/Firearms_Restoration.shtm
>>32511726
yes I have, I have been able to vote for years now.
>>32511651
You stole a password and got your gun rights taken from you? What exactly did you do?
Has anyone taken a CCW class before?
Every time I get the money for it I ended up putting it off then spending it on something else then saving back up for it again repeat a few times.
Now I got it again and put it away where I won't be tempted to take it out and spend it but I'm a bit nervous to go do it even though I really want to.
I've found 2 different places in my area that do classes, and a few other places are all pretty do-able even though I'd kind of prefer not going for a super long drive. Any advice?
pic unrelated
>>32511459
Well if you can't reliably maintain a bank account of $50+ dollars, maybe guns shouldn't be your primary concern.
>>32511459
In my area at least, it was 90% legal talk in a classroom and a written test. The actual shooting part was piss easy. Something like hitting paper (not even silloutte, just paper) of a human target at like 5 meters. Grandmas were doing it.
A CCW class exists to tell you laws and give you the paperwork, not be a high speed operator course. If you've shot a gun before and you understand the concept of "don't pull a gun unless you are in mortal danger" it is a superfluous few hours.
Yeah I took a class, remember its a day class so shit before you go. My class was like 8 hours long, with bathroom breaks and a lunch break.
Do it OP.
Only bad thing was shitty metal chairs we had to sit on in the class.
I know absolutely nothing about guns, how do I get into about guns?
>>32511387
You should lurk for a year before posting such a retarded thread with a ridiculously broad question.
Or Google it. Whatever. Go fuck yourself.
A good place to start would be with the sticky.
>>32511416
that's not bury nice anon.
>>32511387
read the sticky so I don't have to type out anything you can read in it, it has lots of useful basic information
http://amagicalplace.wikia.com/wiki/Sticky
I'm a new shooter. I'm thinking of skipping over the .22 and going right for a bolt action chambered for a larger centerfire cartridge.
Is this a good idea? Am I missing something about 22s and rimfires? Because they look boring as fuck to shot.
>>32511232
.22 is a relatively cheap round and great for new shooters to get used to sight alignment, accuracy, and getting used to shooting. A Ruger 10/22 is a good gun that is semi-auto and has several aftermarket parts, the gun will most likely outlive you if you take care of it. .22 also has low recoil to help with getting used to it.
>>32512326
All of this is true.
That said, if you do skip over it, it's not like you're missing a necessary stage of the training. Just don't be a dumbass and get something ridiculous, like the fuckhead who called my work fifteen times in three days, and came in twice asking if .300 Win Mag "is too much gun" (by the way, that's a phrase I told him the first time he called. He never realized he was talking to me every single time) for SW Virginia.
>>32511232
If you're rich go for it.
New shooters have to fire thousands of rounds to get up to speed. Even if you bought something small like a bolt gun in .556 you're going to be paying the cost of the gun several times over in ammo
I made this airgun. What do you think?
https://youtu.be/22dLkU_tQM0
Nice work.
Awful music.
Well done I guess, there's clearly a lot of craftsmanship gone into it. Seems a bit pointless when you can buy an full-metal airshit M82 for $200, but if that's what you're into.
>>32511217
yes, but this is not softair. has about 10 fpe of energy and also a rifled barrel.
Is he a reliable source of information regarding firearms?
>>32510878
haha memes, we like them here.
now got to bed lil johnny
No, go away.
>>32510878
Yes, but only for britbongs and children.
Looking to get my first revolver, /k/ I want something in .357 and under $500.
Any recs?
>>32510853
Under 500 I'd say a used Ruger GP 100, a new SP 100, or an LCR .357. Is this going to be a carry piece?
>>32510853
Probably should just get a glokc if you're a beginner. Maybe for 500 dollars you could find a yused glock but otherwise, Nah. .357 magnum is way too powerful for you right now, wait until you have more weapons skill, learn from an instructor or family member how to use your new glock
are you going to carry this gun
>>32510853
.357 is shit. Best revolver cartridge is the .38 Special. It served police faithfully from 1899 until the 1990s.
Just get a Model 10 like all the police departments did. No reason for .357 Mag, it's not like you'll really need it.
I have a question /k/.
Do the street light near my bedroom shines in my eyes all night, so I have been shooting it out for the past few months with my pellet rifle.
Is this illegal to do?
Can I get the city to stop reinstalling bulbs because it disturbs my sleep?
>>32510818
Get some fucking curtains
>>32510828
dont stop him, the /k/ube wills it
>>32510818
I want to do this with my next door neighbor's lights. Should man up and just talk to them like a regular person however.
So not to long ago I inherited a Remington 700 from my grandfather. While the weapon functions fine, upon closer inspection, I noticed some rust spots on the bolt handle and along the bolt itself (sorry if the picture is kinda blurry). My question is, can this be reversed, or at least kept from getting worse?
>>32510798
Yes and yes
>>32510798
This is an easy fix. Spray with CLP and apply with a rag.
>>32510798
That's nothing, I have cleaned rust off guns in far worst condition.
Like >>32511193 said, you just need to use CLP, and some elbow grease.
Also some blinker fluid.
So who killed him?
The government.
Probably some asshole he screwed over on an illegal deal or something who knows.
Can I get a tl;dr? This is FPSRussia's old FFL right?
You're in a market and this guy slaps your 2 liter bottle. What would you do?
>>32510727
Nothing. Once hickok sets his sight on a 2 liter, it's as good as dead. Nothing I can do can save my delicious 2 liters of carbonated sugary drink.
Thank Federal and Buds Bud Shop
>>32510727
"Let's take a walk."
I have several accosting types of persons coming to my door step.
>Census Bureau
>Jehovah witnesses
>Federal mail stuffing my fucking inbox with paper spam for credit cards I have never used or wanted
Is it legal to simply answer the door with a pistol or shotgun in hand pointed off to the side and finger off the trigger?
I just want to be left the fuck alone and every other day it is some other cock sucker knocking to waste my time.
>>32510645
brandishing a firearm is illegal.
>>32510645
People like you shouldn't own guns
>>32510651
>>32510653
What is the fucking point of owning a firearm if you cannot present it in a none threatening way to inform everyone who badgers you to fuck off and never come back? I am inside my own residence. I an not pointing it anyone or anything.
I just want everyone to leave my house alone. What is so hard about that?
anyone have that list of /k/ movies? thanks
>>32510612
THATS A BIG FACE
>>32510623
They are the bogdanoff brothers
>>32510629
