Yet another repaired/refitted/refurbished ships thread.
Russia is modernizing the remaining 'alive' Udaloy I destroyers. It will retain its Anti-submarine warfare function, replacing one of its guns with UKSK VLS in order to launch anti sub ASROC, replacing its front ASROC missiles with Uran anti ship missiles and will add another 8 Uran missiles near the stern. It will retain its 533mm torpedo tubes that are used to launch Vyuga anti submarine missiles that can carry torpedoes or nuclear depth charges.
The Urans clearly meant this is not an anti ship warfare ship. The Urans are just Harpoon/Exocet level missiles and are clearly not cut for hunting ships, probably self defense only. It also has 8 Kalibers but those are probably for the Anti subs, since the ship is ASuW.
It's not much but it's extra work for the shipyards I guess, that's probably the only cause for this, if they wanted efficiency and effectiveness they'd buy Chinese.

There were some issues with the extractor at first, but those ought to be fixed if you get a current production one.
The only issue I've heard of if that some of the standard capacity magazines were accidentally outfitted with 10 round "ban state" mag springs. Meaning they'd often feed, but not always. If you load a mag and it "rattles" when you shake the gun, you likely have one of those springs.
Other than that? The main issue is primarily aftermarket support. It's hard to compete with Glocks and S&W M&Ps.
