So I want to get into hunting and pretty set on a classic bolt action rifle. I've never hunted before because my dad was a lazy fuck and never took me hunting.
>what's a good all around round from white tail deers to moose

depends on what state you're in. check your local laws.
the more populous states dont allow hunting bambi with a rifle. only shotgun with deer slugs.
need more info in order to provide better advice.

I live in Georgia so our gun laws aren't terrible thankfully.
I'm just going to leave this here.

A one whole hour compilation with the best moments from the drug wars in the Rio de Janeiro's slums.
Enjoy watching how third world operators do their business and learn how they get to have more war-like combat experience than most American soldiers.
Cheers. Bump if you watch it.

>drug wars in the Rio de Janeiro
>how they get to have more war-like
well, which is it?
Any news from the Brazilian cop in Porto Alegre???
Has anybody else wondered what an American-made narcotank would look like? We've a greater industrial base, better infrastructure, better access to good design software...
If NICS (or your state equivalent) was open to the public, would you voluntarily use it for private sales?
>>32605147
i'd rather have a public database of stolen guns so i could check if a gun i'm interested in has been reported stolen.
Probably. But I'd make sure I got to see what they were convicted for. If it was some bs like possession of drugs, I would sell it to them anyway.
>>32605167
Also this. It could seriously cut down on theft of guns.
>>32605147
No I would not.
I'm looking forward to the day when this idiotic invention gets Trumped into the past and all I need to buy a gun is a MAGA hat and cash.
Alright /k/ommandos, pop quiz, real or fake?
>>32605114
Fake
>>32605114
idk man, it sure looks fake.
Load it, put muzzle to temple and pull trigger then report back.

What happened to the anon that was trying to 3d print the Vintorez rifle? Did it work out ok enough or were the measurements fucked up? I know the blueprints were uploaded and some other /k/ommandos downloaded them, but has anyone else tried printing them?

He realized he was retarded.
Never really see competition threads on /k/ but thought I'd try. You guys DO run around and fire your guns instead of standing in one spot blasting away paper, right? I've decided I'm finally jumping into 3 gun this year and want to be set before the snow melts so I can get my money's worth out of my gear this summer. Because money is an issue for me I'll be competing in the Heavy Irons division and have already bought my guns: CMP garand, a 1911 borrowed from family, and a beater mossberg 500
My questions are
>who makes a decent (or even acceptable) 1911 for cheap? I'd rather bring garbage that's mine than someone else's nice gun. Also, what's a good price for a simple OWB holster? I usually CC so all I know are IWBs
>what shell caddies do you use, and if my gun is 5+1 and I use two 4 shell caddies, is that enough ammo?
>anyone with a garand know competition nuances? I was planning on just tucking clips into my belt or on the sling, but don't know if that's legal.
But let's not make this all about me. While I'd like to focus mostly on 3 gun let's make this competition general so we can get more people in here. I've competed in a lot of IDPA and some USPSA, so if anyone wants to discuss that too let's go. I know there's a bunch of stuff out there like 2 gun, practical rifle, etc. that's interesting too, so feel free to bring it up - always happy to learn
>>32604823
Actually this sounds like a thread I want to be in.
I would like to try to get into 3 gun but I'm not sure if there are any around me or where to go to even begin. I was also recommended in the past not to start out on 3 gun and instead seek out individual rifle or pistol competitions first.
It used to be the RIA tactical, but I'm sure there are more/better entry 1911s now. Whatever you do, go for a beavertail and something better than GI sights.
Look at your local ranges or wherever you plan to shoot and see if they have old courses of fire posted. That will give you a good idea of how many shells you'll generally need. There is one club near me that is pretty short range so they are shotgun heavy with 10-15 on a stage.
>>32605037
Glad to see some people trickling in! I think it is easier (and cheaper) to start with IDPA especially if you CC because it's a little more realistic and simple. I actually use my exact CC setup during IDPA so I'm very familiar with it. All the 3 gun gear is kind of intimidating. I actually found the places I'm planning on doing 3 gun through people I met at IDPA, so that's a good way. I also found this site
http://wheretoshoot.org/index2.cfm
which might be able to help too.
>>32605101
Thanks for the info. I was thinking RIA but wanted to see if there was anything else I'd been missing.
Is there any law against cutting down black powder rifles? Wal-Mart is clearing out their muzzleloading stuff and they have some $300 rifles for $130. I thought it might be cool to get and cut down to a .50 cal pistol
>>32604723
Not a firearm, so I assume not.
>>32604723
Nope, absolutely no federal laws against it.
Most states have laws against carrying blackpowder guns if you're trying to get around your states ccw laws though.
>>32604723
NFA laws(except suppressors) don't apply to muzzleloaders and airguns so you should be good unless there's a local law against it or something.

Oh how I'd love to see China's next H-9 patrol near the Senkakus met by a couple of F-35s. Just to say hi. Also how long before we can expect J-20 escorts to be added to said patrols?
Amphibious ship based deployments start later this year.
>>32604665
wuts so special about f-35s?
i know nothing about jets
i thought this plane was never going to be deployed unless lockmart got another 80jillion dollars? or was that just vatniks shitposting...?
>inb4 stupid Spreyfags still spout the same memes from 2008 about it not working, not being ready on time, etc. calling it a turkey or a lemon
why do cia operatives all seem to use glocks and wear tile shirts?
for funsies
>>32604581
>Glocks
Because proven performance
>Tile shirts
Because the CIA did grey man when your grandpa had your dad in his balls. We used words like "incognito" before autism was mainstream.
>glocks
They're all given them and it cuts costs greatly to go with the cheapest thing that just werks.
>tile shirts
Zero fashion sense. They would probably wear front zipped gray jumpsuits if it wouldn't draw shitloads of attention.
So /k/ I was thinking about weaponizing a vape and I know some of you fags have vapes. So should i mod it with one of those single shot shotgun shell things(I forgot the name) or maybe just make like a ballistic knife like attachment
>>32604508
Vapes are already weaponized autism.
>>32604508
>vape
don't worry the site of vape makes it known that your a loser that people to avoid making eye contact with. so vape on trailer trash.
Religion is like smoking, an outdated practice whose dangers are well known and documented, but the dumber denizens of our society still wallow in it, in their designated little areas. And like smoking has vaping as a healthy alternative, there are healthy alternatives to religion such as science and atheism.
I'm planning on buying my first handgun and I've decided on Sig's legion series. I like the finish on them and their marketing worked on me. The only issue is I'm not sure if I should go with the p226 SA/DA, p226 SAO, or the p229. I currently only plan on using it at the range and open carry when I'm staying late at work. Currently no plans for a CCW but that could change in the future. I have held both the 226 and 229 and I think the 226 feels better in my hands though I'm not sure if it's cause I'm not used to a compact gun, and secondly not sure if the 226's size will be a problem when carrying either open or CCW.
>>32604171
I'm no fan of modern SIG's work but a good ol' p226 is one of the finest pistols made. It's not too big for OC (is that possible?) and can be ccwed with a good holster.
>>32604189
oh and for the gods get the DA/SA
>>32604171
Youre not gonna be ccw a 226. I prefer SAO only cause i never shoot in DA, and i trust manual safeties.

Currently the US Navy is practicing dumping swarms of these from F/A-18s. They can be used for recon and they can be used as guided munitions. They are programmed to flock like birds, in a swarm, towards a given target.
>“Perdix are not pre-programmed synchronized individuals, they are a collective organism, sharing one distributed brain for decision-making and adapting to each other like swarms in nature,” William Roper, director of the Strategic Capabilities Office, told the BBC.
“Because every Perdix communicates and collaborates with every other Perdix, the swarm has no leader and can gracefully adapt to drones entering or exiting the team,” added Roper.
