Desert eagle thread
Even though it's a meme and a range toy, how is the desert eagle? Any owners? How are the israeli models compared to the minneapolis models?
also .44 vs .50ae?
Blocky grip
Awkward safety
Overall hard to justify as a purchase.
Maybe for Alaska but even then
>pic related
Own one in .50AE. Dead accurate and far softer shooting than normies think.
Where it's made doesn't make a hair of difference unless you're autistic about that sort of thing.

I'm pretty sure Nintendo doesn't make rifle magazines, anon. That's not really their area of business, considering they're a video game company :^)

How much ammo should I bring? Only bringing a 1911 and 870. Is anyone going to want to shoot either of those?
Has .22 LR ever had an application in a military weapon?
Is it viable as a SHTF round?
>>32609252
>Has .22 LR ever had an application in a military weapon?
I don't know. Probably not.
>Is it viable as a SHTF round?
Most certainly.
Depends what you consider SHTF
If you're innawoods then yes it has uses for small game
Otherwise not really, it doesn't do anything literally any real rifle round can. It's real only purpose is training how to shoot and plinking.
It'll still kill someone though if you put a bunch of rounds into them. It's just not anywhere close to ideal.
>Has .22 LR ever had an application in a military weapon?
Many military firearms have .22 variants
>>32609252
>.22 LR ever had an application in a military weapon?
usa used it to kill dogs they didn't like
israel used it to kneecap people they didn't like.
Are ultra light titanium cylinder revolvers a meme?
I want one but I'm worried after reading horror stories of recoil so bad it broke peoples hands/wrists and also pic related.

It should lead to an immediate ban.
How would they increase kickback? Do steel cylinders really expand (absorbing energy) all that much?
Just how viable would a flamethrower be for self defense?

bump for intrest
Depends are you in little Tokyo or in a gook neighborhood?
>>32609022
how viable is wearing a 30lb steel backpack that shoots jellied fuel on your enemies that sticks, splashes and burns them alive within 100+ feet.

>“They want the general public to think it’s about hearing aids or something,” said Kristen Rand, the legislative director of the Violence Policy Center. “It’s both a silly and smart way to do it, I guess. But when the general public finds out what’s really happening, there will be outrage.”
I don't think the general public really is ever going to be outraged by suppressors. They never were, as far to my knowledge. I've seen staunch anti-gun advocates still say they think suppressors should be able to be purchased, so at least people don't have cracks of shots near their property or have to deal with hearing damage.

What does she think it's "really" about? Everyone wants to be a pew pew assassin?
The whole argument is based on ignorance.
how can i make it more deadly
Swing it
Turf nails.
Maybe a weight too.
And wrap it with tons of duct tape so it doesn'the shatter.
nails are a classic but is it possible to add crazier shit to it ?
Is it better to spend 2 or 3 bucks less on steel-case 5.56, or get brass 5.56 and keep the empties to sell them to recycling places/reloaders once you've gathered enough of them?
>>32607915
I don't care, just pick up your cases so I'm not stepping on them when I step up to the bench.
>empty hulls are litter
No reloader is going to buy brass from you ya fucknut. There may be some commercial recyclers who will buy spent brass in bulk, but I've never heard of them.
Would be a fun idea to set up a coinstar machine at the local range for you to dump brass into.
>>32607915
Yes, it is. Unless you only shoot a couple dozen rounds a year, you should reload.
Been awhile, /k/
Scale of 1-10, how illegal is it to cut down my shotgun by hacking off the barrel at the mag?
Complication: If i replace shoulder stock with pistol grip, is it more, less, or the same amount of illegal?
In Louisiana, btw.
Pick related --> not mine, would i be fucking up huge to do this?
>>32607779
The barrel can't be under 18", the entire length can't be under 26".
>>32607931
Basically this. Though beware if you go to sell it later to keep the stock, or get a full length stock otherwise you're selling an AOW [which is legal cause it's a smoothbore over rifled] and depending on the state it alters a wait time if you have one. Other than that go nuts, it's fun, pic related, mine.
>>32607779
I cut the barrel and cut and shaped the grip on the far right Mossberg.
Barrel needs to be more than 18" long the the muzzle to the bolt face of a gun in battery. Look up specifics of how the ATF measures that shit and don't fuck it up because THEY WILL shoot your dog then take you to prison for anus dilation if you cut the thing too short. Factory short barrels are cut to 18.5" and that's what I cut mine to (compare to the shotgun next to it).
Overall length of the gun also needs to exceed 26".
Put the barrel in a vice, make sure you cut it straight, and file it smooth because burrs will fuck up the way the gun patterns.
Do some research on grip angles if you're how make one because a bad grip angle on a stockless shotgun isn't something you're gonna enjoy shooting.
Again, if you fuck it up you can ruin your gun or end up in prison so do your research and don't be a retard.
Are there any benefits of having a heat shield on a shotgun?

Why are "cavalry" and "armor" still separate branches in the US Army? What's the functional difference between units with either monicker, from battalion/squadron size to 1CD and 1AD?
I'm legitimately curious. Is it just a relic that they've never gotten around to removing, or is there a distinct purpose between the two groups?
>>32607622
To my understanding, cavalry is a more mobile and flanking force while the armour are a more front / direct combat force.
To my understanding "armoured" divisions in the US army are basically composed of the same heavy BCTs as a mechanized infantry. The 1st cavalry division is the same.
While ACR's are more based on M1s supported by Bradley CFV's with limited dismounts, and a larger complement of helicopters. Sort of a flanking or screening force with enough firepower to trash anything less than a prepared defensive line.
>>32607622
It's okay for calvary to dismount and engage during combat operations.
Not so much tankers.
You can only use one for the rest of your life
Which do you choose?

5.56
Because the rest of my life will be a 10 minute mass shooting.
Besides the sks and ak variants, what guns in 7.62x39 are there? I really loved shooting a buddy's homemade single shot 7.62x39. I bought 800 rounds of it today and now I want to pick up a fun little snowflake gun.
