I figured this is the place to ask. So, I'll be attending the U.S. Presidential Inauguration next week, and I am concerned about potential threats-- liberal rioters, terrorist attacks, etc.-- to my safety while attending said event. How can I prepare for the Inauguration? What should I bring with me for provisions or self defense? What should I do if anything actually happens?
If I remember, the fedora is the universal hat for peace, so you shouldn't have any issues with rowdy liberals if you wear one while attending.
>>32644887
But wouldn't a fedora piss off my fellow Trump supporters?
>>32644857
>What should I bring
Small American flag on a stick, MAGA hat, positive attitude.
>What should I do if something happens
GTFO, fast.
hey /k/ I just got a bunch of shit that I bought with christmas money. So this is going to be unboxing that shit and then building it out as it's my first time ever assembling an AR upper.
as always, feel free to shit all over my choices and tell me how I'm enjoying my hobby incorrectly.
>>32644856
but what could it be?
I don't have the patience to tease, so this is basically gonna be an image dump. Feel free to ask questions or share general AR armory experiences.
How many anons have assembled their own uppers?
I built my lower out from parts and started with a PSA premium upper, which has performed flawlessly, but I couldn't get over having a half-built half-bought AR, and wanted to put together my own upper.
So I did it. Because I can.
>What's in the box?
>>32644880
>das contents
should be able to tell from the pic but if anyone has questions about a specific part feel free to ask.
I will admit straight away that I was too retarded to order a light mount for my rail when I ordered my light. So . . . gonna have to fix that as soon as I decide what kind of mount I want. So many options.
>>32644904
so, taking those parts down into the basement workshop/armory we go to begin making mistakes!
this is all the stuff from the box, plus my current AR with the PSA upper.
From these disparate components a new upper shall emerge
How does /k/ feel about this particular ammo? Is it good for home defense?
>>32644711
Gold dot was the standard for a very long time, they're may be some self defense ammunition that is better in one aspect or another but gold dot will still kill intruders and attackers just as dead
>>32644721
Thanks, mate. I just bought a couple boxes of this from my local gun store, because the clerk suggested this, as he and U.S. Marshals use this ammo.
>>32644737
Different anon but Gold Dots are my go-to defensive ammo for pretty much every caliber.
whats the best kind of pistol to stop a plane hi jacking?
Whats the best kind of rifle/pistol combo in the event of a terrorist attack?
>>32644584
The pistol you won't have because you can't carry on a plane unless you're a sky marshall.
I know the internet is fun, but 18 to post here. Your tiny underage Weiner is showing bud.

tazors with extra strong charges and regular pistols, maybe with that tungsten powder glue ammo seem good to go.
>Whats the best kind of rifle/pistol combo in the event of a terrorist attack?
AR-15 and AR-15 pistol (or pic related).
>/k/ gave me shit for overpaying ($800) for "just a converted saiga" years ago
>the gun has appreciated more than any of my other guns
Explain yourselves.
You still overpaid at the time, chump.
>>32644400
i could spot that bakelite 300 yards away at dusk on a foggy evening through enough foliage to feed a starving elephant.
>>32644400
It's appreciated simply because of circumstances no-one should have expected, not because of its intrinsic value.
You still overpayed, and anyone buying it from you will have overpayed.

>Today, Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner reintroduced the ATF Elimination Act, legislation that would dissolve the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and merge its exclusive duties into existing federal agencies.
>>32644200
But don't we need the ATF?
there's already a thread anon
>>32633280
my opinion: same shit different acronym. I don't think this will help anything
>>32644210
the FBI can and should take over the firearms and explosives mandate. IIRC the fbi already does the instant background check, which probably prevents more gun-law violations than all the ATF programs combined.
the DEA should put tobacco and alcohol under their drug mandate.
What are the lessons learned from recent conflicts such as Ukraine, Syrian Civil War, Yemen, Iraq, etc. ?
Haven't paid too much attention and all I picked up so far in Syria was in urban areas, ATGMs will render MBTs completely useless

What can you tell me about our new gun? Is it that better then the famas?
Only con I heard yet is that it's harder to clean
it goes pew.
Its an ar15. Just youtoob it, theres atleast a million neckbeards and tactifags that could tell you
>>32643961
Airshit
Disassembly for basic cleaning: first you take off the stock.
And now you have a functional firearm that is now under 26 inches overall and was made from a rifle.
Is there an official exemption for disassembly on the books somewhere, or could this be considered manufacture of an SBR, and everyone who cleaned a 10/22 technically a felon?
Something something intent. Stop being a fag.
We should ban all guns that don't break down from the trigger assembly or barrel
Since the receiver is the serialized part, and is all of it that is considered a rifle, im gonna go ahead and say no.
I can type out a lengthy explanation if youd like but im drunk so i wont do so unless asked.
can any of you hardcore operators identify this sexual rifle this hot Iraqi stud is pimping?

Question for /k/
Why don't militaries use stick grenades any more as a frag variant? I understand that the standard "egg" shaped grenades are lighter, easier to prime and can be bounced around corners more easily, but then again the stick variant could be thrown further and more accurately thanks to the leverage. Why don't militaries just issue infantry with a few of each depending on situation where one would be better suited than the other?
>>32643716
Weight, space, logistics, no need. Ordinary grenades work just fine and we have grenade launchers for longer distances.
>>32643716
Some places still use them
>>32643716
Stick grenades are harder to carry, pack less of a punch, add more weight to a soldier, and typically have less shrapnel thrown.
Grenades are inherently short range. The little extra leverage would be absolutely pointless as you wouldn't need to throw one further than you can already throw a frag grenade.
>when the only necessary comment is in the title

Lol boxing is nothing when you're on the ground. In a street fight, 90% of the time you end on the ground. Enjoy getting dad dicked by someone with even a basic high school wrestling background.

Unless you're from Africa, it's highly likely your country has scholastic wrestling to feed their Olympic program you dingus. Even if you are from Africa it's 100% chance that your country (or one of the cultures that makes up your country) has a folk wrestling tradition.

How would /k/ handle this situation?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDuAsuTOapM
>>32643468
Point guns, release dog, two officers go for takedown. The man's not much of a threat with a dog hanging on his arm and two men bringing him down with force.
>>32643468
>How would /k/ handle this situation?
Depends on why he is being arrested? First:
>pull back the dog. these incompetent fools are asking the man to step inside lunging distance of the maw with four legs.
>don't uses tazors on thickly jacketed perps
>guns on low ready at all times
>give the wombman a 20 and send her for coffee, can't stand the screeching.

>A convicted murderer has been jailed for life for a "horror film" hammer attack on two police officers. Jamshid Piruz, 35, lashed out at constables Jessica Chick and Stuart Young with a claw hammer during a West Sussex break-in on 7 January 2016. He pleaded guilty at Hove Crown Court to burglary and two counts of attempting to cause GBH with intent and affray. Piruz was previously jailed in the Netherlands for killing a woman. PC Chick told the court: "I have never been so scared in my life." PC Young, who was hit in the neck in the Crawley attack, described it as "akin to a horror film".
Spat at. The court heard that after arriving in Britain in December 2015 to visit relatives, Afghan-born Dutch citizen Piruz missed his return flight home from Gatwick Airport on 4 January, 2016. He went on to be arrested and prosecuted for assault after he spat at a member of EasyJet staff who told him he would need to buy a new ticket. After appearing in court and being ordered to pay compensation, he went on to burgle garages in Crawley, where he stole tools including a hammer. On 7 January police were called after a member of the public saw Piruz attempting a further break-in, which led to the attack on the officers. Francesca Lewington, prosecuting, said Piruz was granted asylum in the Netherlands at the age of 16. She said he was jailed for 12 years, of which he served six, for killing his female tenant in 2006. He locked her in a room before slitting her throat. Simon Blackford, defending, said his client was remorseful and "suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder" after witnessing the murder of his parents by the Taliban when he was 11. Jailing Piruz for a minimum of six years, Judge Jeremy Gold QC said: "This was an incident of truly terrifying violence, the officers were in fear of their lives." He said Piruz suffered "acute psychotic episodes" and told him: "You are potentially a very dangerous man."
