Are suppressors legal within the U.S?
I just had an argument with my friend about this, from what I found it seems that they're technically illegal under U.S federal law but are illegal under state law in 42 states. From my understanding this would mean the are technically illegal and states just allow them to be owned but in the F.B.I wanted to they could confiscate them and hail the owners when ever they want?
Yes
/thread
they're a registered item under the NFA passed in the 30s? They're also outright illegal in a number of states due to those states passing laws on them.
So if you and your friend live in IL/CA/other liberal shithole, its illegal.
Your understanding of US law is completely backwards. Federal law states that they are legal to own if the proper taxes are paid and forms/background checks are completed. Individual states have the right to further regulate or ban them altogether.
What gun has the perfect blend of form and function?

am i retarded for considering mounting sub gun molle pouches on my chest rig and putting 33 round glock mags in them? i feel like this is the only time those long ass motherfuckers could be practical. if shit is so bad I'm out of my primary weapons ammo and am using my sidearm double the capacity sounds nice.
Maybe for a 9mm carbine that takes glock mags
>>32760491
I have to say that I don't really care for Glocks high-capacity magazines. They fit 31 rounds into a magazine that's like 10 inches long, but then you look at the STI 170 millimeter magazine body for their double stack 1911 and you've got 26 rounds in a 6 & a half inch long magazine. Doesn't quite make sense how Glock can't seem to lose four inches while adding 5 rounds
>>32760531
i wasn't talking about glocks design faults i was asking if its a good idea to mount one on my chest rig. i only run 2 pistol mags on my rig so if i ran one mag id have near same capacity or if i ran 2 id have double. I'm kinda talking myself into doing it
gonna need an operator thread.

Are bolt action rifles still viable in modern war?
yes.
>>32760004
Absolutely.
Pretty much every major nation utilizes bolt actions for their snipers.
>>32760004
In the sense that they still kill people at typical combat ranges. I certainly wouldn't equip a bunch of Marines with Enfields, but an insurgent with one is still going to be pretty much as deadly as the same dude with an AKM.
What does /k/ think about them? Got some french military rations in the post today, can do an unboxing if anyone's interested

all they talk about is craft beer and mcdonalds

Unbox, heat up and taste then create a thread. A slow thread would get buried.

If Donald Trump gave 5% more to military funding, how would it most likely be split between the branches?
Trump is an isolationist, why would he increase military funding?
>>32759623
>Trump is an isolationist, why would he increase military funding?
You mean, other than the multiple times he's said he wants to. Like Having a 355 ship USN.
4.97% mother fucking MARINE CORPS OORAH

Ok /k/,
Today in one of my college classes we are going to be watching the 2002 Michael Moore "bowling for columbine".
I haven't watched it personally yet but already know its very left winged when firearms rights are introduced and we are to write a 5 page paper with sources on it, simple enough.
Any pointers to bring up when talking about gun crime?
FBI statistics should be useful obviously but what should I focus on when they inevitably bring up gun crime in other countries like Canada and England?
really want to just poke as many holes in Moore's logic as possible

Mention that the majority of homicides are young african american inner city men involved in gangs, using straw purchases firearms because most are felons.
Mention the 323 people were killed with all rifles in the US in 2011, a laughably small amount.
Basically mention that guns are necessary for people to protect themselves, especially for women and people living in shitty neighborhoods. Mention that any form of gun control they can possibly think of is not helping murder rates, and is just feel good bullshit.
Mention that the reason for these murders is not the presence of guns, but the disintegration of the african american family structure due to the welfare state, failing public schools, and youth unemployment
Basically you can turn this into a /pol/ and a /k/ thing in one go, thus redpilling all your classmates.
Also say that statistically, mass shootings account for an insignificant number of deaths, and is just fear mongering by the media. The terrorist attacks in France these past two years have accounted for FAR more deaths than mass shootings, and there is strict gun control in France.
how is this not all over /k/?
did I just miss it?
Late to the party, buddy.
Just wait until Trump signs the Hearing Protection Act into law
Everyone on /k/ will have one
>>32759214
There have been at least 5 threads about it in the last week.
So, basically, shut the fuck up and lurk more, and shut the fuck up more.

Yes. The real one. Not the new shitty one.
Why?

There's a new one? I am not even going to look it up because I know I'd be disappointed.
>>32759176
It came out back in 2012, only instead of Russians, it's North Koreans.

Is there anyone else out there that thinks the original Aimpoint model looks sexy as fuck? I can't be the only one.
Also post your optics, whatever gun, doesn't matter
>>32758631
How old is that advertisement? I see it has what looks like a picatinny rail attachment though I suppose it could be for the old weaver type rails.
I do agree though, I think that optic there has a definite retro cool factor to it.
>>32758658
It's an ad from a 1980 issue of American Rifleman, but their first model came out in 1975, and discontinued in '79. That's probably the G2 model, almost the same aesthetic imo
>>32758686
Bretty cool, never knew they had stuff like that back in the late 70's. Kinda want to build a CAR-15 clone and put one on it now lol.
