I noticed there being a vocal group of people who are strongly against buying and supporting anything produced by Troy around here over the past few years, namely due to their association with the ATF agent who took part in the Waco massacre. But seeing their release of the new vintage AR series at almost half the Colts cost, and doing stuff like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zg61neLT4cU makes me feel that they arent as bad as people around here make them out to be?
What do you guys think?
Nope.

I judge a company based on if they treat their customers well and listen to them. They seem to be checking that box so yes, I would buy it.
You can build a CAR15 clone with a similar pinned muzzle device for cheaper.
Has anyone witnessed a BRAPPPPPP firsthand?
They did a demo at a Mather Airfield airshow. They were firing blanks with pyrotechnics on the ground though. Was pretty dank either way.

Poor college guy here. Need suggestions on adequate body armor for around $120 a plate. Level II? Level III? Thank you in advanced.

Like it so far.

Thank you!

I try to stay away from AR500/steel based body armor, the weight and potential to be penetrated by faster 5.56 rounds isn't worth the cost trade off to me. But of course it's not likely I'll ever need it. http://www.rmadefense.com/Level-IV-Hard-Armor.asp
Goddamnit. This things going to cost about as much as my whole fucking rifle build.
Anyone else want one?

It's just a fucking range toy, dangerous as fuck anywhere else
>>32767381
Cheaper than an actual machine gun, though.
Won't touch it. Stupid gimicky shit.
Iv8888 shilled this so hard. Lost the little bit of respect I had for their channel after that
Will there ever be a reason to stop using the AR as a standard issue rifle at any point in the future? Is there any possible technological advance that could happen, or is the AR the end-point of weapons platform technology?
>>32767332
>Is there any possible technological advance that could happen,
any ammo change would fuck it like caseless or something like plastic casings
LSAT is probably it.
>>32767370
would that ever be worth it or cost effective? I could easily see 5.56 being a standard caliber 100 or 1000 or 100000 years from now
What kind of tactical boots does /k/ recommend?

At what point do you call off a range day due to weather?
I need to go get some range time, but forecast is calling for snow tomorrow for my 'Sunday.'
What do?
I'm not a super tuff guy who glorifies doing things in shitty conditions intentionally, I like to be comfortable and enjoy my leisure activities, but sometimes it is fun to take something you normally do one way and change the scenery. I rarely see snow so I like to shoot in the snow.
I went to the range with my nugget on day where it snowed in the morning.
Just me and the range officer. It felt good shooting my nugget in the cold.

Snow is fun to shoot in
Poorfag college student here, going to turn 21 soon and am therefore in the market for a handgun. I want something that is good for home (apartment) defense, but is also very accurate so that it's fun to shoot at the range. 9mm is preferred. So with a budget of $700 or less, what are my options?

beretta 92, cz 75 (or a clone), and the glock 19/17 are probably the most popular pistols with your criteria. theyre all great guns with their plus and minuses, id start with these.
s&w mp2 and sigs are notable mentions as well.
Open carry is well and good when the time calls for it. But currently how autistic do you have to be to open carry.
>but freedoms
Furrys are also free to wear fur suits and congregate. But its just dumb.

Theirs nothing wrong with open carry

Op here. Open carry should stay legal but conceal carry whenever possible. Dont be autismo.

Where's your intermediate rifle caliber for your semi-automatic rifle?
>>32765987
>No intermediate rifle round
Are you even trying?
We all agree that 5.45 and 5.56 perform pretty much the same downrange.
However, I would like to put forward the notion that 5.45 is the more efficient of the two in terms of its cartridge dimensions and raw material usage, as well as having a hair more ballistic potential.
>Shorter, slightly fatter case = more better burn
>Longer, higher BC projectiles don't waste as much case length, saving raw material
Take note that I'm ignoring all the other general differences relating to features that can be changed at any time, like steel laquer cases vs brass, berdan vs box primers, and the obvious difference in projectiles utilized in both military and commercial loads.
5.45x39 is unironically, unequivocally, and 100% truthfully a best

I can't even start a dialogue about the HPA. Most people I know still blame me for Trump winning, and I didn't even get to vote since I had to leave town on business last minute.
Hey bros, some javelinas have been knocking me and my neighbor's trash cans down and eating all of the trash out of them for some time now, always making a mess of the driveway and I've decided that its time to remove. Now heres my issue: I cant shoot them (they always strike at night, and I dont want to wake the neighbors and possibly get the cops at my door). Any thoughts? I considered a couple options, but I dont know the legality of putting ricin in apples as bait.
