Why do most 9mm ARs use the anti rotation pins?
>>32822627
no idea.
ok, so I rented a USP45 today.
I know some ranges don't really take care of their rental guns that well, and the gun looked kind of used and abused. Personally, I've not shot enough to really be a trigger connoisseur but I have to ask;
Are HK triggers all that god damn squishy? There wasn't any sort of break, it felt like I was squeezing air. Also, is it normal for the slide to come back much more violently in SA? The gun shot pretty tame when decocked, but it felt way more jumpy in subsequent shots.
IS this normal with USP line? Or is my range rental very unloved?
Do you know what variant the trigger was?
>>32822574
I handled a used USP 45ct back to back with a like-new 9mm full sized variant (when I ended up buying the 9).
Both guns DA triggers were long and consistent, yet, they had that "plastic on plastic" grabby feeling in some spots. SA was fine. Short take up and clean break.
I do notice that, on my 9mm, there is a sort of "half cock" hammer position (it is not an LEM trigger) that makes the DA seem better. The hammer protrudes just a slight amount more than when it is completely down, and the DA pull has maybe a quarter less travel.
Oddly, when cocked to this position, you cannot decock it without fully pulling the hammer back and then decocking. I'm not sure if this is a regular USP "thing" since the 45 I handled had a flush hammer.
All in all, I have little to complain about when it comes to the USP. Always wanted one and I love shooting it.
>>32822939
sorry to say, but no. But I'm guessing it's not the LEM trigger. I am not too familiar with HK pistols in general.
Been thinking about getting a USP45.

you have no clue who he is or who he works for, I guess I've been here too damn long

But if he closed his jacket you'd just think he was a chunky autist and therefore ignore him... genius?
Hello /k/, I was recently looking into buying an AK to add to my collection and I realized that the Ruger Mini-30 also shoots 7.62. What are some pro/cons with the mini-30/is it better than an AK? Is there a company that makes a AK that is better than it? (I see people complain about the quality of AKs a lot). Also if the Ruger is a better deal, should I get it in .300 AAC Blackout (pros/cons)?
>>32822480
Either get an ak like a WASR, or get the mini chambered for 5.56 or 300blackout. Apparently the 7.62x39 version doesn't like steel case too well. An AK or AR are better overall but the mini is the little bro of the m14 and the m1 garand and will serve you fine. 99% of people won't notice the difference in reliability unless you neglect your rifle and start throwing dirt in the action
>>32822480

>>32822480
the mini 30 is trash. It's not reliable and cant shoot slavshit ammo for shit. Get sks if you like the carbine feel or an ak there both better in every way

so, i might be homeless soon. if i enlisted tomorrow, how soon before i have opportunity for food and shelter? 20 years old diesel technician. just can't find a job, no one's hiring.
We have /meg/ (Military Enlistment General) for a reason.
That said, go open contract and you should be able to leave in under a month.
>>32822395
sorry, i'm overly stressed and wasn't even thinking. and sounds good.
>>32822365
you won't enlist tomorrow. fastest I've heard of someone walking in to a recruiters and then shipping is two or three weeks, and that's IF everything goes right. You have forms to fill out, criminal records checks. If you don't have your birth certificate, the recruiter has to put in a check for that. Then getting a time to take the ASVAB, the trip there if you live in east boofoo. If you live far enough out from the MEPS, you may have to wait till your recruiter does all of the paper work and then he rolls up the ASVAB test and the physical into one visit, with you taking the test, then you spend the night there and take the physical the next morning. If you want to join that bad, they will smell it. Don't be surprised if the station commander keeps you on the back burner until the end of the month just in case they may not make mission and then he sends you off to MEPS.

If war with China were to break out, under what circumstances would China nuke the Japanese mainland?
>>32821866

if the US nukes Chyna.
Probably just for the fuck of it. Japan has been invading China for centuries. The chinese, understandably, are still quite salty about it. Keep in mind though, the second Japan gets nuked, Operation:Dam Slam will commence.

Why is the Iranians so intent on copying US uniforms? They've used both the ACU and DCU

Sup /k/ bros,
What do you think about Les Stroud and Survivorman? And what do you about Stroud's knives and Survivor gear?
Recently got on a kick of watching his old shows and forgot how /comfy/ they were.
>>32821690
Love Les and his show
Like his Helle knife better than his new stuff.
>>32821690
Les is a fucking beast. He does all that shit for real and almost dies. It's depressing to watch a man who knows what he's doing out there eat only 500 calories in a week and get rained on. He shows when he fails too, so you know that it doesn't always work out innawoods. Nature is fucking cruel. Then on top of all that, he has to backtrack and pick up cameras that he left to give us cool shots. But he manages to do it all legitimately alone. Gotta give the man credit. That being said, if you see him using his own products, you at least know they will hold up for a week at minimum. There are probably better products out there, but I'd be willing to try them at least once.

Those strap style outdoor furniture are always the absolute most uncomfortable garbage to sit on, especially in shorts. God forbid that rubbery shit catches your skin and yanks on it with its weird semi-adherent rubber surface.
Could helicopters actually be replaced with tip rotor aircraft in the future? With the US Army thinking of replacing or upgrading their UH-60 fleet, Bell's proposal is the V-280 Valor tilt rotor aircraft. Could a tilt rotor do the job our Blackhawks have been doing for decades? What do you think, /k/?

Link related, the new V-280.
