Sounds kind of fucked up, but would there be anything different about shooting this dude compared to the average person?

I imagine his organs have to be fuckhuge.

Muscle and fat would slow down the bullet somewhat, so pistols might not penetrate deed enough to hit vitals in the torso from every angle but if you'd shoot a big guy from front it won't be much different from shooting a small guy. For long guns it really wouldn't make a difference in any situation.

The Syrian Air Force has the worst combat record of any post-war AF. Its been effectively destroyed and rebuilt 3 times (1967, 1973, 1982) and currently has once again been reduced to a shell of its former self. It has a very poor record in air-to-air combat as well and has carried out few to any successful operations in the past.

Why is it so sucky?

yep another arab airforce story, arabs suck at any form of conventional warfare, they only do well as insurgents
>>
I think the only air operation arabs can pull off is bombing a city with improvised bombs

Should I buy a Mosin or an SKS or something else for my first rifle? I've got an 870 I use for hunting and I'm poor as shit.

SKS is fine for hunting I guess

Why not a sporterized 7mm or 7.65 contract mauser. They go for 200-400 bucks and are quite nice.

Nope, probably just taking a joyride while displaying the colors.

I'm being processed into the US Army. I did well enough on my aptitude scores to qualify for a variety of POG stuff, but I've been strongly considering infantry cause I'm a poorfag for the signing bonus. I'm also bored and depressed out of my skull, I think about suicide all the time. The only shit I enjoy anymore is dicking around by taking risks on my fucken sick motorcycle or getting in fights with/for my shithead friends.

Am I stupid to want to be a grunt? Should I follow my recruiters advice and be a network node operator instead? Am I going to be hazed/shower raped for being a city kid that doesn't know shit about guns?

I know I'm asking a broad question, but I have just one more. I can't seem to find a source for casualty data. Does anyone know the odds if I'm deployed to Iraq? It's far less than 1/100 right? Either way I like rolling dice. Getting paid to bro out and shoot guns sounds fucking cool.

Be an infantryman UNLESS you want to get a career in a specific field that another MOS offers. Join the army to be in the army.

Yes. You are stupid.
Grunt life is not at all what you are imagining, and you can go a whole contract without actually kicking down even doors, let alone seeing actual combat. Enlist for the right reasons, shitbag.

Yes.
Having backup irons at all these days is pretty dumb. You'll literally never be in a situation where you need to transition to them, and even at that modern optics will outlive you anyway.

They're only good for checking your optic's zero.

But, yes, if you literally can't even use the damn things without a tool to remove your optic you are a grade A retard.

So I run a tabletop rpg and wondered what suggestions /k/ had to make encounters more dynamic and challenging for players. I dont want "hurr these guys are elite = more HP". I want the stormtrooper mooks to feel like they are part of a real force, with real tactics.

Whats some basic stuff I can do beyond "the bad guys take cover at this ridge" or "the bad guys throw a grenade". How do I best exploit fog of war and stuff? How do i into withdrawal and ambush?

Wrong stormtroopers
>>
differentiate based on equipment. ie. normal troopers rifles are effective out to such and such range; a scout trooper with a sniper rifle has a longer effective range but is more susceptible to damage. LMG's have a higher hit probabilty but you cant move as fast. "death troopers" are harder to detect, etc. Then add in geography, and set it up so theres multipliers for good tactical positions; ie if two players set up an L ambush, they get mayb 1.5x damage. boost.

Mayb those would work, idk. not much of an rpg player, but thats what i would do.

Mooks
>poor morale, they will run if they start taking heavy casualties or if their officer dies
>shitty equipment, their weapons may jam or be less accurate
>are dumb, they won't try to flank or use smoke to cover their advance
Basically imagine them as normal people who were shown how to point and shoot their gun and then thrown onto the battlefield.

stormtroopers
>fanatic, they will ignore pain and any heavy casualties
>they get the best weapons and equipment
>work as a team and use tactics like flanking, pincer maneuver. Maybe ambushes or traps
These guys are well trained and don't fuck around. They don't make as many dumb mistakes

Look up small unit tactics and have the elites use similar maneuvers

Also what this guy said

Most of the major western powers probably have near-identical SOF in terms of training/gear/etc. America wins simply because they have the best support/air support/satellite intel/etc to back up their troops.

INDONESIA KOPASSUS IS THE BEST SPECIAL FORCES IN THE WORLD. History already spoken, KOPASSUS save the American DELTA in Mogadishu. Austrailian SASR begging us to teach them the art of jungle fighting. GIGN asking us to capture terrorist responsible for Paris Attack. Indonesian KOPASSUS actually advising the GSG-9 during Operation Fire Magic. Even Israeli Sayeret Matkal fears Indonesian KOPASSUS. Indonesian KOPASSUS is winner of numerous Special Ops competition like Warrior Challenge, Asia Armies Rifle Meet and Discovery Channel Deadliest Warrior. Enough said. Indonesian KOPASSUS is THE BEST in the world!

I would like to discuss nuclear weapons with you /k/. I have been doing some extended personal research into these weapons, their effects, and their place in our world. As we all know, in history we have only ever used one hydrogen bomb and one atomic bomb, excluding all bombs tests.

Those two uses mark what arguably should have been the one proving factor that our world and humanity as a whole is better off without nuclear weapons. However, since Hiroshima and Nagasaki, worldwide nearly 27,000 nuclear weapons have been developed. Long range nuclear missiles are ready to be deployed from over 9 countries across the world and presumably every ocean or body of water.

Why? Is there any argument to the benefit of these weapons? I am truly curious. I believe that there is no reason to have any form of nuclear weapon. I am deeply saddened by the fact that these exist and further disheartened by the sheer amount we have developed. Please, I would like to have an open mind for the discussion of what possible reason there is that we are at this stage. Why has no country moved to adopt the disarmament call of the UN? Who would really be willing to use these weapons? What is the point?

Everything you've learned about nuclear weapons from pop-cultural sources and works made by liberal scaremongers (such as "Threads") is wildly inaccurate. For example, "nuclear winter" following a massive nuclear exchange is a complete myth for a number of reasons, 100% impossible.
In reality, there are several scenarios of how a conventional war escalating into a nuclear one will play out.
The most likely scenario of a nuclear war will involve two simultaneous counterforce strikes from both sides. A counterforce strike is a precision nuclear strike targeting enemy ICBM silos, tactical WMD stockpiles, ICBM control and command centers and nuclear submarine bases. If you look at the stockpiles of both Russia and US, you'll see there's barely enough (given that some hard targets will warrant 2-3 warheads) munitions for such a strike. Most of the targets listed are located in very remote areas, and civilian casualties are unlikely. After the strike, the population, civilian and military infrastructure, industry and agriculture will emerge completely undamaged, ready for a conventional World War 3.
To sum up, modern nuclear weapons exist to deny the enemy the ability to use his own WMDs on your industrial and military targets.
>>
>>32831844

Fat Man was not a hydrogen bomb. It was an implosion-type atom bomb, while Little boy was gun type.
>>
>>32834051
Pretty much this desu.. This guy has it right. don't worry about a nuclear war between the interceptors and large amount of actual military targets cities will be pretty low on the shit list.
