What if someone made a plate carrier/armor set up from hardened leather?
Still had inserts for kevlar and slots for plates, even loops for MOLLE or alice or whatever else.
Would you dig it /k/?
>>34960876
>Would you dig it /k/?
No, it'd be shit. It's bad enough to shoulder guns in heavy winter coats. Stiff leather would be a lot worse.
>>34960876
Hardened leather isn't flexible enough for that and kevlar makes it all pointless.
>>34960876
Maybe if I was expecting to get both shot at and hit with with swords and spears over the course of some event, but that never happens.
What kind of nugget is this. I found it in my great grandfather's barn. 1929 year 5 digit serial number.
By 1929 the Soviets were only making Dragoon-length M91 rifles, and the Finns had switched to the m/27 (which this obviously is not). Since yours still appears to retain its curved Konovalov rear sight I'd guess it is a Soviet M91 Dragoon that was never upgraded to M91/30 spec. Post more pics.
Well, lads?
>>34961225
Do you handload your own ammo?
If yes, go .30-06 since you can utilize the extra case capacity.
If no, go .308 since factory ammo is negligible in difference between the two options.
>>34961225
.300winMag for when you really want to reach out and touch someone
>>34961225
whats it for? I have a .308 and I shoot 168/175gr SMKs.
is working retail at a gun store a good option for a young pup like myself?
i'm turning 19 next month and i'm looking for a new job.
any experiences you might have?
is it comfy, or is it just as bad as any other retail job?
>>34961220
It's fine. Just don't start threads on /k/ saying "I work at a gun store AMA".
It's a fucking retail job, you aren't special or more knowledge than most people here. If it pays your bills, go for it.
>radio-check
Retail is retail is retail is retail. Smaller shops are likely to be easier to deal with as long as your boss isnt a dickbag because they dont have some corporate desk jockey telling them to do stupid shit but most of those places dont just hire off the street. Almost every small family owned gun store ive known is ran by the family and staffed by the family and close friends. Dont expect benefits like good insurance or literally anything. The healthcare system is set up so small businesses will never afford it.
If your looking for retail in a big chain thats not worth the bureaucracy bullshit of retail. Dickbag deskjockey #487634A says you need to hit this quota of bullshit that doesnt matter or your reprimanded. You have to do THIS thing THIS way which makes no fucking sense at all and is fucking retarded because some other desk jokey thought it was a good idea.
Retail fucking sucks.
Just started watching the new "Shooter" show because I enjoyed the book. Within the first 10 minutes of the first episode, Swagger tells 2 hunters that .223 can barely take squirrel. The hunter pulls out a Beretta 92 and talks about stopping power. Quickly closed the tab after that.
Why can't any shows or movies (especially based around firearms) ever do 10 minutes of research of consult an expert? Even the shitty 2007 Wahlberg shooter movie did better.
>>34961104
They literally said that? I never clicked it because I think any TV show based off a movie is doomed for failure.
Also the Marky Mark flick ain't half bad. He Snipes dudes with .22 and a DIY silencer.
>>34961123
The movie also has GOAT drummer/singer Levon Helm in it .
>>34961104
>Why can't any shows or movies (especially based around firearms) ever do 10 minutes of research of consult an expert? Even the shitty 2007 Wahlberg shooter movie did better.
He literally said that in the book.
Educate yourself.
Would it work?
>>34960977
Yes, OP, you could probably stimulate your prostate with that.
Even if it only worked for a two round burst and then broke, it would still be considered a machine gun.
Well done, OP.
What am I looking at here?
All hail Mighty Conqueror of American Navy.
She's a big ship.

For USN
What's the proper way to draw a pistol? Most instructors nowadays say to thrust it forward, but the old Army instruction videos say to raise it to eye level from the low ready. The argument is that thrusting forward can cause the barrel to dip when the arm reaches full extension.
>>34960910
Thrust it forward to the low ready and then raise it to eye level?
>>34960919
That's what I thought. I tend to make a curved motion with my arm as I progressively raise it higher as the arm gets closer to full extension.
>>34960927
This is me too

Also, I am daydrinking today so please bear with me
Thank you for putting the time in to make this thread, CBRN Anon. I have a question: is this accurate?
>>34960895
Do American Chemical Defense forces have any assault weapons? Not just guns and shit, but some real weapons like cannons, missiles, or manpads at least?
>>34961203
for shooting at the chemicals?
Choose a new round to replace the 5.56x45mm in standard NATO service.
>.277 Wolverine/6.8x39mm is my pick

Real fucking NATO
White folks get in here.
Thinking of putting together a bush rifle, been using my dads 30-06 for a while now. Dont want to ruin it any further. Thoughts on a stainless synthetic t3x in 7mm08
>>34960721
Can I get your opinion on these two guns?
>>34960721
>Yanks not allowed
We decide this, not you.
>>34960747
N-NO!!!
Mr Obama was comparatively restrained – his Oval Office featured the Stars and Stripes, and the navy-coloured flag of the US president.
By contrast, Mr Trump has at least four Stars and Stripes; the presidential flag; and the flags of the army, marines, navy, coast guard and air force.
What the hell is he planning?

>>34960395
Trump has always said how much he loves and appreciates the military.
Obama more or less shit on them
>>34960408
Congress is america. Not the army.
what are your thoughts on modern advertising for the military compared to the past?
>WOOO DRESS BLUES WITH A SWORD
In the former half of the 20th century, there's this overarching theme of shame in recruitment posters. "Join his majesty's army, or you're a no good ponce."
Even more so than today, they tried to make war look glamorous. Perhaps an easier job before the media saturation of the Vietnam era.
>>34960348
They did a much better fucking job of it.

I'd rather have just one cartoon per branch every decade than a million dumbass commercials every year.
"A firearm is nothing more than a tool."
>>34960250
I hate that saying too. It's a tool, and so much more.
So is OP.
it's a warrior lifestyle fashion accessory
What can we do to improve the state of firearms education in America?
>>34960188
Create an insurgency
>>34960188
Mandatory conscription.
Really, though, we would need to have programs in schools like driver's ed.
As long as society doesn't accept that it's a necessity to prepare for things you MIGHT not need to be prepared for it'll never happen.
>>34960199
>>34960204
I doubt it. Soldiers are often the most ignorant shooters after fudds. You know why people don't know the difference between a clip and a magazine? It's because of semi-literate conscripts from WW2. The same can be said of the mispronunciation of Garand.
