For the extra $4, is there an appreciable difference between the Baofeng UV5R and BF-F8?
And should I get all my chinkshit now before Orange Wall Man puts a yuge tariff on the chinky goodnes?

Do I need a ham radio license for these?
>>32968234
I too play Glaz.
>>32968490
not if you use some specific channels that are open to anyone. broadcasting on other channels is illegal without a license.
You are given the choice of two $1500 gifts, an NRA life membership or the Ghost Gunner CNC mill
which one do you pick?
>>32968203
CNC mill, don't really see the value in an NRA membership
CNC Machine
fuck the NRA

Now that's some ugly fucking shit
Alright /k/, I've got a question for you all. In both world wars, new technology and tactics caught military leaders completely by surprise and changed the way wars were fought. New technology and tactics essentially made it so, under the right circumstances, a smaller force with the right strategy and equipment could take on a numerically superior force and win, for example artillery, machine guns, U-boats, airplanes, and chemical weapons in WWI and tanks, mobility and combined arms warfare in WWII.
How will the next conventional war between two major states be different? What role will cyber warfare play? Will there be such thing as conventional war again at all?
Who the fuck knows what would actually work? The Germans used zeppelins to bomb London in the beginning of WWI and it accomplished nothing. They thought timetables of trains could be weaponized.
But simple shit like building trenches on the high ground ended up putting a lot of the war to their advantage.

bump for interest
I've always believed that who rules the air, rules the ground.

Didn't read past the title.
Don't know where that is.
I want to deploy there.
Anybody here CC a revolver? I finally got to take my new toy out yesterday, and it shoots so well right out of the box. Now I'm thinking of making it my new CCW.
>>32967718
>CCing a revolver
Nigga come on. What are you even CCing right now?
>>32967725
A shitbox TT. I mean, I love the gun, what a blast to shoot, but it's hardly ideal.
I was surprised at how easy it was to rapidly whiff off six rounds out of this thing and how easy it is to control. Easily the most controllable .357 I've ever shot.
yes
>pack extra change of clothes for field ex/ops
>hate putting on "fresh" clothing when sweaty or dirty af
>wear the same shit the entire field ex (socks too if dry)
>>32967716
That's not really autistic, if you change in your fresh clothes you have no fresh and dry clothes left. The extra clothes are meant to be used if the ones you are wearing get wet, rip or anything.
>>32967716
>socks too
not only is that autistic, it's terrible for your feet.
>still do routine penis inspections on myself, even after 13 years retired

I concur.
Decided that I'm going to use my tax return to buy a cheap(ish) shotgun. I have two 9mm pistols and an AR so I feel like it's kind of an inevitable first step.
I'm looking for
-12 guage
-18 or 20 inch barrell
-old school rifle butt stock
-wood finish (if possible, I don't have wood yet)
There's the maverick 88 of course, which would be the most kind to my wallet, but I'd kind of feel weird buying such a cheap gun, if I can get something a bit better with a bit more money I'll do it. Next up is the Remington 870 Express. I've heard too many shitty things about Remington and their quality control that I don't know if I want to trust anything by them. Their UMC ammo dirtied my glock the fuck up after only 50 rounds.
Finally there's the mossberg 500 which seems to have the best reputation. I'm having a hard time finding one online with the specs I listed. All the gunstores in my area are huge price gouging assholes and I don't have a car too. Could I buy one with a longer barrel and change it out for a shorter one later?
>>32966903
drop the - and start using >
>old school rifle butt stock
So you mean, a pistol grip butt stock.
To be honest with you OP new production shotguns are not that great. If i were you i would go check out armslist.com.
Dont buy a maverick 88, its cheap sure but it isnt quality.
Dont buy a mossberg in the first place. Ive seen quite a few fail in field use and the design is clunky.
If you have to have a modern production i would go with a remington 870 and then buy new stock for it because modern wood stocks are shit.
If i had to make a few vintage suggestions
>anything stevens
>any A5 or A5 copy like the remington model 11
>anything Remington To be honest im a fan, ive hunted with them my entire life.
>Ithaca model 37
>some vintage mossbergs
i can go on but vintage is where its at for shotguns. For other types of guns like pistols and rifles it can be touch and go people did shotguns incredibly well.
>pic related
my mid 70s Remington 1100 from when i was rabbit hunting yesterday.
I also own a mid 70s Remington 870 and my aunt and dad also own mid 70s Remington 1100's.

Beside the first uses of mortars in Afghanistan, I haven't heard much more news regarding mortars.
Is the technology already perfected or what is the cause of this?
>>32966393
Same with artillery in general.
The most there is to improve on these days are multi-thousand-dollar "smart" projectiles and/or improved fire solution software.
The real money is in counter artillery/rocket solutions.
>>32966393
>Relevant
Yes.
>Y tho
Highly portable piece of cheap indirect fire.
Yes. Indirect fire is extremely effective. Mortars are quick to use, quick to react and are extremely effective with a spotter.
Went shooting today for the first time and shot a Beretta 92FS. Shot a paper target at five yards and my accuracy was literally a circle grouping of like 2 feet. Am I the worst fucking shot in the world, or does everyone start out this shitty? 5 yards was literally the closest they put the targets at too...
>>32966048
stop
1. anticipating recoil
2. jerking the trigger rather than a smooth squeeze
3. having no "follow through" where you continuing the squeezing action rather than merely waiting for the bang
4. using your finger tips
5. using the crook between your distal and middle phlanges.
6. squeezing your entire hand along with your index finger
7. insisting on teacupping or squeezing with your supporting hand
8. breaking the wrist upwards while attempting to control recoil with just your elbow instead of absorbing it through the wrist and into your arm and shoulder.
basically git gud shitlord
>>32966048
no most people start off far better than that, far better
my guess is you are afraid of the firearm and flinch and jump when you think the recoil is coming
go get some time in on a .22
>>32966070
What the hell is wrong with teacupping? My shooting arm gets tired, you know.
