Do enlisted men make fun of officers behind their backs and call them hoity toity college boys and shit like that?
Only if they are complete idiots. Which is almost always the case....
>>34968405
Damn, now I'm reconsidering joining the forces (Canadian here) after university. I don't want to always be in an adversarial relationship with my men on a daily basis...
>>34968405
that shit's pretty much limited to the butter bars. unless it's an nco saying that shit; then it's pretty much just bitterness.
Anyone know of any survival groups in North Florida (Putnam/Clay/Volusia)?
Due to the current political climate I've been actively seeking out a group to be apart of, and unfortunately it's not as easy as just stepping outside.
Any suggestions/advice pointing me in the right direction is greatly appreciated, Thanks.

Start your own, and don't talk about it online or anywhere else.
>>34968254
I def know of a group. Stop by my office, we can discuss it. Here's my address, being your dog too.

Looking for a gun for my wife who lives by herself. Any better guns than Ruger 357?
>>34968107
Is the a veiled cuck thread?
No dude start using your brain once in a while or it will rot.
>>34968107
How many times do I have to remind you idiots, when you're asking for gun recommendations be fucking specific. Is it for carry or just home defense?
I love the Ruger revolvers but honestly they're probably not good for this, assuming she doesn't want much recoil and doesn't want to carry a bulky gun like most women. If it's for HD then get her a long gun--probably an AR15 for the low recoil--and if it's for carry it's too bulky and you should get her an LCP or some similar.
seed the ar/k/ update 1
please
I'm a UofM student finally moved out of dorms and grandparent's place so I got myself a Walmart O/U. I'm looking for a good and affordable clay range within 2-3 hour drive of Memphis. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated, and I'd love your tips for a first time gun owner.
shameful self bump
Sup I live about 50 minutes from memfrica. The town i grew up in has a nice secluded range called scatter creek. Google will turn up directions. I started to go there after a game and fish warden caught my dad and I about to open up on some snakes over by the st Francis spill way. I'd say from the Memphis bridge to scatter creek would be about a hour and a half drive. It's pretty easy to find.

Thanks for the tip. My parents when they first got married used to live in Paragould before they moved to a little town near Pickwick Dam
Hey everyone! I am looking to purchase my first rifle and was looking for some advice on which to buy. M4 Carbine, AR-15, or an AK-47. I have a basic understanding of these weapons, but what I'm hoping to get from you guys is which one you prefer and why!
Thanks ahead of time!
>>34967385
Which ever one tickles your pickle the most. Go to /arg/ or /akg/
>>34967385
AR. I'm not a famine starved Russian so the relatively small area of butt on an AK makes them pretty uncomfortable to use. If you're looking for reasons to buy one, steel case .223/5.56 is as cheap as if not cheaper than steel case 7.62x39. Mags are more plentiful and generally cost less. If you want to use optics AR is the way to go. You can mount optics on AKs, but you aren't going to get a cheek weld without a strap on riser. If possible, go shoot both and figure out which one you prefer.
The age old question. Go to a range with rentals and feel them both for yourself, no amount of shit and memes we can split at you will ever be as good as your own preference based on what you yourself have done. Also inb4 this thread turns into /akg/ vs. /arg/
I'm new to the AR world, and I would like to build my first one. I'm not looking for some high speed $1,500 build, I want something around $600 that functions well when I need it. I've been looking at various uppers, and I found this one from Palmetto State Armory http://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-16-m4-nitride-1-7-moe-blk-freedom-upper-with-bcg-ch-508045.html
Anyone have any experience with this assembly?

the freedom uppers are the 'budget" line from psa. People will tell you to get the cold hammer forged ones with that have an FN barrel. But if the freedom is all you can afford i hear they do work fine.
>>34967333
you can get a bear creek ar from classic for closer to $400 but you will still need to buy a front sight of your choice
>hahaha KEKifornians, MY state will never be as bad as yours
Oh? Hope you know its coming at you faster than you think

History Channel is doing another history-themed show like they did with Vikings. This time about the Templar Knights!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9dtepkeR0I
>>34967171
a history-themed show, on the History Channel, you say?
Calling all armor anons, how historically accurate is this? It's set in 1306 just before the templars were disbanded but they're wearing more than just great helms and chainmail here.
>>34967171
It looks cool
considering today's political climate, it might not have been the best time to release it. I an see both sides frothing at the mouth about it and never shutting up
>" Pentagon officials today announced the indictment of 4,957 armorers across all branches of the military for accepting bribes from Unilever, parent company of the Q-tips brand in a press conference."
>"Between 2001 and 2017 the company paid out an estimated $3 million for armorers to reject rifles, requiring the needless use of hundreds of millions of additional Q-tips, investigators said."
>"“Unilever told me it was in my best interest to stop looking into it, and that they knew where I lived,” said Jackson."
How are americans this dumb?

Is there any Sercurity contractors around here willing to share their storie, where did you got deployed, how long, how was pay, etc? I've served my time in the army and now i'm thinking about looking for a job in the area
Fug, it seems i'm alone

Worked with a shipping company down in guatemala. Paid to watch over a cargo ship while they load and unload containers, and make sure nobody stows away on board. About 70k a year, plus bonus for being a roustabout. Nothing remarkable to add. Sometimes we deliver around South Africa and take potshots at pirates, but they tend to steer clear of ships flying flags from the Americas.
>>34967578
It looks like a interesting way to make a living. Did you had the chance to go around the cities that the ship went to deliver? Also, would they accept an army soldier isntead of a seaman?
Hello, /k/. I'm wanting to go hunting for the first time this year. I've already got my hunter's permit and I'm looking at public hunting land near me.
I found some land at a park near me that is open for hunting, but I noticed one thing....the land set aside for hunting is also the fucking mountain bike trails...
Is it normal for hunters to share the same area that normal people will be in? I think they close during the turkey and deer firearm seasons, but that's it.
Are they expecting me to shoot rabbits/dove/pheasants in the same area that little Jimmy is riding his bike? wtf?
inb4 ask the park office or local game warden
The park office literally knows nothing about the public hunting land and the POS game warden won't call/email me back
>>34966962
Meh, plenty of national parks in NZ have both hikers and hunters all over the place.
Just know your target and what is beyomd ot and you should be fine.
>>34966962
What would happen if someone took that sign literally and started hunting the public?
>>34966962
You in Ohio anon? If you're nearby maybe i can help out
In this thread we discuss how to just wing it and go slowly.
>>34966903
For those who dont know, step 1: find or dig a tunnel.
I found this mineshaft here up in the back country of montana. Note the excellent natural concealment of the entrance.
>>34966928
Step 2: obviously yer gonna go inside.
>>34966953
Step 3: locate salamanders. You will need food and companionship in your new home.
So, there`s nothing much here about the man who originated /k/, Lenny Magill, what do most of the /k/ommandos here think about his videos and also his participation on the SHTF videos?
