This image brings up an interesting question:
What is the worst gun to be arrested with?
Also what is the patrician piece to be arrested with?
/k/ I'm interested in building a pistol with some sort of compensating mod and I need some help. I'm torn between getting a practical/tactical glock (g34/35) and getting an aftermarket ported barrel, or getting a compact glock and attaching a comp like pic related. Which of these would be better overall when it comes to things like reliability, muzzle flip reduction, bullet velocity, etc.? also, what effect does porting have on the durability/lifespan of a barrel?
>>34969642
Well porting decreases recoil but also decreases accuracy and rate if fire. Compensators reduce range but increase accuracy. If your trying to snipe use a compensator with a high power scope. Make sure you set up claymores and crouchwalk everywhere too

If you found yourself such a situation where food is scarce, would you resort to hunting feral cats or dogs?
>>34969626
forget food. I'd do it when fun is scarce

ATF pls
>>34969626
That's an urban mindset. Our buddies in the countryside are willing to shoot any animal for much less reason. But of course if I were starving I'd hunt cats and dogs. But only after rabbits, squirrels and deer run out. Not because they're lower on the totem pole of living things but because I like cats and dogs more. And also anything probably tastes better than cat or dog meat. I wouldn't know, I'm not Chinese. Can you imagine a shtf situation where a shit ton of inexperienced gun users start trying to hunt though? People will shoot up the forest and kill eachother.
hello friends, can you tell me what make of gun that fine italian policeman is holding in his arms on the picture? thank you very much

Is lockpicking a meme? Can I learn to lockpick by just buying a cheap set of lockpicks and downloading free ebooks?
>>34969207
A 12 gauge makes a great lockpick.
>>34969207
Lockpicking works. It's not crazy difficult to learn either. You probably have some unrealistic expectations on how well it works though. If you're looking to use it for anything illegal, it's not some 5 second ninja silent way or opening a locked door. In general, with manual only tools, it's either relatively quick and very loud, or relatively quiet and very slow.
>>34969207
That's exactly how I did it. Cheap picks because there's really no advantage in expensive ones, then read something about it. The only reason people think lock picking is difficult is because they have never looked into it.

Everytime I read about WW1 I learn new and interesting things about it.
WW1 thread.
I've listened to the entire Dan Carlin's Hardcore History - Blueprint for Armageddon series 4 times now, great podcast about the horrors of WW1, the accounts of soldiers on no mans land are fucking terrifying .
>Everytime I read about WW1 I learn new and interesting things about it.
Thats because WW2 oversahdowed WW2 in the western countries, especialle the USA, by far.
Yeah, WW2 was - globally seen - the bigger fuckfest. But then again (no offense) WW2 is the "war for plebs" when it comes to military history in a private environment
You know, everybody knows a little bit about WW2, theres documentations and all kinds of stuff every day on tv.
You dont find or see that about WW1. When it comes to big wars, WW1 is more of a field for """professionals""". People who know their shit about WW2 and want so see where its roots are. I mean, we all can agree that the outcome of WW1 dictated EVERYTHING about WW2.
So if you really want to understand WW2, cold war, hell, even our modern times wars, you have to take a CLOSE look at WW1. Because thats where everything originated - from a political point of view down to most basic infantry tactics.
WW1 is a blast to get into. And even more, if you consider, that by then Weapons were used, that have their modern counterparts today - while most people outside big cities still lieved without electricity or heating aside from a stove.

WW1 is so fascinating because it was a clash of the old and new.
Are hurricane-force winds enough to drown out the sound of a .22lr?
I'm in Texas and the hurricane seems like a good chance to do some shooting since who the fuck is going to stop me?
Just fucking do it. Who's gonna stop you, the hurricane?
>>34969190
>Who's gonna stop you, the hurricane?
I love this place.
>>34969190
So the real question here is how much do hurricane force winds affect the zero of a 10-22 at 100 yards?
Alright /k/,
You're given $100 million to outfit a space shuttle to be ready for space-to-space or space-to-ground combat. How do?
>>34969089
I have a few ideas
>Equip with a "Rods from God" system
>35mm Bushmaster which uses suspension from retracted landing gear as a dampener
>Payload bay holds a replica Tsar Bomba covered in ablative heat shield to survive re-entry
>removable landing gear when in orbit (done by astronauts) and replaced with a retractable rack to hold rockets or missiles
>nose cone decouples to reveal laser array to push projectiles to near relativistic speeds using a solar sail-type system
>astronauts outfitted with individual, 84mm or 105mm SBR recoilless rifles
Satellite-based electronic warfare

OP, when you made this thread did you expect it to be humorous? Did you think to yourself "oh man, this is HILARIOUS! I bet everyone is gonna chuckle and laugh and nearly piss their damn pants"
Or did you perhaps think that you're gonna troll us good and get us all a twitter because you used the name and picture of different guns.
Honestly, I just want to know what your thought process was for making such a garbage thread, that doesn't even have the merits of a "so bad it's good" thread going for it.
>>34969125
yeah man it's alright
has 40mm NATO threads and looks pretty modern.
Could this be the saving grace of surplus gas masks? or will the answer still be "get a 3M"

ITT Discuss and post badass Steampunk/Dieselpunk weapons and armor
>>34969009
Steampunk is a pleb's fantasy genre
At least cyberpunk has some credibility, it shows a probable view of the near future, where corporations have more power than governments, a high-tech, low-humanity dystopia
Steampunk is just sticking gears on Victorian era stuff

It's called a Sniper Rifle because that reflects Russian doctrine, which the Iraqi army used to be based on. In American doctrine, it's the perfect example of a DMR.
Also, any rifle can be a Sniper rifle.

If they could make one 100s of years ago without AutoCAD or blueprints, I'm sure you can make one.
Some yokel made one in his shed, so it should be fairly easy for a learned person. Also the music is down syndrome bad in the vid.
