Snow Meet Edition
[Date]: February 25th (Single Day)
[Location]: Placerville McDonalds Parking Lot
[Time]:Rally at 9AM, Departure at 10AM
In the runup to the Lucky Slav Meetup in May we're going to be trying out some new spots, and this is one of them. After we leave the McDonalds parking lot at 10AM we're going to be convoy'ing up the 50 into the high sierras and turn off onto Ice House Rd and continue on to find someplace to hang out for the day.
-----------------------
SUPER IMPORTANT SHIT READ THIS NIGGER:
This is gonna be a tricky meet to pull off since we have 4WD conditions.... but not everyone has a 4WD. Bring chains in case you need them no matter what. If you don't have 4WD, bring one rifle as you'll likely be riding with someone else who does and you won't want to be making trips back to your vehicle. If you're bringing something with 4WD, please allow some space to carry passengers.
We also request people bring tables, some firewood, tarps to catch brass, and some targets.
--------------------------
If you'd like to keep track of when we're doing meets and where, I strongly suggest joining Slack (it's basically a chatroom) where we hang out, play games, and plan these meetups in detail. If you'd like to join, post a burner email in the thread and I or one of the other admins will send you an invite.
FUTURE MEETUPS:
In addition to the snow meet here, we have more that are either planned or in the works.
[5th PANOCHE]
Yep. Another Panoche meet. This one is great for those who are too poor to go to Lucky Slav but still want to get in on the meets.
Also a great plaace for those who haven't been to one of our meets before as it's easy to get to.
Date: April 22nd, 23rd
[LUCKY SLAV HOTEL]
Meetup in an abandoned fucking ghost town. Do. Not. Miss. Everyone who has been agrees that it makes the rest of the meetup spots look like shit.
Date: May 25th - May 28th
Former Corpsman here. Just got out a few months ago. Anyone have any questions about being in the Navy specifically or military medicine? I've been drinking, so I've got time to kill
nobody cares welfare faggot
>>33054172
I wish I could qualify for welfare. Sadly, I'm white, able-bodied, and not dumb enough to have kids I can't support.
Guess I'll just have to work for a living
>>33054154
How do I into fixing stab wounds? Had an embarrassing moment when I fell onto a branch and passed out but forgot to ask the first responder what he was doing on account of me fainting.
Stop calling single-edged hunting and bushcraft knives "fighting knives." Real fighting knives are double-edged daggers with spear points, wide quillons, and heavy pommels which can be used as skull crushers.
>>33053515
It is a fighting knife. I can slashy slash and stabby stab. You're just jealous that you can't baton wood, whittle, or do other camp chores with your pleb tier, meme knife.
Damn casual.
>>33053547
Pic related. A real fighting knife.
>>33053515
More importantly, why is the guy on the far left stabbing himself?
The tanto blade meme needs to die. It's a stupid marketing gimmick Lynn Thompson started in the 80s. No, it doesn't make the tip stronger. It just gives you less usable edge length for slicing.
>muh katanas!
This is a weeaboo myth. Real samurai weapons had curved edges all the way to the tip. It was only later, decorative blades that had the tanto point.
o-okay anon. I'll be sure to spread
the word.
but tanto blades are
A E S T H E T E H T E I C
>>33053160
Honestly, I have bought into the "tanto is a meme" meme. Because, it's weebish, and even if it does make the tip a bit stronger, I do not need a strong stabbing blade in a pocket knife. That's not in line with what you use a pocket knife for 99% of the time
Alright I'm getting my first gun with my tax return so what would be the best first gun? I want something that can be relatively tactical or fun to modify.
>>33052913
Get an AR15 and be done with it
>>33053027
Seriously. It's amazing that these threads still pop up.
>>33052913
If you don't have a conceal carry piston, get a pistol and get your conceal permit if you don't have that too. If you do have those things, just buy an AR, extra mags and ammo.
The petition that was ran the past month did not reach its goal in fact it was short of 2,500 or so signatures. Here is the closed petition link: https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/repeal-1986-hughes-amendment
Repeal the Hughes Amendment. This law serves no purpose in reducing crime, and infringes on the rights of Americans.
Created by N.C. on February 19, 2017
This law was passed illegally and unconstitutionally without a proper vote after being stuck to another bill in a lame duck session by some oathbreaking democrat. This law infringes on the rights of American citizens, while having no effect on reducing crime.

The mods that visit /k/ are such faggots. You know they only delete this shit because it triggers them. Pun intended
Remember to share to all of your normie friends on kikebook and twatter too
>>33052801
Are the mods even /k/ natives?
>>33052813
Mods are global.
It's a matter of whoever stops eating hot pockets long enough to scan the report queue.
Anyone have any ideas for a newfag in firearms ownership? I'm currently 18 living in Illinois, which means I can own a shotgun.
>>33051912
That's funny, a friend of mine lives just outside of chicago and owns an AR, an sp-01, sks, and 10/22
Illinois firearm ownership laws are all fucked. Libcuck state.
Where at in IL? Hopefully not Cook county.
How does one go about washing body armor plate carriers? I've worn mine out to a few shooting sessions and now it smells like sweat and gun powder....just remove the plates and throw it in the wash?
>>33051785
Why would you do that?
Sweat and gun powder are the two best smells in the entire world....
That's like wanting to not smell coffee when you wake up...
Besides, dirty rigs are best rigs.
scrub with a rag and hot water, let dry, perferably outside
Would use tide or any kind of soap? Or just hot water? Thanks, OP
So I'm gonna shoot one of these cuties tomorrow, any tips to shoot properly? Even though I'm probably gonna shoot all the shots as fast as I can
>>33051696
Inhale the gun smoke as much as possible. It makes one's dick harder, longer, and terrifying to lesbians
Put the things in the thing and thing a thing until thing and the thing doesn't thing
>>33051696
If you're not going to fire an MG42 after eating some schokakola, you're doing it wrong.
why does /k/ hate the mini 14 again
>inb4 hurph durph not an ar 15
>>33051470
I unironically prefer the way classic rifles like the Mini 14 feel over "assault" style rifles with pistol grips like ARs.
>>33051470
They're kind of expensive for what they are
>>33051470

As you might have guessed I'm from Austria. My grandfather is a hunter and I'll eventually inherit his rifles and shotguns but it would be a shame to just sell them on or let them rust away in a corner.
So, experiences or tips on how to get into guns/shooting in Europe? I know this'll be different depending on the country, and I've already done some research, but I'm not sure where to start exactly. If a fellow Austrian browses /k/ then that would be ideal obviously.
I know that I could legally own category D, C and B weapons depending on the bureaucratic nonsense I'm willing to put up with, so that's most things except for shotguns with a very short barrel, pump action shotguns, fully automatic rifles, etc.
What I'm worried about are additional costs for storage, transportation, that sort of thing.
How/where do I learn proper maintenance? Again, how much do I need to expect maintenance to add to the overall cost?
First rifle/shotgun/handgun for someone completely new to this?
Also, do I have to just deal with hearing damage over time? Playing music is another hobby of mine and hearing damage would obviously be detrimental to that.
As for shooting clubs/ranges, there seem to be some near me. One of them is from the Heeressportverein (military sports club, but it's open to the public) the rest are privately owned. Again, no clue where to start here.
Thanks for any replies.

aint that were Hitler was from right we beat u fuckers in a war haha bet u wont try shit with us again hey motherfucker

Speak to your local gun shop owner. I lived in Austria for two years and mine were very helpful (in Feldkirch, Vorarlberg and various shops and ranges I visited across the country). They even put up with my terrible German and stupid questions, so they'll be happy to help you. This was decades ago, but I've returned since and they're as friendly as ever.
Did you not do conscription?
>How/where do I learn proper maintenance?
Most weapons will have maintenance guides available from the manufacturer. Check their website.
>Also, do I have to just deal with hearing damage over time?
Not at all. Acquire some hearing protection. It's very good these days.
>As for shooting clubs/ranges, there seem to be some near me. One of them is from the Heeressportverein (military sports club, but it's open to the public) the rest are privately owned. Again, no clue where to start here.
Joining a club is always a good idea, particularly when you're new to the sport. They will usually have club weapons that you can use, particularly on open days.
You should also ask your grandfather. He's looked after and used those weapons for years, probably decades, so he'll know them inside and out.
Hi fellow Austrian
I'm going to get myself the Waffenbesitzkarte in the near future sonI dug into the matter of our regulations.
I advise you to look up intro threads on the websites pulverdampf and iwoe.
They have all the info you need.
Additionally, you can look up the individual laws that regulate this kinda stuff here.
Oh and by the way, if your grandfather is a hunter, you can keep all the weapons because they are probably Kategorie C and D. You only need a gun safe.
What's /k/'s dream war?
Who would you like to see fight or what fight would you like to be a part of?
US vs North Korea (without chinese intervention) it would be like another desert storm, just us kicking ass.
>>33050563
Belarus vs. Russia (real chance of this happening if Putin tries to have Lukashenko overthrown and Belarus absorbed Crimea-style)
Serbia vs. Kosovo Electric Boogaloo (the recent tensions over the Russian-made train with Serb nationalist graffiti made me think of this)
Iran and its allies vs. Israel, without external interference (i.e., no U.S. intervention)
Indonesia vs. Australia without foreign intervention
Brazil vs. Venezuela
>>33050563
Been there, did it.
In an ideal world, all of us - you.
>maverick 88 pricing
What's the catch? This thing going to spontaneously combust? Is it not as accurate with slugs?

It's a great shotgun. It's just harder to mod than a 500.
It's basically a Mossberg 500 without a tang safety and a couple parts made cheaper.
I have that exact model. I've owned mine for 3 years and use it almost weekly. Got it for $150 OFF Armslist.
Literally never had a single problem with mine. After shooting it a couple times, I buffed and polished any parts that might have rubbed. Also replaced the pump.
One day out shooting, my friends couldn't believe that my 88 was smoother than their Gucci 500's.
I recommend it! 500's & 590's are great too. But for the price -- 88 all the way.
Has anyone thought of trying out?

Ok so there was an interesting thread earlier today which had the following premise:
Aliens have selected you to travel back in time to prehistory - say 50,000 years ago. You must survive for twenty years. You get to take ten items with you, as much as you can carry unaided. If you survve you get your twenty years back pls 100 million dollars. The whole thing is for a reality show.
Ok so. What ten items? Assume a weapon, ammo and cleaning/maintenance kit is one item. The limiting factor here is weight.
Remember you will have to contend with predators far more formidable than today's - sabre-toothe tigers, giant lions, short-faced bears, cave hyenas, dire wolves etc.
New factor: Humans. you are dropped into inter-glacial Europe when Homo sapiens sapiens is moving north and encountering Homo neanderthalis. There are probably several other human species knocking around too.
So, what do you take? What is you short-term, mid-term and long-term survival strategy?
>>33050289
>There are probably several other human species knocking around too.
Not really, unless you're somewhere in the South-east Asia.
>>33050289
I'd bring lots of first aid medicine and some tools (i'd have to think which) then likely try to integrate with a tribe. I can teach them metal working and hopefully help them for 20 years.
>>33050289
You'd probably end up killing off a lot of the local species with the modern day germs and viruses you carry that they won't be immune to.
