Snowflake and or unknown/ strange tank thread :
I'll start, mbt 70
MBT70 is neither at this point, since it's literally the prototype phase of both Abrams and Leo2.
MGS series is great for learning this shit.
French ELC project
Not a light tank as a certain tank game might make you believe, but a light TD/ assault gun. Air transportable (only like 7 tons or something), with a low pressure 90mm gun and an 80 kph top speed
Crew of 2 in the turret. Could traverse all the way while the vehicle was stationary but just a little while it was moving
Armor was just enough to protect it from small arms and grenade shrapnel and so on

Man the French really went all the way with light tanks after ww2.
So i often see military folks bitch about how the DS in movies is comically wrong.
Is this true? What are the DS like in real life?
>>33069318
Equal parts your mum, your dad and Satan.
>>33069318
>DS
Post picture of a DI
OPs pic from FMJ is probably the best representation of DIs though. Minus the physical abuse part as they are not going to punch you and choke you like Gunny does. That movie actually makes boot look easy.

DI = army
DS = marines

What does it matter? You can't unspend your money. What do you want, some hollow validation of a purchase you didn't research enough to feel good about in the first place?
>>33067792
Did that with a 1903 springfield I bought, tried to justify owning it as my first rifle but in the end, traded it back in for an ak cause of the rifle's history and 30.06 is expensive and I'd like to shoot more than. Once every few months.
So tomorrow I start testing for a dispatcher position for my local PD. Hopefully this will be a foot in the door because I really want to be a police officer and always have wanted to be ever since I was a little kid. Tomorrow might just be the day I take that first step into the career I have longed for, for my entire life. I'm not really nervous but...curious as to what will happen. I have almost no idea what to expect so any of you guys a dispatcher or used to be one? Tips? Advice? Things you wish you could tell your younger self?
Also, Law Enforcement Officer General I guess.

Lt. General Herbert Raymond "H. R." McMaster is now the new NSA following Flynn's resignation.
McMaster is known for leading Eagle troop of the 2nd ACR during the Battle of 73 Easting where outnumbered and outgunned US armored units encountered a large Iraqi armored force and completely routed the Iraqi forces defending the area.

Confession thread. Confess and repent for your sins, /k/omrades. I'll start.
While not a fudd, I unironically love wood on all of my firearms, going so far as to buy an AR-15 with a wood furniture set.
I also suck American milsurp dick, I've got a Garand, 1911, M1903A4, and a M1 carbine
I haven't shot 75% of my guns.
>>33063210
I've been here for 9 years and still can't triforce.
All of my guns are black and have pistol grips, the most "old school" of them a l1a1. No wood or bolt actions to be found.
This will be corrected soon.
>>33063247
WTF dude
I clean my guns very rarely even after putting 500 rounds through it
Here's the ar-15 design at its peak.

/ARG/ would hate it.
How much does one round of 30×173 mm ammunition cost the taxpayer? I can't find it on Google. The A10 fires 4200 rounds per minute, and I'm trying to figure out how much money is being spent per minute of running that cannon.

Military purchase records from 2001 list API at $26.04 per round and training rounds at ~$11.00 a piece.

The first one had an MP5. But it also had an m60 and minigun. I cringed the most over that AFG directly in front of the magwell even though he has like a 15" handguard.
I'm in the market for my first handgun, I was really hoping to go with a 1911, but due to budgetary restraints I'm looking towards cheaper options.
What handguns would you guys recommend in the $300 price range?
Used Glock
>>33060322
FMK 9c1 G2 can be had for around that price for brand new, it's essentially a glock with better ergos (IMO)
aside from that, see if you can find a decent S&W M&P used, or a G19 used. they can be had for around the price point mentioned
>>33060322
>What handguns would you guys recommend in the $300 price range?
Nothing. Stop being a jew, save your money, and buy what you want. You don't want anything in the $300 range, you'll regret it.
Thank me later.

Nigga are you blind??
Why are there so many people, especially online, that like to boast about their great weapon's knowledge while not even having a cursory understanding of the subject? How can we get quality people out there that know what they're talking about when it comes to the particular fields of weaponry, military tactics and history, and even just basic shit like how machine guns are used on the battle field when there are dipshits like pic related that can't even iron and button up their shirts?

Oh look, it's another thread where massively autistic anons get triggered by Lindybeige, because they think he holds an opinion they disagree with.
