Home defense?
I didn't shoot or kill anyone, but I think I scared the shit out of them. And when I sobered up, I scared the shit out of me from my stupidity.

Someone tried my door when I was at the range, 45 minutes away with my neighbor. My gf was home alone and I took literally every gun I owned.

So I drove back fast as I could and my neighbor and I cleared my yard and the rest of my property, then his side (duplex)

Later that night about 3 (I don't sleep til 4) my dog starts barking frantic as FUCK. Then I hear someone try my porch door. Knob turns halfway, the whole bang

I'm beyond pissed at this point. I had shot all my 5.56 and all I had left was my nugget with the bayonet. I go out with this wearing only my underwear and flip flops and wait for like half an hour before finally hearing footsteps of whoever was hiding running away.

I finally let out the fart I had been holding.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: don't buy milsurp just to get a cheap shooter. If nothing else, the extra cost and hassle of buying an unusual ammo caliber will make it not worth the purchase before long. If you want a cheap handgun, get a Hi Point. Their ergonomics suck, but they're reliable and built like a tank, they come with an industry-leading warranty, and both spare parts and ammo are cheap and widely available.

A P64 is a good starter for COLLECTING firearms, not for a shooter. They're cheap and C&R eligible so they're good for just buying when you get your C&R. The 9x18 Mak isn't commonly avalible and you'd do most of your ammo shopping online. Also, there is only one defensive load that they make in 9x18, while there are thousands in 9x17 (.380 Auto) and/or 9x19. Just save up and buy a Surplus 92S or S&W Smegma.

SoF are more or less standardized by Western nations. Basically U.S. SoF and major European powers' SoF share the same training regime (sometimes practice with each other) and operation practice. Same with the South Eastern (Australia) and Eastern countries like Korea and Japan. Then it goes down to what the SoF group is designed for. Gurkhas still operate within both British and Indian forces, as well as work as mercenaries and police force.

Russian and Chinese SoF follow similar training methods as the West, admittedly with less toys and tools at their disposal. After that, most of the world's nations who aren't allied with US have SoF that are usually exception in a really shitty army.

A Maverick 88 or Stevens 320
A Ruger 10/22 or Marlin 60
A CVA Hunter .243

All of these can be found under $200 if you shop around a little. All are good-quality, new-build firearms. All serve their purpose just fine.

It's pretty relaxed up here, I feel like we have a much bigger gun community here though because we had a lot of people come from comifornia after those laws were placed there. Besides everyone just gets high and shoots guns anyways so I doubt anyone wants to even change the laws here, even the fudds are chill here. Just stay out of Seattle, too many homeless.
