Going by aesthetic alone, what is the best tank of WWII?
>>33139233
Jagdpanther.
>>33139233
M4A3E8 or the Sherman Firefly, hands down.
>>33139233
I personally have a soft spot for the classic Sherman. Something about the smooth rounded lines, you know?

http://www.thetimes.co.uk/edition/news/misfire-as-new-navy-ships-lack-missiles-jmp25bnkn
>A navy programme to build a fleet of new warships at a cost of £8bn has been branded a “dog’s breakfast” after it emerged the ships would have missile-launching tubes — but Britain has no missiles to fire from them.
>The construction of the first of eight Type 26 frigates is due to start this summer, yet defence experts warn that it could enter service with silos — intended to launch missiles against other ships and targets on land — containing “fresh air” instead of weapons.
Thought I might address this one before it starts making the rounds.
1. Neither the ship or Mk41 is in service as they don't exist. So this isn't a real issue.
2. The Type 26 will be carrying 48 CAMM missiles in a separate launcher to the Mk41.
3. CAMM is missile that can be loaded into Mk41 - additionally CAMM can be quadpacked into Mk41.
>>33136068
Does it even matter? We all know it will just be used for basic patrol duties. As long as the gun works it will be fine.
>>33136076
Whilst tasty bait, what gives you that idea?
>>33136080
I'm not the same poster, but by my understanding, while it is supposed to be multi-mission vessel, the Type-26's most important job will be ASW. It will be equipped with an advanced towed sonar array and capable of operating two ASW helicopters. So long as that is the case, it will be fit for purpose.
Major surface opponents are more likely to be deterred by the RN's SSN's and soon the F-35B's on the QE carrier. Smaller vessels can be dealt with by the upcoming helicopter borne Sea Venom missile. the fact the Type-26 won't go straight into service with a heavy AShMs isn't really a big deal.
Isn't manoeuvrability more important now than it has been since the 1960s/1970s?
Since 30 years ago two 4th gen fighters could reliably launch a missile at each other 50 or more kilometres away, but now with stealth aircraft that might be 20 kilometres or even lower. And the closer you are the more important being able to turn is.
>>33135344
irs useful when you have shitton aa on the ground like pRussians
Assuming you mean for dogfighting, it doesn't make much difference when your opponent can HOBS a heater at you that you have next to zero chance of escaping. You forget that missiles get better too.
It is more cost efficient to invest in better radar/sensors so you can spot your opponent first, VLO for the same reason, and the electronic side of countermeasures rather than trying to out-turn a sidewinder or an AMRAAM in the NEZ.

Legion for all.
>>33134584
Ave amicus, Cæsar conquers all degenerates.
>>33134538
Rounds 1, 2, and 3 all go the Legion.
Round 4 goes to the War Boys simply because they can perform intense hit and runs tactics.
If all else fails, just run the legion over.
Why do we fight?
Fight who? There hasnt been a relevant war in 6 years and never will be.
The military is obsolete
There is kebab afoot.
>>33134223
Conventional military is. It's all about Special Operations units and air strikes now.
should we pool our money together and buy a titan II nuclear bunker? theyre easy to renovate and reasonably cheap
>>33134206

Nah
I'd rather not be trapped underground with furries and closeted homos with guns
Maybe if there was screening sure

ITW fastmags: really solid retention and reindexing is a breeze however I would not use them with GI mags because they take a huge amount of force to draw for some reason pmags are fine. Stacking method is p cool too if you are into that

shellback tactical plate carrier: i've had if for almost three years, It's held up to mild use. I take out and wear it 24/7 for a couple days every couple months. The velcro closure is holding up well to me taking it on and off when i just wear it around the house. Its decently comfortable, the only con i see to it is the quick release buckles in the shoulders dig into my collar bones if i wear a rucksack.
Went to the range and I dry fired my weapons to make sure they were clear while I was pointed down range. Rangemaster came up and told me how bad it was. It sounds like BS to me "firing pin doesn't have anything to strike so it's bad" I have high quality weapons....is dry firing bad? Thanks guys.
>>33131120
If the firing pin isn't hitting anything, how could it be bad?
Take a hammer, and swing it in the air. Did anything happen?
>>33131120
If its a modern striker fire pistol like a glock you can dry fire all day. Ars are fine. Anything like a rimfire isnt good to dry fire tho.
Crystallizes the metal in the firing pin, bro.
Dry firing nearly any modern center fire rifle is fine.

Does /k/ even support spoiler tags? I can't remember. Here's hoping.
Is there a valid military argument against going in and fucking up Russia right now?
> their nuclear arsenal is likely non functional after years of sanctions
> we have mad dog mattis, they have bitch putin
> bitch putin is playing stupid games stealing territory from us in Ukraine, and needs to get his prize

>>33130502
God I can't wait until some regional conflict with China or Russia. Dem body bags
Why do people buy this shit? Everytime I go to the range, there is at least one XD among the pile of guns everyone fucking brings. No exception. XD's are unproven, have never been issued to any LE agencies in the States and they have a grip safety that can completely lock a gun up if it so happens to break.
Why is it that every casual or first time gun owner gets suckered into buying this from the fuckface behind the counter? Does Springfield give gunshops incentives to push their product out? Fuck, buy an M&P at the least if you're going to complain about how 'expensive' Glocks are.
>>33129802
They shoot okay, have an easy slide to rack, and are cheap relative to perceived (read: not necessarily real) value.
The latter being the really big factor.
>>33129802
I know of one agency in NM that issues the XD 45 and one in Texas that does the same.
Why do you care what other people buy? Does it have any impact at all on your life whatsoever?
>>33129802
You sure got a chip on your shoulder, bud.
The most aesthetic plane of WWII. That is all.
Weird, that doesn't look like an FM-2.
