Is there something wrong with the maxim 9? Every video I've seen of it people shoot 5 or less rounds through it. I was really pissed about the fullmag video today. Fucking shot it once in the loudest windiest place he could have found and then talked about himself and a stuffed animal for the rest of the video.
Both this and the Hudson 9 had the same treatment. I'm skeptical of both.

>why don't you guys like vaporware
Boof posted one disassembled and described how it worked.
Seemed ok.
Didn't seem 1400$ ok, but still neat.
>>33154758
Why not both?
Yeah

Not all that rare but they are nice shooters. I've yet to experience the rumored 'wandering zero' with my 1945 Fazakerley.
I have lost a fuckton of weight and summer is around the corner and I need a smaller, slimmer CCW. I currently carry a USPc and I feel like it will be too big to CCW. The Glock 43 seems the obvious choice, I have held and shot them and they are great little guns. However I just cant help but feel something else would be better. I have been looking into the Sig P239, however it seems like it is basically the same size as a P225 which I already have (actually a P6). Would the P239 be a good choice? Or should I just go with the smart, obvious choice and go with a Glock 43?
>Exeter shit

>>33154497
I lost a shit load of weight (size 52 pants down to size 36). Was carrying a P229 when I was a ham planet. Now I carry a G19. Feelsgoodman.
>>33154655
How much have you lost? I have lost 65 pounds, down from 295 to 230, shooting for 200.
I don't know shit about them, whether leather is better than fabric or whatever. I'm going to be carrying a Glock 19 in a NSR Tactical C-1 appendix holster. I'd like something comfortable but I really want something that's going to be reliable more than anything. Any recommendations?
>>33154359
I got a relentless tactical leather belt. It's been working pretty good for me.
>>33154359
Ares Ranger is the shit, I've had mine for almost 3 years and it's just as rigid as it was when I got it. I've only ever carried full size or compact guns on it.
The best thing about having a good belt is that you don't have to cinch it tight for it to support whatever you attach to it.
>>33154359
Bigfoot Gun Belts. Steel ribbon running through it means no holster wiggle as you walk AND it doesn't scream "I have a gun."
Alright /k/, I want some glorious M16a1 furniture and an upper to match. I've seen some pics of people with wooden triangle grips and stuff, but obviously I want a furniture set in SCAREE TACTICAL SALT WEPON black. Where can I obtain such things?
>>33154356
Try google, a1 furniture sets are cheap and plentiful.
But if you dont get proper a1 controls, upper/lower recievers, forward assist and dust cover dont bother, a2/a1 rifles are abortions.

Thanks for the tip
Imagine:
Osama Bin Whoever has [place extremely attractive chick's name here] with a gun to her head in the middle of shitholes Islamaland #4567890 in some shitty building. She's minutes from being executed. Seconds away is a fighter aircraft with a missile. That missile is carrying a shit ton of drones. Tiny drones with cameras on them. That missile fires at the shitty building. Those missile detonates flinging drones at a few hundred miles per hours. Those drones are super maneuverable, flitting through this shitty building and continuously looking for this hot chick's face. Everyone who isn't this hot chick is met with an exploding drone flying a few hundred miles per hour. In a few fractions of a second, this chick is the only person alive in this building surrounded by tons of headless Hajis. Think about it. I think it could be done. This weapons platform could be called The Fuckhive.
I thought of this after watching that stupid Navy vid of the quadrocopter drones being dumped from an F/A-18 Hornet.
I'm drunk but the idea is still solid. I don't know how this chick gets home, that's her problem.
This is what those stealth blackhawks are for.
Sometimes I think about dropping SAD paramilitaries out of the bomb racks of B-2 Spirits.

Well, we already have this:

which is a pretty good start, IMHO.

>I thought of this after watching that stupid Navy vid of the quadrocopter drones being dumped from an F/A-18 Hornet.
They're planes. Little tandem-wing planes. One propeller. Not four. Not quadcopters.
Hello,
Two days ago, I lost a duck to turtles (yes, TURTLES!!) in my pond. Last night, I found a 6 foot snake in the hen house, which I dispatched with an axe (although not before it struck at me twice).
So, I'm finally ready to buy a varmint gun like my wife has been begging me for the past 5 years.
I'm an ex-Marine weapons platoon sgt who fired high expert with his M-14 or M-16 at the rifle range four years straight, so I know about guns and how to handle them. However, I've never owned a weapon as a civilian so know little about civilian weaponry, and I doubt they will let me rustle up and M-14.
So here I am for advice. What's a good all-purpose rifle for varmints? I need one for snakes, coons, possums, and turtles, maybe a coyote. We have bobcats around here but they don't tend to come up close enough to the house to worry about.
I don't need one for home protection, since that is not something I tend to worry about. Just a good, all 'round varmint killer.
Types of guns would be good (22, shotgun, etc), but brands would be nice to know about as well. I figure some may be more reliable or accurate than others.
So, what's your choice of weapons when it comes to killing critters?
>>33154149
That all you wanna use it for? if so, is cost efficiency whats most important to you or do you like nice things?
AR-15
>>33154149
Get a bolt action chambered in 22wmr
I keep hearing how ".40 is the best caliber for cops." Why is this? Is it just a meme? Pic unrelated.
>>33154086
>>33154086
.40 is a maymay all the way around
>>33154095
So why do so many cops use it?
>>33154153
Cops in my area carry fucking Taurus 709 slims. Just because police carry them, doesnt mean they are good. It just means it fit within the budget.
I know /k/ loves their moist nuggets, but apparently looking elsewhere, a lot of people really like the Gewehr 98 much more than the Mosin.
I'm grabbing a bolt action rifle too, and I'd rather not grab something new like the R700, and I want something for the history. I'd believe both rifles are equal in their history, because they both fought each other in two wars and were developed at around the same time.
So /k/, what do?
>>33154005
The mosin is a fucking garbage rod and I love it for what it is. The bolt takes far more effort than a mauser's does to work desu, but it's nice. It clicks and pops in ways that just about make me cum.
The bolt of a mosin also has like 6 parts too, so there's that. I learned how to disassemble it and reassemble it in the better part of 30 minutes.
>>33154005
Who the FUCK would buy a Mosin at the prices people are charging now? You can L I T E R A L L Y buy a German-origin Mauser 98 for the same price or $20 more.
>>33154005
See that pic is retarded, they're comparing a WW2 rifle to a WW1 rifle.
I think the Mauser 98 action of the Gew.98 is better, but the sight picture on the M91/30 is much better than that of the Lange-Vizier of the Gew.98. Swedish m/96 sight picture is way better than that of the Gew.98.

what's this mean?

>letting people tell you what to think

Sheeple gtfo
Dumb nerds probably buy rip off "self defense" ammo at a 300% Mark up.
>>33153710
If anyone pays more than $0.50 / rnd for "premium" ammo they're human trash
>>33153710
I bet you give real good handjobs with those pretty hands of youre
>>33153762
Here's your (You)
>land of the free
>not even free to decide weapon volume
>>33153662
You stupid whinging cunts. Put in a fucking permit application and pay the $200 in Australia we're lucky to have even a bolt action and fucking forget all about suppressors! Get over it, child!
>>33153662
Don't get me started. What is CCW really? It's the government taking away your 2nd amendment rights so they can sell them back to you.
>>33153790
Just because your situation is completely FUBAR doesn't mean ours isn't shitty. You're like the trashy girls in high school who bitch about how their lives are the worst whenever someone else mentions bad things happening.
What the fuck is Modern Naval Warfare?
Or to be more specific, what the fuck would naval combat in a modern shooting war look like?

This is not applicable for a number of reasons.

Go play Wargame
I'm soon to be a new gun owner, I'm very liberal though.
I need a range to shoot in but I don't wanna be exposed to a whole political ecosystem when I shoot, I'd rather shoot without hearing politics mentioned at all.
Is there any kind of Range in either DC, Maryland, PA, Virginia, or Delaware you can suggest?
Are parks an option to escape politics while I shoot?
Ive never heard politics at my range, in fayettville, NC
>>33153600
Put the muzzle under your chin and fire upwards. Why did you support gun violence by buying that?
>>33153627
Well the NRA is heavily involved in gun culture, and they have a history of being extremely political and their politics clash with mine.
I respect the beliefs of the right wing, but I'd rather not be around it.
Best way to refinish a mosin stock without bubba gunning it? Shelac is nasty
>>33153472
Wonder what a mosin would look like in candy apple red...
>Refinishing
>Not bubba
Pick one.
>>33153528
I want it to look almost factory, ive used it for a while and the shelac is peeling off
