I would think it would depend on what you are allergic to.
Well, just name a few of the commons allergies and chances are one is what I might or might not have.
I don't like giving out any information, no matter how small, even anonymously. Who knows what who can do with what, and how. I'm just paranoid.
Thinking that I might lay down my hard earned schmeckles on a Springfield Saint. Was wondering if your boys had any opinions/experiences to share on it.

So nothing new to write home about?
A really good friend of mine's dad is selling a Model 54 back star. You thoughts on this gun?
Also the selling price is $200 dollars really tempted to buy it. I also found out about it today as well.
>>33178864
7.62 tok is one of the best self defense rounds. If you are lucky in getting that API surplus than you are already set for an affliction of the greatest pain.
>>33178864
if you have to consult /k/ over a $200 purchase thats sad.
that said its 50 bucks cheaper than average just get it. would be a hell of alot better than zastavas bullshit.
There great buy it that's the going rate...
Does it trigger you when someone calls this a "silencer"?

Rude.
>>33178853
Does it trigger you when people call you autistic
Because you're genuinely autistic. You don't get mad when people who aren't as autistic as you don't refer to 9mm as "9x19mm Parabellum" each and every time

Why is brass cased 7.62x39 so expensive?
>>33178803
bc a majority of people would rather shoot cheap steel tula or wolf out of their aks and sks.
>>33178803
Because nothing that eats x39 really needs it in brass. They are all designed by commie bastards to keep it cheap. No reason it can't stay cheap.
>>33178803
1. There's so much steel cased 7.62x39 options that bass cased ammo is a niche, and not bought at the same quantity.
2. A good AK will reliably shoot steel; no need for brass
3. The only rifles that need brass in this caliber(Mini 30) are somewhat uncommon compared to ak rifles.
4. Brass costs more than steel.
Would you join the French Foreign Legion?
>>33178728
If I somehow fail out of the Army then yes.
>>33178728
If my life went completely off the rails to shit and I needed a fresh start, then sure. But as it stands I don't see much appeal in digging ditches in Mali for the French.
>>33178761
By joining the Legion it seems like you would forfeit all of the tangible benefits of the Army like tuition assistance and veteran preferential hiring but then double down on adventure and action. They're pretty much the blunt end of France's club since French citizens don't care if a bunch of foreigners die fighting in French Guinea
Would you be for it, in the modern day?
What about for sport, used wax bullets in the past. I'm sure there is a safer alternative these days.

Yes, political shitflinging would be a lot more interesting.
Do you ever practice or fuck around dry firing, I've seen mixed opinions here and wanted to hear what ya'll have to say.
I talked to my cousin whom is SF (Green Beret, seriously, not memeing), a competitive shooter and a police sgt. and they all pretty much had the same answer.
If you know the gun is clear, check the mag well, the chamber, the back of it and pinky the barrel and you know your gun is clear there is no danger practicing dry firing. My cousin and the comp shooter said they spend a good 10 minutes doing this before a judged shooting at the range or sometimes all day at home practicing triggering on little targets.
I know some safety hard heads will say always treat a gun like its loaded but if you check that it's clear 3 times and again, what is the arm practicing your sighting and your trigger pull?
One thing my cousin taught me I wasn't aware of is when you're aiming down the sight with both eyes you focus on the front site (handgun) and aim at the blur in the background. I always aimed at the target not focusing on the sight.
>>33178604
You do that with any sight mate. Focus on the front post and aim at the blur.
I dry fire all the time. Just buy some snap caps of you're worried about breaking something.
Yes, dry fire is excellent practice. Do it as much and as often as you can. Make sure you're actually getting something out of it though.
Grip the gun like you would live fire, focus on your front sight like you would dry fire, and WATCH HOW THE GUN MOVES. You want to make sure your front sight is as steady as possible throughout your entire trigger pull, and especially at the break.
>>33178604
>>33178695
Context dependent it's fine to have a soft sight picture on both the post and the target or even a hard sight focus on the target depending on range/skill/ability/confidence
kinesthetic shooting can shave time if you are comfortable when to use it
What Percentage of /k/'s income does it put aside, generally, to purchase firearms, ammunition or accessories if any?

10%, same as I would give the church if I went.
>>33178553
30%.

I've donated plasma to get money to buy a gun.
What is up /k/. I am starting some new projects. I have inherited quite a few older rusted/ broken firearms of varying degrees of quality. I want to start trying to work on them and perhaps get them fixed up. What, specifically, would be a good set of gunsmithing tools to get and where is the best place to get them. Im talking about screwdrivers, specialized punches, and maybe even tools to get stripped screws out. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, will heating up blued guns with a torch ruin the bluing? Some of the parts need a little "encouragement" to get un stuck. I will be glad to post my progress on here. As always, i love u fellow /k/ids.
>>33178455
>hey /diy/ I want to refurbish an old moldy house that I inherited. Where can I buy tools and can you explain to me in two sentences how to install plumbing and electricity and how to replace the roof too? As always thank you /d/udes I can't wait to learn how to do all of the aforementioned in this thread!'
>>33178455
>hey /g/ I just bought my first computer and want to learn hacking. What software do you recommend and where should I download it. I'm talking the stuff you use to hack the Pentagon. Also would wrapping my laptop in ice to keep it cool be bad? Sometimes it gets really hot so I figure the ice and water will keep it cool. I'll be glad to tell you how good I am at hacking as I progress starting with big banks and maybe later large governments. You /g/uys are the best.

What is up /o/. I am starting some new projects. I have inherited quite a few older and broken tractors of varying degree of quality. I want to start working on them and perhaps fix them up. What, specifically, would be a good set of automotive tools to get and where is the best place to get them. I'm talking about screwdrivers, oil filter wrenches, tire gauges, some specialized automotive tools that I don't know the name of, and maybe even tools to get stripped bolts out. Any help would be greatly appreciated. By the way, how do you properly hold a tool?
Also, is it bad for the tractor if I take out transmission and rebuild the engine in the same day? I will be glad to post my progress on here, I can already tell that rebuilding that engine might even take me longer than 2 hours. As always, you are /o/wesome
There are two schools of thought on increasing the efficacy of bullets. One is to make them bigger. The 458 Win and 50 Beowulf are examples of this paradigm. Elmer Keith and Jeff Cooper were proponents of it. The other is to make them faster. Roy Weatherby was the biggest proponent of this paradigm, and the 264 Win Mag is the perfect example of it. Obviously, they both have some merit, but which is better overall: a big, slow bullet or a small, fast bullet?
>>33178425
according to David Pedzel, the IQ of the rifleman is inversely proportional to the caliber he uses when hunting.
I don't know what is better, but I like big and slow for handguns.
>>33178504
Big and slow is predicated upon handguns by the limitations of their barrel length and frame strength. You just can't get handgun bullets above about 2000 fps without using freakishly long barrels or light for caliber bullets.
so i bought an AR...can I actually hunt anything except ISIS with this thing or did I fall for a meme?
Did it die in 1 hit?
No?
Shoot it again.
Easy.
>>33178381
anything smaller or equal in size to a deer, Just get the right ammo for it and only shoot within 100 yards if it's a deer.

Not really. Air force has their own security apparatus to prevent that kind of thing, for example
>>33178310
My answer is this:
Try it and get back to us.
>>33178310
Nah, you get 5 stars for that.
Hey there /k/. What's your opinion on the Tavor?
Personally, I'm rather fond of it. Bullpup design, highly durable, reliable in harsh environments (dirt, sand, etc).

I like my SAR, pic related.
