About $2000 on armslist, possibly $4k on an open auction. It's a very rare late 18th century Prussian naval officers sidearm. Congrats op you lucky bastard

Have you seen tall people? They usually look like that
>abandons H&K entirely after can't cripple a burly Slav in the kneecaps
> adopts Tarzan tactical glock
> bad guys are bullet sponges requiring 30 bullets to kill (and the sumo who takes 8 head shots)
> reluctantly adopts kimber 1911
> one shots everyone
1911 master race confirmed
I'd also argue a benelli semi-auto is a pleb-tier choice in shotty

How does someone become a gunsmith? What work does the typical gunsmith do? What tools are needed?Pic unrelated, Chilean training ship Esmeralda passing the USS Missouri.
Be very clear, do you want to be a gunsmith or do you want to fantasize that you're going to invent guns? Two very different things
>how
Get a certificate from a gun smithing course or lie about it
>work
85% tapping receivers for scopes, 5% swapping pistol sights or other dumb shit that retards can't do themselves, and 10% telling people you don't have the equipment or time to do what they want because all you know how to do is tap for scope mounts
>tools
All your regular maintenance shit, drill press, machinist vice, rifle vice to get you started
>posting unrelated stupid pic
Enjoy your thread going to the last page with only one response

Go to a reputable school (Trinidad State Junior College). Receive a decent education taught by angry fudds and want to be artisanal wood carvers. Spend $35, 000 in tuition, fees, parts, tools, and your own project guns. Graduate and attend Brownells job fair for industry and niche market entrepreneurs looking to hire recent graduates. Offered Cabela's 10.50hr, Bass Pro $11.10hr, Wilson Combat (parts station fitting one piece) $12, STI (fitting one piece) $12, Turnbull (apprentice in bluing) $11.
Walk away from gunsmithing, fat old fudds, autistic muhoperators, and transmilsurpgenders to get a CDL and drive truck or operate heavy equipment.
Fuck gunsmithing and anyone around it.
Seriously, the fucks you meet in and around this could make you melt your guns and join the Brady Campaign.
Now that the dust has settled,
meme or design revolution?

A good gimmick
It's a gimmick because it's shit compared to projectiles that are far more effective and cheaper
It's good because what it's advertised to do, it does really well. You'll put a bunch of splinters into a guy but splinters do a lot less than a bullet
How much of a concern is lead on your clothes, shoes, body, etc after a trip to the range?
>>33183773
I'd imagine it would take pretty chronic and intense exposure for it to be a concern. Like if you were an employee at a high volume indoor range with sub par filtration. Doesn't hurt to wash your hands though
>>33183773
Pretty much 0 concern.
As an adult, it's pretty harmless in normal amounts.
When I shoot pellet guns or bare lead bullet 22lr, I definitely wash my hands off since it turns them black.
>not taking a shower at the range
Haha, scared of penis inspection day are we?
And you guys say Glocks are ugly.
>>33183746
It looks fine, want to see an actual issue?
How about the tissue-paper-thick metal supporting the FSP
nigga shut your bitch ass up

Czechs can't into aesthetics
Armslist is terrible. I can't find any used Russian weapons for a reason price.
Real question
Why would anyone want a fucked up SKS like that over an AKM or something?
Do I just want this because of the Army contract or is it as cool as it seems? or is it just a meme?
I need something carryable and I can only have one pistol right now.
>>33183124
It's the memes.
The gun is fine but it's just like any other polymer 9.
>>33183124
The PPQ is better, but kinda weird looking.
>>33183124
>Do I just want this because of the Army contract or is it as cool as it seems? or is it just a meme?
Yes you are a poser LARPer just like 90% of gun owners in murrica
Class project in British Literature(18) about the victorian era. Now I usually give no fucks about these projects except the teacher happened to give me the topic of victorian era weaponry. I believe that I should focus on odd weapons for the time (like the palm pistol). I would love it if you gave me some solid resources for research or just anything you would know. I know I should read up but it would be nice to really get into it and for this I would love a good ol helping of /k/ autists
Forms of combat are also good like pugilism

>do my homework for me! xD
fuck off forever.
I've been humoring the idea of building a Vintoriz. I'd prefer not to spend over 2k but have access to pretty much any machining tools you'd find in a power plant. Is it possible? I've never owned an AK and I'm not very fond of the dimensions at the moment, I'm thinking
>get 5.56 AK
>get an aksu foreground
>get 300 BO barrel blank
>use lathe to shape barrel to fit AK
>get ATF okay
>cut down barrel to 4-8 inches, crown and thread it
>possibly try to make an AR15 gas tube fit the barrel and receiver to thin out its profile
>get another ATF okay
>use an aluminum tube that extends over the barrel and fits flush with the foreground and use the rest of the length for baffles
>Either cut out my own wood stock or buy after market
>apply finish
Am I retarded or would this work? I realize it'll take a lot of work but I feel like there's other problems I'd run into.
I think it'd be cool to try it in 10mm with extra heavy long bullets that would never fit in a normal 10mm I'd handload at subsonic speeds but that'd be a lot more work in the action
>>33182917
What kind of machining tools does a power plant have?
Uh
No
>>33182917
Sounds like a terrifying frankengun
All's good luck getting the ammo
Could a PTRD-41 kill a BMP and Bradley?
>>33182851
It penetrates abrams, what do you expect
>>33182851
Yes, they "killed" BMPs in Ukraine.
>>33182863
The fuck it does.
>>33182851
Probable but unlikely
I am going to by my first revolver, calibre .357
What are your suggestions /k/?
I have experience in 9mm pistols, but I've never owned a revolver. I'll mostly just use it for practice at my local range, at 25m and 50m.
If doubles I will screenshot your suggestion and if I end up buying that model I will post a picture with your suggestion later.
>>33182818
If you just want something for the range or maybe to keep in your vehicle, I would reccoment the Ruger GP100 with a 4 inch barrel. It's durable, looks nice, feels awesome to shoot. If you want something for CC then the Ruger SP101 isn't a bad deal either.
>>33182818
Go get a Magnum Research .45-70 BFR
>>33182818
I second >>33183005 on the GP100 recommendation, amazing gun for shooting, glorious hand cannon aesthetics, and quite possibly the best grip on a revolver I've ever experienced.
Is this how you use a gun /k/?
>>33182807
I've just noticed that the original ME1 assault rifle has no sights.
>>33182946
It got an integrated camera linked to a HUD, it's fine.
Slavboos BLOWN THE FUCK OUT
>>33182805
awesome thread OP, really made me think.
>>33182805
Now take it to /pol/ and see how many butthurt Russians respond.
