So what's /k/'s opinion on relativistic weapons? Perhaps a bit 'out' (lol puns about space, so funny amirite?) there in terms of technology, but I think the conversation will be interesting.......
Whoo boy, I love finding dead threads.
>>33255816
People always talk about how they're such uber weapons, but I've never been clear on how they're supposed to move at near light speed without impacting anything between them and their target.
Seems easy enough to just fire a cloud of small objects at them, especially if they have a significant run-up period.
>>33256009
Well, something moving that fast would ignore most obstacles. It would require significant mass to actually stop.
Now in theory science, going long-distance in deep space could have the potential large enough mass to stop it. But at a certain point, it really won't stop without an object comparable to a planet.
And yes firing a cloud is a good idea for total annihilation. However for precise targeting.....

Get the red hawk. Much stronger
>>33254806
Second the redhawk. You could probably run a thermo nuclear load through it and still be fine.
Are we talking about animal defense here or are these guns for use against humans exclusively?
New Glock 19 coming in tomorrow. Should I do it?
>>33254644
Yes, it actually makes a noticeable difference. The trigger will not be lighter, but the smoothness difference is quite nice.
>>33254644
Glock triggers are plenty smooth already, just get a new trigger with a lighter pull.
>>33254664
I'm installing the 3.5# connector. So with that and the polish it should be smooth and light or am I being autistic?
I'm also installing tritium sights too.
I'm a rifle/ARfag new to handguns mostly.
/k/ related Spoopy innawoods thread/LARPing? Yes.
Only /k/ related, not /x/ or /pol/ shit. Want to follow the rules.

do these take glock mags?
>>33253854
yep, 9mm or 40 s&w
I've been considering buying one of these.
How do you like it so far?
How practical would a hidden blade/knife be? Shit looks very useful when you're about to get mugged and when the mugger gets close you can stab him in the neck.
>mallninja shit
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Pretty much the only thing this is useful for is stabbing yourself in the hand

Why the fuck is a regular AR upper ~$100 and a belt fed one is $2000+
Also I'm a CAD certified engineering student. How hard do you suppose it would be to mill a receiver?
Pic related
Because a regular upper is just a chunk of metal, and a belt fed upper includes the belt feed mechanism.
>>33252388
Beltfed uppers are more complex. Also less common, so I imagine cost per unit is higher since they aren't pumping them out everywhere.
On a related note, where do civilians even buy belted ammo. I've never seen it. Do you all buy the links and belt it yourself?
>>33252409
Any idea where I could find schematics?>>33252509
Yup. You link them and toss the ammo in.
Having shot the SCAR somewhat extensively, I am quite fond of it. I think its an excellent rifle and I want to buy my own. The $3.4k price tag is somewhat of putting, and I am just not sure if the premium is worth is over an AR-10.
Also, I've only shot military issue, but I would hope the civilian version is mostly the same.
Is the SCAR worth it?
I like mine. Got it for $2800.
>>33252029
Used?
Have you considered any optics?
>>33252054
No brand new. They used to be $2500. Price has been steadily going up. May get a Trijicon Acog in the future. For now irons are fine for 50-200 yards.
Is there a better rifle for home defense?
Yes.
only if it's chambered in .45-70 and loaded with bird shot
Why did the US Army choose the P320 as their new service pistol? What was their logic?
>>33251981
Because they're too poor for the Glock 19.
The Seals and us had the right idea, again.
>>33252007
>Because they're too poor for the Glock 19.
That wasn't even it. The Sig system costs more per unit than the Glock does.
The problem is that one of the main specifications was "modular", in which glock shit then bed and decided to completely ignore and hope for the best. And they still got second place. Why modular? Who knows. Glock, however, failed to meet the specifications, so they got rejected. Get over it, take your already cheap G19s, and enjoy life.
