Im thinking about taking a cross country trip, which ends in los Angeles. what would be the best thing for personal self defense?
I was thinking that i would keep an axe in the car and just claim its a tool but for personal protection im having a little trouble. any ideas?

bump
A gun, don't get caught. It isn't very hard to not get pulled over, and if you do, they shouldn't have a reason to search your car unless you smell like pot or act shady.
>>33261769
I'd research the laws rehearsing weapons transport , IIRC you can transport a firearm through states where it is not normally legal so long as it is legal in the final destination.
Except your going to California so RIP.
A LGS has a used Sako 85m in .270 Win for $1500. Im interested and am going to go look at it today. Anyone know anything about them?
I'm in Kommiefornia and I'd want to use it for hunting boar or deer.
>>33261679
Sako makes very nice rifles for sure. Seems a bit pricey if you just want a hunting rifle though as you could get an older Remington 700 (before they went to shit), Winchester model 70, or even a Ruger or Savage for 1/3-1/2 the price and use the money left over for some nice glass. If you have the money to burn though you won't be disappointed with the Sako.
>>33261679
Buy it and order M05 from Finland while turning into a Finnaboo.
>>33261730
I'm going to try to find out how "used" it actually is. $1500 is kinda steep but I like the .270 and if it isn't a beater then i'll probably go for it.
A while back, one of you claimed that suppressors were originally restricted around the depression era to prevent the poor from poaching. Gave me a source and everything.
Unfortunately, I lost it. And now I'm actually writing a paper on suppressors and I want to find it again.
Silencer: History and Performance vol. 1 might be what I'm looking for, but I can't get a copy for a while.
Can I get someone to hook me up? Pic completely unrelated.
Bump for interest. Anybody know where to source this?

I think these are the two most relevant pages in the book about that topic. but its still just an opinion so...If you want anything else outta here let me know!
Post your CC ammo choice. Pic related. I unironically use Tulammo. Why? You should carry what you practice with. I feel this is more important than muh ballistix.
>>33261250
>Shitty, underpowered, inconsistent, dirty ammo
Why do you even practice with Tula?
Don't feed your gun the equivalent of dollar-store chicken nuggets, anon.
>carry weapon

That's real retarded sir.

Clean your fucking rug; and if that's a lot of ammo for you maybe it's time to focus on your career.
OK so I'm planning on picking up a 17s, I love it I know it's a good weapon. My question is how can I improve it.
I know there are lots of aftermarket bits and pieces you can get for it, so how have you guys tweaked yours?

What the fuck is up with the slip of paper in the box that basically says "whoops, not enough fabric, we're still keeping what you paid for the boonie that you never got as store credit."
There better be a damn good explanation for this.
Anyone else get that bullshit in their box?
>buying shit from Mongolian sweater manufactures
why are you even supprissed?
>>33261195
because I ordered on the 2nd day of the pre-order. If I PRE-PAY for an item, I had better get it, that's how a fucking pre-order works.
"No it's cool, we have store credit for the """"""next run""""" "
Are there any sword fighting techniques that can defeat an opponent with a gun?
Practitioners of both eastern and western martial arts agree that cutting the gun in half is the way to go.
>>33260955
This desu, you should totally try it
>>33260905
Basically "surprise motherfucker" is your best hope. Ambush the fucker and dont let him shoot. Same tatics as any melee vs gun it will jist be a bit more effective than others is all. As far as facing off you are still tuller drill minus a foot or two and good luck concealing that shit. So if one splits hairs and goes out of their way to make it a possibly sure there are tactics sort of. If one is pragmatic not a chance in hell and get a gun

what are we laughing at anon?
All I know is I now want a Polish MP brassard
I know that the SKS is the go to innawoods rifle, but it's also very cheap, and that's some of the reason why it's the go to innawoods rifle.
So, /k/, if you had a budget of $2500, what rifle would you get for innawoods oper8ing? Must be available to civilians and also meet some of the things that make the SKS so good for this purpose.
>wood stock, rifle without pistol grip so you don't scare people, and looks like a hunting rifle
>semi automatic
>more than 5 rounds
>needs to have a big boy caliber
>must be available to civilians
>reliable, well built
My vote is for the M1A, which is the civilian version of the M14, costs about $1600. Would love to hear your opinions as well.
Bad day/k/are is bad
>>33260423
I prefer the fixed stock, but this. I've yet to find a better overall rifle.
>My vote is for the M1A
Too heavy IMO. I like full size rifles, but those extra pounds are a serious problem if you're actually lugging it around all day.
>inb4 do you even lift bro
>>33260458
The M1A is ~10 lbs w/ empty mag while the SKS is 8 lbs, but if you add all the trimmings I can see how being innawoods with that would be bad.
I see a lot of prep/SHTF threads on here and being someone that survived such a scenario gives me some added insight. I'm here for a few hours to answer ANY questions.
>As long as it doesn't interfere with my larping

where are you from and what was the situation
The ultimate conceal carry piece.
>>33260008
The Glock 3. Because that's all the shots I need.
That's basically a ZIP gun
>>33260008
What special grip technique should be used to keep it from leaving your hand and hammering you in the face every time you pull the trigger?
Prepare your body.

Looks interesting, wouldn't have guessed Vietnam had that much more to tell. At 18-hours, it's longer than either his Civil War or WW2 documentaries.
Liberal propaganda. No thanks!

i may watch some, but mostly this.
Hey /k/
My girlfriend got in troubles with her muslims neighbours over some stupid shit. They threatened to slash her tires and she almost got assaulted. I'm living in France for 2-3 month still before moving to Australia, what can she do to protect herself ?
She went to the police and they said they basically can't do anything until she has a proof and told her to install cameras.
Can she use pepper spray or anything for self defense ?
>self defence
>australia
no, nothing you can do, sorry bud.
>>33259948
In NSW, Section 7 of the Weapons Prohibition Act 1998 states that it is an offence to possess or use a prohibited weapon unless authorised with a permit. Permits authorise the use of a prohibited weapon for sporting, training or instructing purposes, or for educational, historical or commemorative-type purposes. Permits are usually not issued to people wanting to carry items for personal security or recreational purposes.
Unauthorised possession or use of pepper spray or mace is a serious offence. It can be prosecuted on indictment, which means you can face a jury trial in the district court. If you are charged on indictment, then the maximum penalty is up to 14 years in prison.
So in other words, no.
>>33259948
Legally? No, she's fucked on that part.
Of course, she could carry around a baseball bat with a catcher's mitt and a ball, and that'd at least make it look a bit less like she's preparing to defend herself (the illegal part)
