Whats up friends, I just wanted to know where I can buy an actual helmet, not like a replica obviously but one that actually serves its purpose.

the nearest hardware shop?

so i was on /v/ the other day shitposting in a newvegas thread when some guy started saying the legion was retarded for makeing their troops gather their own equipment and ban the use of modern medicine.
i was arguing it from a logistics standpoint looking at it as them not being able to produce firearms and ammo on a reliable large scale. this also stops them from needing a supply infrastructure dragging behind them 24/7 makeing the army more maneuverable and saving time and resources that can be more easily used to bring the fight to the enemy.
as far as the medicine this also becomes a logistics issue with them not having the necessary supplies to make and synthesize modern medicine or keep their army supplied in the field. it would be more practical to rely on herbal remedies and natural supplements.
what is your take on this /k/?

>no weapon upgrades or healing supplies
so that's why it was so easy to kill that faggots entire camp with nothing but stims and a lead pipe.
How much actual difference does the castle doctrine make? It seems to me that it's just a feelgood solution. I don't know of any case where the defendant was acquitted by virtue of the castle doctrine when he wouldn't have otherwise been acquitted.
>>34981958
That's because they wouldn't be prosecuted in the first place.
Is this the best AR in 2017?
(ak faggots need not apply)

It has its pros and cons. Best AR? Nah.
Can anyone tell me what the current standard-issue weapons are in the Marines? Last I heard the sidearm was pic related, but I also heard it might've been replaced. Can anyone tell me what the current rifle and sidearm is, or suitable alternatives, so that I can gain some hands-on experience before I enlist? I have moderate shooting experience with smaller calibers btw, and do know how to properly handle a firearm.
A thread died for something you could have googled.

His name is Benjamin Paul Harrell. His wife, Mary Kathleen Harrell, was a prison dentist in Pendleton, OR. She botched an operation so badly the prisoner had to go to the hospital. A man named Robert Eugene Mills tried to run her over with a truck, presumably in retaliation for her botched dentistry, but Benjamin Harrell shot him with an AR.
I know this isn't technically a question about armor, but are there any engineers here who have thought about designing a new combat helmet designed to disperse explosive or concussive forces?
I mean, Level 3A helmets can deflect bullets, but are they capable of absorbing explosive shock?
There's a huge amount of TBI, and I was wondering if it was possible to create such a helmet.
>>34981282
It's possible but have fun lugging around at least 20 lbs of bullshit on your head.
>>34981282
I was under the impression they were protective against concussive force before they got thick enough to be ballistic
>>34981282
It'd have to be something integrated with a body armour.
No point in having the head be protected if your body is ripped to shreds.

Nukes can't be magic'd away. But if they could, what would total war look like at home?
Mass internet and media censorship? Encouraged recycling "turn RAW material into WAR material". Gas and food rationing?
Would the government encourage War Bond purchases?
>>34980556
>Mass internet and media censorship?
Sure but probably not from the American media.
>Encouraged recycling "turn RAW material into WAR material".
Probably more than normal but I doubt many recycled materials would go to military production.
>Gas and food rationing?
There would undoubtedly be panics everywhere regardless of supply.
>Would the government encourage War Bond purchases?
The average citizens of pretty much all countries possess only a tiny percentage of their wealth these days. It's the fat cats that would get milked and that's why we're not going to see any world wars any time soon.
>>34980661
>Sure but probably not from the American media.
The American media are already, for all intents and purposes, state propaganda.
>>34980661
>I doubt many recycled materials would go to military production.
Household aluminium can be recycled and used in the production of aircraft grade aluminium
Low-grade steel and tin can be shunted towards weapons/ammo manufacture
Plastic chewed up and respun into synthetic winter clothing and medical items
Paper recycled into other paper objects
Organic waste compressed and decomposed to make biofuel for logistics trucks
Other misc waste converted to district heating
There's a reason why recyclers in Sweden buy garbage from Finland/Norway/Denmark, run it through the process and make big bucks from it.
I know that most m48s were unissued, but some did see action in the Yugoslav civil war. Is there any way to tell if one did? Mine is covered in dings and scratches and the blueing is fading on a good bit of the metal.
Help me out /k/unts
>>34980475
You would have to find some autistic Mauser forum where old Fudds identify the serial numbers and stuff. Chances are your Mauser just sat in a warehouse. A vast majority of all milsurp didn't see any action. Everyone thinks their gun is special for some reason. "No man, my Mosin was totes used by a sniper in Stalingrad!"
>>34980475
>I know that most m48s were unissued
This is a meme. In Branko Bogdanovich's "Serbian and Yugoslav Mauser Rifles" he specifically cites a 1954(IIRC) directive from the Yugoslav army command to phase out all the earlier re-built and pre-WW2 Mauser rifles (and put them in storage as war reserve) for the M48 to simplify logistics. M48s got used, and used a lot, it's just that many got refurbished once they were done being used.
As for being used in the Balkan Wars of the 1990s, there is at least some photographic evidence.
>>34980871
So my beat to shit one with a dinged up and scratched stock with missing blueing might not be refurbished?
