Just found out what my job will be in the Air Force. I'm going to be a Cryptologic Language Analyst. Any advice for DLI or anything air force related in general? I'm just trying to get a good idea of what to expect. Thanks in advance.
>>33413589
basically you will be looking at words that aliens and big foot and other crypt-ids write and you will have to decipher what they said
Did you do the DLAB at Meps? I was originally trying to get that job, but wanted to be an airborne linguist and my eyesight disqualified me. Wound up being avionics on bombers. Did they tell you what language you'll be learning? My understanding is that you'll spend over a year in tech school learning your language down in southern California. I worked with a few people who washed out of that program, they said it's tough.

Drop a burner email and ill give you what i learned.
Reverse package artwork? Okay!

Because look at that thing
I just bought this SKS at a local gun show this past weekend and I've been trying to figure out what type it is and I haven't had any luck. Can anyone here help me out? posting pics of marks on my rifle.
>>33413125
Why don't you just do the most basic of research? It's gonna be a lot faster than waiting on us.
Here is a pic of the markings on the rifle.
>>33413125
Norinco Commercial SKS I'm assuming. Spike bayos are usually Norinco.
How many rounds should I clean my 1911? I fired 50 rounds.
>>33413086
50? Is it new because if it is you're going to want to fire about 450 more with that kimber.
>>33413086
Wouldn't worry until around 250-300 honestly. Most 1911s do well to be just used no cleaning for the first 300 rounds or so. They build them tight, you loosen em up.
>>33413086
if you dont intend on shooting it again in the next month or so, clean it. If you're shooting it regularly, as in within every 2 weeks, you dont have to clean it until you hit a couple hundred rounds.

What's /k/'s opinion of the G2 Civic Duty?
>>33412344
none.
>>33412344
Kind of dumb, at least with a .380acp. Personally, I'd want an FMJ for maximum penetration over extra expansion.
>>33412344
Dumb overpriced gimmick designed to sell to total suckers.
What does k think of them
Tacticool trash that is as useful as milsurp clothes but 100 dollars more.
>>33412238
I don't.
>>33412238
They're very "eh"/10.
They make some decent bags and packs, and their pants are above airshit tier but definitely below Gucci tier. It's the company culture that most find cringy. Shit like their tactical kilt and the fact that their relatively decent plate carrier is going to be forever refered to as "the crossfit games vest".
What's k's opinion of Magpul's pants? I'm concerned they rely on brand recognition and provide a shit product. has anyone here ever purchased anything from their clothing line?
>>33411936
>buying clothes from a company known for making gun parts
>>33411957
That's why i'm asking. It feels like buying sushi at a gas station.
>>33411936
Seamster here (Tailor for the rest of you). You're better off buying pants that you yourself like, then having some one add wider belt loops on. Hell, you yourself can easily do that with very lil practice.
TOOLS, what tools should a prepper have? This should include all general tools as well as any to maintain weapons as well.
Also general ask questions get answers kinda thing.

I live with my Dad, I use to live elsewhere but I'm back because while I'm studying its just way cheaper. He can take care of himself, but there are certain things he needs help with from time to time. He has a bad leg and can't get around to fast anymore, is diabetic, and just really isn't good health at all. With no plans to improve. I've tried my whole life to get him to but he's set in his ways.
Wheres this going you're wondering?
I always think about what I'd do in a SHTF situation. If I had to bug-out, I'd have to do it by bicycle or by foot. I live in a fairly dense city in Southern Ontario (near Toronto) and the roads would be packed. My dad unfortunately has to rely on his vehicle to get him from a -> b .. I feel bad saying this but if anything ever happened I'd have to leave my poor dad behind :( anyone else in similar situations with elderly relatives or anything? How do you prep for that?
>>33411755
I've actually spoken about a topic similar to this in the PDF that I'm writing. If one of your buddies gets hit and goes down do you waste medical supplies trying to save him even though you know that even if you got him back to your camp there's nothing you could do to save him.
Honestly the best thing you can do is care for them as long as you can have as much equipment and supplies on hand so that they will not have to do too much, but you have to remember that the time will likely come that you can't save them. That's the sad reality of it, you can't save everyone that you would like to. While they are around they can be useful if they have skills, a lot of the older generations know handy tasks like stitching and other small tasks that may benefit you. When the time comes that you can't save them, well just keep them in your mind, that's all you can do.
The thing with prepping, is its a never ending cycle. I mean having tools is a great idea. Everyone should. But tools is a perfect example of this, I mean where do you draw the line? For example I like working on motorcycles, I could do the same stuff with 10 tools in garage, but I have like 100, and Ill probably keep getting more.
I know theres kind of no way to over prep, but I try to stay very minimal to prevent that. I see a lot of preppers who just buy shit left and right, have 10 BoB's and 1000 shitty lights. Its like why not just have one or two REALLY good lights? Why 1000 shitty ones?

ITT: We post our open carry experiences in FL
Do you practice this method? Have you had any run in's with the law?
I was a little nervous the first time but I'm slowly feeling that I really shouldn't because the law wouldn't be law if I shouldn't be able to exercise it.

Not legal for handguns except while doing shit like you're doing in your post (hunting, fishing, hiking, etc), OP.
I carry either my 10mm or my 10" AR whenever I go hiking, Central Florida here. Never had an issue with rangers or anyone I came across on trails giving a shit. People in the woods tend to be nicer than people in town.
>>33411611
If they're open carrying in fl, I'm sure they'd know that law.
