It's a good vermin killing round.
Hey /k/ I'll be turning 21 in two days and I'm looking to buy my first gun.
I went shooting for the first time with my friends a couple days ago and shot a lot of different things. I definitely want a handgun and my first choice was pic related but my friends said 10mm was too much for a first gun.
Now I'm leaning more towards the Hi Power. Aesthetics come first, and maybe I'll carry it. Budget is $1000. What should I get?
>>33424005
Delta Elite aesthetics are unsurpassed imo.
>>33424005
Buy what you like and make your noodle-wristed friends jealous.
>>33424005
just shoot low power target loads through it like everyone else with a magnum gat at the range, save your wrist and wallet
Why does Hollywood insist on having every character spin in a fight?
Has spinning ever been a successful in a streetfight, actual combat, gun fight, competition fight, etc? What utility is there to spinning like a top when it completely ruins your ability to focus on a given target, whether that be with your gun or your fist? Seems like a great way to get punched or shot in the back of your head.
>>33423980
Because spinning is a good trick
>>33423980
i have successfully dodged a punch by spinning when the guy threw his weight at me
It looks cool.
I'm thinking of getting one of these 7.62x51 Spanish mausers for my birthday with any cash I may get. What parts are interchangeable with the 7x57 version? Is the bolt interchangeable?
>>33423657
Apparently these have a particularly bad rust problem. Would avoid.
>>33423657
Don't get it. Spain tried doing the rechamber thing with their Mausers like Israel and they failed spectacularly.
>>33423657
>What parts are interchangeable with the 7x57 version? Is the bolt interchangeable?
Everything but the barrel.
>>33424111
These are the rifles that were generally in too poor a condition for SAMCO to make a buck off them, but sometimes you find a gem. The beauty of SAMCO was that they were lazy at inventory, so not all the good ones were dug out of the crap.
>>33424131
Which is why they did it 100,000 times, right?
Future or bust?

What
>be anon
>buy golf ball launcher for Mosin
>turn Mosin into obrez, install launcher
>load ball
>chamber an FMJ instead of a blank
>Obrez become bolt action blunderbus
>>33423550
since that secures around the front sight it would be impossible to attach to a true obrez.
Think before you waste a perfectly good thread, shit head
>>33423616
Welders exist anon
Op it would be better to load a blank and get one of those small paper cups and use it as a shot cup and load it lime a regular blunderbus

Trying to decide on a flashlight for my shotgun, pretty sure I have it narrowed down to these two, help me out /k/.
Opinions on either?
Any other contenders at the same size/price that I haven't considered?
Also considered getting a TLR-1 HL, but can't really justify doubling the price for the more compact package when the only difference is 1oz considering there is room past my handguard for up to like 5.9" worth of flashlight.
Bump
>>33423302
I have a protac rm and its great but the pressure switch has a weird habit of draining the batteries for no reason, might just be retarded
If I had to get another I'd get a surefire
I'd recommend the surefire, I've used their handhelds and pistols for a while now, and cannot say anything negative about them (other than price.) Streamlight makes nice lights, but you really don't need that much throw, and it might be a hassle switching through the different levels of lumens. 400 lumens is more than enough.
Imagine you're in a survival situation, you don't have soap or any other thing to wash your hands with, but you have a natural water source.
I always am concerned about lead poisoning after firing guns yadda yadda.
Anyone know if water is enough to wash your hands after handling cartridges like .22 LR?
>>33423273
I just rinse my hands off with water every time. Never use soap or anything
Dude unless you are taking the lead right out of the cartridges and eating them daily you are fine
>>33423273
The CDC mandates that all government officials wash their hands within 48 hours of handling lead-based ammunition. After that, nothing can be done, and permanent brain damage sets in.
They've done numerous studies on this.
Name a more effective means of attaining & sustaining air superiorty.

F-86 Sabres?
Where do I buy one of these for cheap? Looking to stay under 600-700 dollars, all the sites I've seen so far list them at around 1k.
Timetravel to 2014 and go to PSA's site.

j&g sales has a couple around that price and i believe atlantic firearms has one or two that can be had for about as much.
Hey /k I bought a knife off my coworker for like 10 bucks a while back. I know it's most likely a reproduction but what kind of knife would this be called?

Any ideas on how I can get these fucking screws out without destroying my RMR? The moron who installed it stripped them out while doing so. I tried drilling them out and using a back out tool but it stripped immediately.
>>33422818
Ouch, that is painful to look at, hopefully he didn't use red loctite on them.
>>33422831
You're telling me. He said he used blue, which isn't helping things any.
cut slots in them carefully and use a screwdriver or superglue a allen wrench
