Yea.

Any idea on how much it's worth?
Were Battlecruisers a doctrinal mistake?
It seems like they become obsolete the moment an opponent also has battlecruisers, since BC's aren't protected against their own guns. And they are too expensive to build and operate have enough for cruiser things, which relegates them into the very narrow role of fleet scout.
Maybe there's something I'm missing for the High Seas Fleet and Royal Navy were so enamored with the concept
>Were Battlecruisers a doctrinal mistake?
Not in the role they were intended for. They were successful in hunting down German cruisers in the Pacific and Atlantic. Such as at the battle of the Falkland Islands.
But since they had 12" guns the Admiralty would saw them as capital ships and used them in the battle line.

>But since they had 12" guns the Admiralty would saw them as capital ships and used them in the battle line.
When was this? Other than when Scheer sent the battlecruisers into the teeth of the Grand Fleet so he could get could turn his battle line away, which strikes me more as a move of desperation and improvisation than doctrine per se
Final bump
I was looking into buying a rifle for long range shooting and was wondering what /k/'s thoughts were on the Ruger Precision Rifle.
Also, which caliber would /k/ recommend? It is available in 308 Win., 6 mm Creedmoor, and 6.5 Creedmoor. I am looking to use it at a 300 meter range primarily, but would like to be able to shoot much farther on occasion, if can find a longer range to shoot at.
Any suggestions for a good Bipod to use with it, and what is the best way to attach it? Same question for a monopod for back by the butt.
>>33407277
They're popular among beginners.
I would say go with .308 for price alone - it will be more than adequate for your planned distances. You can always invest in a 6.5 Creedmoor rifle once you know you want to get serious about the sport.
>>33407277
I'm planning to pick one up in 308 and top it with a Vortex Viper HS-T 6-24 and use it for a local 600 yard match. If anyone has one of these in .308, I'd love to hear any experiences as well.
>>33407277
honestly for the cost and range you might wanna look at other calibers. I mean you can use .308 if you want but -shrug- there are cheaper and more cost effective ways to shoot that range and actually learn a bit more about ballistics.

NR semi-auto rifles that can use magazines that hold more than 5 rounds? Which is the best to buy?
>>33402737
Does it have to be a rifle round? Because there are quite a few pistol caliber carbines out there that use pistol mags.
Didn't see one in the catalog, so here.

How would you defend against a carjacking?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fpGAGrwv9ZI
Obviously if the jacker runs in front of your car first you can just hit the gas and run them over, but what if they run up from behind on the blindspot? Drawing and firing from this position would be extremely difficult especially since you wouldn't know their full intentions until they got really close to the car, and if another car was in front of you they would have far more mobility than you. If they had a gun they could shoot into your car from behind while you would have a hell of a time shooting back, especially if there were multiple jackers. Getting out of the car would get you killed too because they would also have the advantage of seeing you open your door first.
>>33359128
Get out.
They get in.
Draw CCW and mag dump.
Get my car back.
>>33359128
Depends on the scenario, if they're drawn on me coming to the window then just give them the car
If not/non gun weapon then I'm shooting the fuck out of them

>16 inches (41 cm) of belt armor, inclined 20 degrees
>8 inches (20 cm) of deck armor with additional armor over critical areas
>26 inches (65 cm) of frontal armor on main gun turrets
>1,147 watertight compartments
>Displaced over 70,000 t.
How did they ever kill this thing? It seems completely invincible.

/k/ talk me out of getting 2 40 round akm magazines and sellotaping them together
I'll tig weld them if your close
>>33435763
if you are going to do it dont do it the cunt way where you flip the mags.
what you want is both mags facing up and staggered, you get a fucking piece of cardboard or ammo box fold it a fewtimes and use it as a a spacer. you stagger them so it wont hit the charging handle or dust cover
>>33435763
Do what you want dude.
I personally wouldent. It would make them bulky and hard to carry in pouches, make your weapon a little heavier, if you are laying down to shoot you will have a fuck off magazine that will act as a monopod, only it will collect all the dust and shit from the ground.
I'm not the boss of you, but if thats what floats your boat knock yourself out brah

Gee, I don't know anon, maybe because it gets the job done in an efficient manner, is highly modular, and slings lead in the general direction you need it to go
Economies of scale. Mass production makes [thing] cheaper (US adoption), which makes [thing] an even better option due to low cost (widespread NATO adoption) which makes [thing] even cheaper (potato nigger adoption).
