Best do-all, zero-maintenance, throw-behind-the-seat-and-forget, glad-its-there-when-you-need-it, worry-free gun.
Requirements:
1. Must be a longarm.
2. Must be able to kill things up to 200lbs between 0 and 150 yards.
3. Must have no fucks to give if it's lost/stolen/forgotten.
4. Must require minimal to no maintenance.
Right now, I think it's the SKS. I picked one up for a song last year, a Chinese model with tech sights, no bayonet, no cleaning kit or rod, but also no rust, a great bore and crown and just beat up enough that I don't really care if it gets beat up more.
I figure that, well-oiled and put in a gun sock with a few silica gel packs, and three or four stripper clips, and it will meet all criteria and I don't have to think about it for a year or so.
What's your thoughts /k/? This is what I'm keeping in my tow truck.

Keep in mind I am a white cis male, ~150 pounds and 20 years old. Looking for either 5.56/7.76 preferably but I am open minded to other options. Brother says I should get the reliable AK47, father says I should get the new SIG MCX, mother says I shouldn't get anything (typical). Please help!

It's never been cheaper to buy an AR. AKs vary wildly in quality, and a good one will cost over $1k while a great AR can be had for $500 or less. You can buy an AR and spend another $500 on ammo and mags and other accessories and still spend less than a decent AK with 1 mag and no ammo.

/k/, why is this gun so underrated as a newbie carry pistol? It's a 1-to-1 Colt 1911 built by Walther. Although it is chambered in .22lr as opposed to .45 ACP, it can shoot stingers just fine, making it suitable for EDC, comes with a threaded barrel for easy suppression, and has the incredible trigger of the 1911 as well as its durability and all of its other features. Further still, it is compatible with most 1911 aftermarket parts. Seeing as most 1911s sell excess of 1 grand, the asking price of only 300-350 for this German-made Colt, to me, seems like absolute lunacy. Why doesn't this gun show up more often in poorfag threads is totally beyond me. Help me understand why, /k/, and please do so without bitching about the .22lr as a caliber as if you were allergic to it, because that is not going to change my opinion about this pistol, which seems to be extremely good for its price point and caliber.

I removed the bullet and drilled a hole into some 7.62x54r cartridges for a necklace I made for a friend, I used a vice for the bullets and then I put them back in the cartridges sans the powder. The primers are still active though. What would happen if I loaded and shot a round in the mosin on a cartridge that still had an active primer and bullet but no powder?

It would have very low recoil, but the primer would be enough to push the bullet through the barrel.
If it doesn't make it through, you can just load a full powered round behind it and it'll push the bullet from the primer-only round out.

US forces and Gulab visited the location multiple times and no signs of a firefight existed. Gulab stated they heard gunfire, but it was very brief, an indication of the team being ambushed and killed right away. There were no enemy bodies recovered. Also, footage taken by the Taliban show the bodies of two of the SEALs. They are close to each other, with no signs of them being moved. They both have all of their magazines on their kits, and both of their dust covers on their rifles are closed, a clear indication they never got a shot off.

Talked to my navy recruiter and took the EST. I got a 90, and I got a 93 on the ASVAB when i took it 2 years ago. I'm told I may qualify for the Nuclear program, but I'm interested in maintenance and repair. My question is how much math/science bullshit is Nuke school? How much of it is actual hands on technical work/blueprints/diagrams etc. How tough is it for someone with a mediocre attention span and a distaste for math?
