Its an american made clone, it got some updates last year seen good reviews for it. Just the factory 10-12lb trigger is shit. A Bill Springfield trigger job will set it to 4.75lbs for 69 buckarooos.

Hey /k/ I was wondering what a good beginners rifle would be? I'm thinking about getting a Mosin, Karabiner, or an SKS. Pretty much looking for a good price ($1000 budget), easy maintenance, good for home protection and sport.
If you have any other suggestions, please list them.

If it was pistol it would be an AOW.
It fits in the nifty little spot of undefined firearm.
Not a shotgun since it has no stock so doesn't need the 16" barrel. Still a non pistol firearm so it has to be over 26" OAL.

I think most real gunsmiths can put together a tube gun. The guy at your local rod and gun store that mounts scopes and assembles ARs isnt a gunsmith.
