Cotton picker.
I am very new to guns but I want to learn about guns and get into guns
I have never even touched a real gun in real life
Tell me some cool things you think I should know
>inb4 read the sticky and the wiki
I did but I just want to hear cool facts about guns you feel like sharing
>>33874618
hope your into mechanical, newtonian, and engineering principals.
>>33874618
My favorite tidbit is about shotguns. They're the best for home defense because you don't have to aim them. You can just hip shoot and hit intruders.
>>33874618
What do you people think of LMT products, specifically their one piece AR upper receiver?
>>33874431
>>33874443
what?
>>33874431
According to Chris Bartocci, they make some of the best BCGs in the industry, even better than KAC's
Most of /k/ is too poor to afford them though
Does the US military use self propelled artillery in any capacity? I'm not sure why but I always found the idea of a vehicle driving around with a big gun that can shoot miles away kinda neat.
I did a bit of googling and it seems like we mostly just use the leftover paladins, although I don't think they see much use overall. The crusader was supposed to replace it but the project got cancelled.

I know about them. I was just curious if they still get any use out of them or if they're all just kinda sitting in a parking lot somewhere
What kind of 7.62x39 round does /k/ like? I am looking to buy some bulk ammo online and have only tried tulammo. Do these rounds have a negligible difference unless I pay a dollar a shot?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8TGtkwZPNks&t=2s
tulas the worst new production ammo, if your gun eats tula congrats it can eat anything. theres a decent step up in consistency with anything else.
>>33874398
As far as what functions, my Polish kit eats everything short of literal fecal matter.
However accuracy wise I've yet to get anything but RAS to turn anything more than MOA of say, 1' or worse.
But that's just shitty manufacture and not having a zeroing tool.
>>33874430
That's good to know. I was thinking about ordering 500 rounds of brown bear from sportsman's guide. And the tulammo was being shot out of my yugo sks. I did have maybe 3 failures to fire out of 300 rounds and 2 of them were because the bolt wasn't going all the way forward (fixed now not the ammo's fault).
Just realized that this type of Russian helicopters has 3 pylons on each wing. Are Russians so inept at making accurate munitions that they have to go for quantity instead of quality? Also what is up with that radar dish? Looks ineffective. Should they just buy China instead? I heard the new Chinese helicopter is at the Apache level of impressiveness.
>>33874382
Impressive-kun pls go
>>33874382
It has two rotors also
Are they that bad at flying?
And do I spy two (2) wheels? Who are these guys kidding
I'm all for making fun of Russians, but at least make fun of something that is actually embarrassing.
>parade break downs
>poor w:l rate for fighters
>s-ducts
Get it together anon.
Hey /k/, what's the best "cheap" pistol I can buy used or new, for carrying while traveling a very long distance on foot (don't ask).
It has to be lightweight, cheap, and reliable.
So far I'm leaning towards a Taurus 709, but I really want to find a used NAA 4" Sidewinder.
>>33874303
glock
>>33874311
By "cheap" I mean less than $250.
>>33874403
hipoint then
Hey there /k/ I'm fairly new to the 4Chan and Guns as well and I'm here to ask, what's the best gun to get started with? I'm looking for self-defense here as well. So nothing too crazy like an Assault Rifle. But something that's cheap, easy to use and maintain, and an overall good gun.
Recommendations?
Pic somewhat relevant, it's the first gun I've shot but I'm not too sure if it's the best.
Is this bait
>>33874302
Well, first off, how did you like it?
Would you change anything about it?
The recoil, the sights?
Slightly different grip angle?
Manual of arms?
What's your price range?
Oh well, the gun itself feels nice but it's not actually mine ya see. It was my dads so it's not technically mine. And price range I'm looking at...maybe 200 to 600. Not too expensive.
Thanks for responding!
Holy shit, just realized the offical /out/ map perfectly applies to /k/ as well
>>33874259
Are you retarded?
>>33874259
Haha what?
Wanna know how I know /out/ has never been to western Nebraska?
Also, South Dakota is fucking awesome for /out/ stuff. The Black Hills are amazing, and the western part of the state is full of cool stuff like Mt. Rushmore and the Crazy Horse memorial.
I want a small 380 carry gun for the summer. Talk me out of buying a g42 tomorrow
>>33874213
buy a polish p64.
>>33874213
okay, buy a LCP II. I love it and it's comfy to pocket carry.
>>33874279
How do you find the recoil?
Regarding legal issues in the United States:
Is carrying a gun within a gun case considered open carry, concealed carry, or neither?
Does it matter if the case is locked, or if the gun is loaded?
What about carrying a gun in a backpack?
If I am in a state that requires a permit for both concealed carry and open carry, and I do not have a permit, can I still carry a gun within a case or pack?
bump>>33874161
In texas having a gun in a case even if its a case that say "glock" is considered concealed, doesnt matter if locked or loaded, same with in backpack. Depends on teh state but no u cant carry it unless ur bringing it to ur car or something like that
>>33874409
>Depends on teh state but no u cant carry it unless ur bringing it to ur car or something like that
What if I live in a city apartment and my car is parked on a street several blocks away due to difficulty finding parking? Can I then carry a gun in a case without a permit between my car and home, in a state where permits are required?
is he saying what i think hes saying? is this some sort of retarded atf setup?
like, what?
>>33874160
Literally what the fuck. Either this guy is a complete and utter retard, or the ATF are throwing the fishing pole right into the pond.
>>33874160
call and fuck with him. set it up and every thing. Don't show up. par for the course on arms list.

Dear /k/,
I am looking for a good set of electronic earmuffs, the bigger the NRR the better.
I also work in a machine shop and I would like them to do double duty and be able to wear them all day there.
What is a good comfy set to pick up? Performance and comfort trump cost.
And not a single fuck was given on this day
>>33874088
Peltor tactical 500
>>33874088
I have a similar set, its cool to crank the assist up high you can hear a bit further in a quiet area.
I use them in a enclosed shooting area and still use foam plugs under and I feel no ill hearing effects after shooting loud shit like mosins and magnum slugs and can still hear when someone wants to go downrange.
Redpill me on this bad boy.
