manpads have been around since the late 60s. its always been a consideration for all aircraft. flying NOE and avoiding LOS is the best defense. most AA are unable to engage if too close and that is another tactic.

thanks for eliminating my confusion. They were phasing out the BDU for the ACU with that shitty UCP pattern back when I was in (about 10 years ago).

Anyway, I like it. ACU was comfy and I liked the slanted pockets and whatnot, but UCP was unbearable.
