I'm sorry for the stupid fucking question, but hopefully someone can answer here: Is the H&K Mark 23 handgun legal for any of the IPSC or similar competitions? I read it wasn't approved for production class. I know it's a fucking brick but I'd still like to know if it can legally be entered in any of those competitions. Thank you.
>>34103352
Unless I'm reading it wrong, it should be legal in the open division, right?
>>34103352
Why isn't it approved for production class? Its a mass produced handgun.
>>34103464
so is the Glock 17L. Guess why they made the G34.

I bought a nice lee enfield no1 Mk3 at a gun show yesterday and I wanna buy ammo for it. It needs .303 british but some of the ammo has wild prices
https://www.sportsmansguide.com/productlist/ammo-shooting/rifle-ammo/303-british-ammo?d=121&c=96&s=917
Theres some ammo from Wolf WPA that is selling 20 rounds for 9 dollars as you can see or another brand PPU at 17 dollars for 20 rounds. How do I know what ammo is good?
picture not really related
You buy it and shoot it you fucking mongoloid.
>>34103215
is it truly that simple?
.303 is generously tapered, which is nice if you're going to shoot cheap steelcase like Tula, it'll extract reliably enough.
Otherwise, it really doesn't hurt to handload if you're gonna shoot an obsolete old cartridge like this.
Hey guys. I've been carrying a pistol for years now, but now I've got a better job and moved out to a more rural area and think it's about time I took the riflepill. I've shot my brother's .22 any number of times, and want something bigger and more interesting, preferably a gun that is fun for target shooting but can also kill large wild animals, humans, and monsters.
What do you recommend?
A battle rifle in .308.
I'd start with a basic AR15 and go from there.
>>34103178
God no, fuck off with that autism rifle.
>it's only $500!

I was working with a friend doing worldbuilding for a fantasy game. I was trying to determine how each nation/faction's armies would have evolved due to their factors like their terrain.
So my question is: if you had a decent sized nation whose territory was made primarily of wetlands (combination of swamps, marshes, and bogs), what characteristics might develop for an army/militia? I figured this nation would be more of a confederacy so it's fairly decentralized, though I'd be interested how a very organized centralized nation would do as well.
It's a typical fantasy setting, so that are a lot of anachronisms. The time period includes elements mostly from the medieval era, but also from antiquity up to 15th century.
All I have so far is that they would rely on infantry- probably light infantry. But I don't know about weapons and equipment specifically. I figure missile troops would mostly be archers who are familiar with archery through hunting. Can you help me /k/?
>>34102910
Peat from bogs is a pretty effective fuel, similar to coal. If this nation has some non-swampy land to build cities, they could end up becoming an early industrial power.
>>34103005
That had not occurred to me. I suppose there would be at least some areas with suitable land.
>>34102910
>if you had a decent sized nation whose territory was made primarily of wetlands
Sounds like a larger Netherlands.
If wanted to mount a bayo on an AR, what combination of barrel and gas system would I need?
>>34102805
20 rifle, 16 middy, 14.5 carbine.
>>34102825
Yup
>>34103261
holy fuck, the A2 barrel really is as retarded as I heard...
Scary way to go, rite?

Didn't happen. My suggestion is that you stop reading Russian propaganda.

Hi /k/. I've never bought a gun before and I know almost nothing about guns. I'm looking to buy a shotgun, any suggestions for a first timer? Budget is between $100-200, nothing too fancy.
Pic related, it's an H&R Pardner Pump Action shotgun. I've been thinking about this one.
>>34102169
Go to pawn shop and buy a moss 500 or old browning or remington.
>>34102181
Maverick 88 is another solid choice
>>34102169
If you are planning on buying new, then the Pardner is a good choice alongside the Maverick 88. If you are willing to put a bit more love into an older used gun then do what >>34102181 said.

Is rebluing a pistol at home hard? Pic related, have a surplus one and want to give it a shot.
if its just to stop it from rusting its easy. if its to look nice its hard and you will probably fuck it up a few times. try on scrap metal first. if you dont have the proper items and are going to wing it just go pay someone.
>>34102037
I doubt if that finish is blued. Its probably black nitrite or some such. To blue a gun you need to chemically remove the finish, then buff.
TLDR don't bother with hot blue. I used to know Bob Chow, the master bluer. Though he did catch his mission st. gun shop second story on fire once.
>>34102037
Hot bluing is very difficult to do.
As >>34102223 says, it looks like Parkerizing- which is doable if you're able to follow instructions, fastidiously clean and some basic knowledge of chemistry.
Hey /k/ new gun owner here. Recently bought a centry arms RAS47 and was looking for something smaller for self defence. Saw this pretty little israeli Jericho 941 online and was hoping to find one with the below specifications
>chaimbered .45acp
>stainless steel finish (carbon steel is fine but im hoping for that chrome lool)
>wooden smooth grip
Now i know nothing about this weapon and was hoping y'all could help me out. I know Israel is famous for their gun manufacturers and was wondering about the preformance, cost of sale and upkeep, and general stats about the weapon.
And just to keep the ball rollin lets make this an Israeli weapon thread
Also pic related
>>34101877
Protip: Get rid of the RAS47 as soon as you can. They are garbage made with sub-par components and walking headspace. Literally a ticking time bomb. Buy a quality AK like a WASR instead.
As for the Jericho, they're just basically just CZ's but prettier and more Jewish. Get one if you like them, but as with nearly all handguns, try to get a chance to shoot or at the very least handle/dry fire one before you buy.
