Gonna drop $1,200 on my first and only gun, a Sig Sauer P226 Elite stainless in 9mm
Tell me why I'm stupid and why I should buy a different firearm. Hard mode: it has to be a $1000+ pistol
>>34111780
9mm sucks.
Double action automatic pistols suck.
A Colt Series 70 with a trigger job will cost about $1000, and will shoot much better.
>>34111803
Why does double action suck? Genuinely curious
>>34111803
Preference doesn't mean something sucks.
OP its a good gun, I hope you have handled it and used the trigger.
Why is this your only gun?
Does anyone know what gun this is? I found it in my great great grandpa's safe that I recently inherited.
You literally had to Google what gun it is to get that photo.

UGH
I am so UPSET over the bakelite situation.
Every gun should have a 2 pound trigger or lighter.
>but it's not safe
This is bullshit. I've traveled and hunted with a 2 pound trigger and never had a problem. I can slam the stock of my gun on the ground with all my might, and it still won't discharge.
>but you'll go to jail if you shoot someone with it
Wrong. There's not a single law on any of the books in any state that says it's illegal to have a light trigger, nor has any court ever ruled that a light trigger invalidated a claim of self-defense.
>but you just need to practice more
No, I use tools to make my job easier, not harder. You wouldn't wear running shoes with lead weights in them, so why carry a gun with a heavy trigger?
Okay.
>>34111258
A thread died for this.
what if I like heavy triggers?
Discuss rifles, optics, calibers, and hand loading for precision shooting.
I'm currently teetering between a Remington 700 Police and the Savage 10 BA Stealth (both in 308). I got to hold the savage a while back and liked it, but I haven't shot one. I did shoot the 700 Police, however, and put 5 shots almost touching on a 1" orange paster at 200 yards. It's gonna be a while till I buy a new rifle, so what else should I be looking at in the sub $1200 range?
The loads I grouped with were Hornady 168gn match BTJHP's in 2013 Lake City brass backed by 42 grains of IMR 4064 and a CCI No. 200 Large Rifle primer.

How do I get better at zeroing shit? I'm awful with magnified optics.
>>34112820
first thing is to make sure your action (rifle:stock), base, rings, and scope screws are all properly torqued (typically 45,18,13,13 inlbs). Get one of those hex torque wrenches, once you've gone out to the range/field and you realize your shit isn't properly torqued, you'll wish you had one. Put a target at 25 yds, pull the bolt, and look through the scope and the barrel at the center of the target and line them up by adjusting the scope. Take a shot and adjust so it's on target, rinse, lather, repeat. Put the target at 100yds and you're probably going to be 3-4" high, so adjust again. You're aiming the crosshair at the center of the target and adjusting the bullet impact by moving the turrets (up/down, left/right), you're not moving the crosshairs (that's actually bullshit, but it's how the turrets are marked).
I dunno if that's how you should do it, but it's how I've learned to do it.
>Germany focused too much on more powerful but less numerous tanks, they should've produced larger numbers of weaker tanks
>Germany suffered from a shortage of qualified tank crews
So which is it?
>>34111047
Those are not mutually exclusive qualities, faggot.
>See: USSR, 1941
>>34111047
You can still put a so-called 'unqualified' crew in a tank and have them do something.
You can't put that same crew in a tank that doesn't exist.
How do you think the Soviets gained an armor advantage? It's because they had a shitload of T-34s. Do you honestly think that those were all super qualified heat seeking laser guided bionic crew members that had 2,000 hours of training downloaded to their memory banks? They weren't. They were what I imagine you would call 'unqualified'.

>this city succumbs to a zombie outbreak
>however, since zombies are a pretty shit-tier threat, Moscow's response is to send in one guy, give him his orders, and tell him to have fun with the city full of zombies and guns
>he does

I haven't heard about this game, is it something you're making?
>a city with nukes
>send in one guy not a team
ehh.
>>34111442
Where did OP say nukes.
Besides its not like any of the premise is realistic.
But to answer you question OP.
No, it doesn't sound very fun, it would get old fast, thing of all the ubi open world games.
For a game with no story or progression you are going to have to make sure gameplay systems interact in meaningful ways.
Such as calling in reinforcements who can do their own thing (rather than just following or sitting in one spot).
Maybe having a the number of zombies in an area be different based of noise etc.
You understand what I mean?
So so the Austrian army wont get the new Stm556 instead they will get the AUG A3.
Another country that wont adopt an ar15 platform for the next decades.
Thougts on the decision?
For Austrian conscripts, its not a bad rifle and the Austrian Bundesheer doesn't have to change their training much. It's pretty unlikely that those rifles will need to be used in combat any time soon anyhow.
Source?
Also;
>*Another* country that won't adopt an AR15 platform for the next decades.
What are the other supposed countries?

What is so wrong with my technique or why is my head shaped to make it impossible for me to shoulder a rifle while wearing earmuffs? Not a big deal as I find earplugs to be more effective at reducing noise but I wish I could use those electronic earmuffs with the built in microphones.
Does anyone else have this problem or is my head just too weird and fucked up to ever use these?
>>34110775
never came across a person that didn't have this problem with certain ear muffs. Switch to inter ear plugs instead or wear them a bit higher.
Are you tilting your head to get a sight picture?
>>34110788
I'm not even sure how I'm supposed to line my eye up behind the rifle without tilting my head into the stock. Therein lies the problem.

We've all seen these online - nifty little tips and tricks and ways to repurpose old stuff. I thought we could do a thread on that kind of stuff here. I'll start us out with this: My inline muzzleloader uses 209 shotgun primers to ignite the powder charge. The CCI primers come in a little paper box with a plastic holder for the shells - 100 to a box in a 10x10 grid. I found that if I cut the holder down to 6x10 and did a little trimming, the holder would snap perfectly into an old Altoids tin. The Altoids tin then fits perfectly into a Maxpedition Barnacle (though any bag made for a small digital camera would work), turning it into a really nice improvised cap pouch.
So what hacks do you guys have? I'd love to hear them!
>>34110538
if you have an old GI M16 cleaning kit you can clean the inside of your bolt carrier by taking the 3 main dowels, stack them like logs, insert them into the carrier and with light pressure twist in opposite directions then tap on a wooden surface. Bonus the natural mix of lubricant and carbon acts as "pipe dope" and helps prevent the threads of the dowels from seizing in the future.
You will need-
>1 x artillery shell
>1 x ballistic gel block
>a knife
Instructions-
>Chop up ballistic gel block into pieces
>Put pieces into the artillery shell
>Place shell on the stove
>Continue to stir so the gel doesn't burn
>Once melted leave to cool down
>Place penis inside the gel once it has thickened and cooled
>Leave penis for 15 minutes (or until gel has hardened)
Congratulations you have made a fleshlight

I know the AR is designed so that it isn't too difficult to make, but could the design be simplified even more? I'm talking stamped parts, absolute minimal machining and resources, etc., sten style. I'd even entertain the idea of open bolt
Yes.
