Despite its many faults is there any game that does fictional weapons and gear better than MGSV?
>Main character's default camo is rare Vietnam tiger stripe
>Main assault rifle is an amalgamation of an FNC, CAR-15 and FAL with a believable model which could be easily functional and would fit in seamlessly with other Cold War designs.
>All gear is real and Cold War issue to US troops
>Guns have realistic recoil which builds and spreads the longer you hold the trigger
>Bullet penetration depends on the gun, and includes individual amounts of drop for every weapon
Anyone have other games, weapons or characters to add?

Nobody said that you can't just go infantry and be super religious or whatever. Pour some pigs blood on one of your kills for me. I really wanted to enlist, but have pretty bad vertigo so I would probably die or get someone killed.

Military orders were akin to monks, not priests, and they were still closer to knights than monks.
I can thumb cock fast enough to cause cylinder throw-over, and this is my carry gun.
Will a longer bolt fix this, or a stronger bolt spring? I know fanning revolvers have perfect timing, so how is it accomplished?

Let's have the opposite of one of the usual threads and discuss stupid things that MALLNINJAS say or believe. I'll start:
Disparages guns that aren't chambered in 9mm, 10mm, .556, 6.5 Creedmore, or 7.62 x 39.
Believes that hot 9mm has equivalent energy at the muzzle to .40 S&W and .357 Magnum because he decided to compare expensive boutique ammo to weak loadings.
Believes that 10mm has equivalent energy at the muzzle to .44 Magnum because he decided to compare expensive boutique ammo to weak loadings.
Believes that proficiency in hunting has no relationship to combat marksmanship, when, in reality, there has been a strong and demonstrated relationship between the two that has been acknowledged for hundreds of years now.
Invests far more effort into posting pictures of his gun online and taking pictures of himself holding his gun than actually becoming proficient with it. Has spent oceans of money on expensive accessories, optics, camouflage, body armor, and a large arsenal of guns, but doesn't own a shot timer.
Believes he needs to replace over half of the parts in his Glock 19 in order to make it "good" or "usable," despite the fact that hundreds of thousands of police around the country use stock Glocks every day with no problems.
Despite being preoccupied with aesthetics rather than function, believes that wood furniture is "gay fudd shit."
Uses "muh sporting purpose" fudd as a political strawman, when those kinds of people are from his grandparents' generation and are either dead or have been politically irrelevant ever since the NRA-ILA was founded. In reality, nearly every gun owner of his parents' generation is anti-NFA, anti-Hughes Amendment, and pro-2A with no restrictions on law abiding citizens of good standing, and avid hunters have done more to deregulate ARs than any other demographic.
>angled foregrips are better than verticals (this one pisses me off the most)
>slapping tons of useless shit like handstops, fingerstops, rail covers and different grips has any real tactical value other than aesthetics
>Drop leg holsters are better than belt holsters
>>34149582
Angled foregrips and the faggy Costa technique are unironically better on full auto and on meme caliber AR's like .458 socom or .50 Beowulf tbqh.
Drop thigh holsters are more comfortable (especially when driving and/or sitting in a car a lot) and make a lot of sense for somebody who carries a rifle and would rather completely forget about their pistol unless everything just goes to absolute shit.
1) Putting way, WAY too much emphasis on guns when it comes to SHTF. Keep in mind, I'm not saying that guns aren't important - just that they aren't the only thing that's important. A modicum of physical fitness, the ability to grow a garden or even just knowing which plants that grow around you are edible, the ability to dress small game like rabbits or turkey, knowing where and how to get drinkable water - these are all just as important as guns, if not more so. They'd do well to spend a little less time reading about the Wehrmacht and a little more time reading Novella Carpenter.
2) Overemphasis on types of guns. The real divide in SHTF will be hasguns vs. noguns. A $200 Maverick 88 will probably get you by just as well as a tricked-out AR with $1000 worth of bullshit bolted to its tactical rails. Speaking of which, what ammo do you think will be more available if S really does HTF - 12 gauge shotgun shells, or your boutique cartridge with scientifically-calculated flat trajectory out to 3000 yards? Just askin'.
Compared to thirty years ago, what is the state of the market for intermediate cartridge semi-autos?
Have AR-15s, for better or worse, limited the variety and availability of simple (and affordable) "autoloader" designs?
It seems like pistol grips, rails, and military patterns have overtaken everything else.
In fact, aside from an SKS, the Ruger Mini or the Keltec SU, I can't think of- or find- any- self-loaders that aren't based off of (admittedly venerable) AR or AK patterns.

Yes, yes it has. For two reasons, really.
One:
>it is a damn fine system and works to a near perfect degree
>it is an incredibly reliable system that can perform near infinitum with a standard degree of care
>it blends everything you could ever want or need. Utilitarian capacity, accuracy, comfort and modularity
Two:
>it would seem that either Armalite has reduced the cost of licensing their design or that they no longer have a hold on their design making the guns cheaper seemingly with every month.
>>34148488
It's also customizable. That's a big selling point. An AR-15 is like the Legos of guns.
>>34148520
>>34148488
Right, but in my state it's not legal to hunt deer with 5.56, so, what the hell.
>"Theo, I have run out of ammunition. I'm going to ram this one. Good bye. We'll see each other in Valhalla." - Heinrich Ehrler's last transmission over the Squadron Radio Network before he rammed the B-24 bomber "Trouble in Mind," piloted by Captain John Ray, destroying both aircraft and killing himself. "Theo" refers to Theodor Weissenberger.
